Thank you so much! It was a lot harder than I thought it was going to be. It’s so quiet here. I’m use to all the commotion! lol Hopefully they are doing well. I really do miss those little Stinkers😔😔😔
Aww! They are all so freaking adorable! I’m sorry you had to say goodbye to them. You are so close with all your Goats. You don’t see your connection that you have with them very often on other channels. Hope you get to keep in contact with the New owners and they send you pictures! ❤
I'm so sorry for you and your girl. I just went through almost the same a couple days ago with my last doe to kid. We wound up making an emergency trip to the vet. I just can't believe how bad this kidding season has sucked.... You did amazing, by the way. It's hard to imagine how strong they are until you have to do it. Much sympathy 💔
Aww thank you this one was tough. I was just trying to stay calm. Her placenta came out with the first baby and an hr later she had another baby! Have you ever had that happen before?
@@thepamperedpetfarmette7221 Oh wow, no I haven't, but i saw on another channel that she had like 90 minutes between kids. Crazy. Was the other baby alive?
Thank you 😊 The kids head was completely backwards. I was finally able to grab a hold of the head and a hoof. The poor little guy was long gone. There was no saving him. At that point we needed to save Princess. She was traumatized and in shock. Thankfully she recovered after a lot of medical attention. I feel so bad for her.
No worries they didn’t feel any pain just pressure. They don’t like being restrained so that’s why they cry a little. They were numbed before the disbudding. Afterwards we brought them home and they were running and playing like nothing ever happened!!😊😊😊
Aww Raven is so cute! And 5 Goats in the car must have been crazy! The little ones didn’t even seem like it bothered them. I guess that’s why the give the Lidocaine so they can’t really feel it!
I watching this while waiting on one of mine to get on with it. She was due yesterday and she delights in getting me wound up. I can see Tinkerbell going over the 'Kidding Doe's Code of Honor' in her head. Rule #2. "Midwives" must reach the babbling fool status before you kid out. Bloodshot eyes, tangled hair and the inability to form a sentence means the time is getting close.
You can say that again! lol I think I was starting to be delusional from not having any sleep. I’ve only delivered babies a couple of times so this is all still new to me. To be honest I was scared to death when I couldn’t get the umbilical cord to detach. I’ve never had that happen before. Have you ever had that happen to you? Plus the second baby was born with poop all over it. I did some research but it says 10 different things that could have caused it. Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated! You are definitely more experienced than I am! So stressful!
@@thepamperedpetfarmette7221 I know that sometimes the babies can clear the meconium before birth so I think that's normal, if a bit icky. I've never had the umbilical cord not break so that is a mystery, unless it just seemed tougher because you were so stressed. And speaking of being more experienced, I don't think we ever know enough! The doe I was waiting on kidded last night after a miserable long labor where the first kid (of triplets) was trying to come out tail first. I couldn't get in far enough to get his legs back and he wasn't going to come on his own. She had been pushing for almost 3 hours. I had to call a friend with smaller arms than me to fish him out and it was terrifying and painful for the doe and me! This morning, she is eating, drinking, feeding the kids but doesn't really want to walk around so I am still worried. Just when you think you have a handle on things, they throw something else at you. I think you did great!
@@thepamperedpetfarmette7221 Well, I don't know where my first response went but I'll try again. I have heard that sometimes they can clear the meconium while still inside, so I think it's normal if a bit icky. I haven't heard of the cord not breaking but it may have seemed tougher because you were so stressed out. As far as being more experienced, I probably know just enough to be dangerous, lol! Even the most experienced goat breeders will run into something new. The doe I was waiting on went into labor last night and it was miserable and scary. She was pushing for almost 3 hours. Her first (of three) was trying to come out tail first and was stuck. I couldn't get in far enough to get his hind legs and bring them forward and she wasn't going to get him out herself. I had to call a friend with smaller arms than mine to go in and fish him out. It was terrifying and painful for the doe and I wasn't having any fun either. This morning, she was eating, drinking, and taking care of her littles but still doesn't want to walk much so I am still worried. This same thing happened with a different doe last year, but the first one coming out backwards was a runt and it was easier for me to push him back in and get his legs behind him. Just goes to show you, even when you've seen it, you still haven't seen it! I think you did just fine with Tinkerbell.
Thank you so much for getting back to me. I saw your reply before they could delete it! So HA YT! 3 hrs delivering! I would have freaked out and called the Vet. lol Thank goodness your friend was able to come and help you. You are right about the Meconium. I talked to the Vet and she said in our case it was due to stress. Tinkerbell is ok and thankfully not having any issues. She was in a lot of pain afterwards so I gave her a shot of Banamine and that really helped.
That's pretty luxurious accomodations for goats. Give me a pillow and blanket and I'd be fine over there in the corner. Maybe a baby goat would cuddle by me....I bet they're warm.
Sooooo Cool. Congrates! We have some due Wednesday..I crossed boer and Dwarf this time, should have some mini boers. We will see. thanks for the share. Peace
So I know the farm life is a lot of work, but this day sure seems relaxing and peaceful just hanging out with the sheep and the babies. Looks like a pretty day. 💜
Yea this was a Beautiful Day! These guys are African Pygmy Goats. Not related to Sheep. The Goats are great to have around. There antics are so funny 😂
