With Red Bull proving dominance at its foremost in 2023, the Milton Keynes squad is working hard to preserve that dominance for 2024. But other teams are not staying still, knowing that they need to improve their game for 2024, making massive overhauls for their upcoming challengers. Wondering how many people understood how big news is if Rorry Byrne is indeed involved in the desgn of the 2024 car. Fyi before his retirement he was cinsidered as genius as Andrian Newey if not a bigger one..

W15 will be a beast. RB19 will be a beast. Ferrari also will be a beast. I expect these three beasts to put a show for both championships in 2024.

Expecting biggest gains from Mercedes and Aston Martin. Reb Bull will be mighty. Mercedes are very bullish about their gains but it might take 5-7 races to learn about the new car that is unlike their 2023 car. Whilst I would like Ferrari to make big gains, history has shown us that it is not a team to make huge gains from one year to the next. McLaren made huge gains in the second half of the 2023 campaign, but I doubt they can continue to advance the car at the same rate. So that leaves us with Aston Martin. Last year they came out of the blocks with such impressive gains which was fuelled by the strategic high profile hires from Red Bull and Mercedes. Their pace of development faltered in the second half of the season but it was clear they were experimenting with different concepts. I believe their will pull it all together and surprise many with huge gains in 2024, which will like likely result, I predict, in 3-4 race wins

If anyone is taking the fight to Red Bull it'll be McLaren car wise I'm just worried about the drivers lack of experience fighting Verstappen. If Hamilton or Alonso were at McLaren I'd be confident of a title fight.

Well Oscar showed it in Qatar and Belgium that he can fight Max. And Lando has already lots of experience for his very young age and fought against Hamilton and max already successfully.

Mercedes could be closer to redbull, but as long Verstappen is driving there it will be almost impossible to beat them.

I don’t think the zero pod is a flawed concept. It didn’t work in the way they build it, doesn’t mean it didn’t work. More so we have to include the possibility that it might have work if given ample time and resources, meaning… A zero pod concept with the RBR suspension and the normal PU layout plus the corrected seating position might be the way to go. However the risks involved in the current regulations to pursue that concept and make it work had a bad ROI compared to copying. That’s the saddest development in F1! The abolishment of innovation. The very limited funds to operate in. I don’t have to refer to times not only in sport where the desire and access to resources was the foundation to the birth of the V2 rocket, the SR-71 and the space shuttle. A desire to go to the moon and the will to pay every price to be the first. F1 has been leading the automotive industry with plenty of tech trickle down in to conventional road cars. We’ve closed that door and with the restrictions from the government on company’s, we won’t see anything revolutionary in the upcoming decades. We could have tech that could lead to anti gravity for all we know. But restrictions on innovation and budgets is always destructive.

They worked over 18 months on that zero pod concept . Merc isnt incompetent so just admit it as merc already did the Design was a clear failure. As newey stated he thought of that as well but came to the conclusion that it wouldnt really work in practice

@@nerexxnerexx9012 no you and Newey and I for that matter will never know. Just like the zero pod concept was never explored to its full extent is equal as to Newey putting 90% of his work on the suspension and not on aero. You see on the premise you’re right and as it stands the zero pod as implemented was a failure. But we all know by now which sacrifices Mercedes made to do the zero pod concept. Traditional suspension, even cutting on engine development to make it happen. Sacrifice optimal seating position. I could go on and on. You think that ground effect is the success of the RBR?! Well their success is not in applying it successfully, it’s rather doing it without too many errors. It’s a substantial difference. 1 implies you’re superior, the second implies the competition to be incompetent. From a distance many would argue the latter. Not taking into account regulations that inhibit teams on improving nor correcting mistakes. The lack of ability for those teams to correct the more exposed was RBR’s seemingly unrivalled success. Granted they are successful and they are the deserved champions. But the gap was created artificially by decree of the budget cap. You see the very thing that was supposed to equal the field was helping RBR to establish themselves an unrivalled domination position never to be seen in the history of the sport. Yes there were dominating era’s in the history of the sport but never to such an extent. This is not to say that the result would differ much if the competition was able to correct. Results would be all things considered the same. The difference would be that RBR would face a rather more serious competition. So if people say that the success of RBR is due to Newey that is true to an extent. But their dominance and therefore untouchable position is only possible by having the regulations stopping competition.

It's not a case of should be allowed or not. It must be mandated for all teams to produce gearboxes in-house, so there is more competition. That's my opinion...

My top five and their race pace deficit 1.Red bull - Benchmark 2.Mercedes - 0.097 seconds 3.McLaren - 0.150 4.Ferrari - 0.250 5.Aston Martin - 0.350 They'll be closer than last year to Red bull and it'll be fireworks throughout the season
