Hi !! I'm me. Davina. I am a work in progress. There are times when I feel in control and like I know what I'm doing...and there are times (quite a few)(actually lots) when I've got no idea whats going on, where to turn, what to do, how to behave, and those are the times I've sought help! I have been helped by some extraordinary people. I've been supported and counselled through my recovery from drugs and alcohol. I've been hypnotised to get me through going to the bottom of the sea in a sub (life at the extreme). I've read a squibillion (that's a lot) of fantastic self help books and I have shared and shared with the greatest girlfriends and family of all time. These nuggets of wisdom have at times literally kept me going, so I thought I'd pay it forward with these videos xxx

I was diagnosed post menopause in March this year, age 42. I'd had symptoms for the last 2 or 3 yrs, but no-one (inc me) connected the dots to it being menopause because of my age. 9 months ago, I asked a male GP if there's any chance it could be menopause - he laughed and said come back in 10yrs and ask me. 3 months later, I went for a pill check and mentioned how awful I'd been feeling. The lovely nurse booked me in with a female GP. Fast forward a few blood tests and a referral to the menopause clinic (which has a massive waiting list). To tide me over, my GP has prescribed 50mg of everol conti patches, which has changed my life for the better. I can't believe how long I put up with feeling so rotten. In my experience, going through early menopause (possible poi/prem meno) seeing a GP who understands and isn't terrified of HRT is what made all the difference ❤

Thank goodness you’ve done these chats Davina. I remember years ago, when you first started talking about menopause and premenopause symptoms. So here I am 44 years old and I knew something was wrong. I wasn’t the same woman a few years back. Unfortunately I suffer with fibromyalgia and hypermobility, so premenopausal symptoms were not in my mind, until I started logging my periods! They are closer together, heavier than before, more night sweats and my bloody mood swings are awful. I feel sorry for my 11 year old daughter putting up with me! So, I put all this together tonight and thought 💭 I can handle this usually what’s going on, why am I so bloody angry and intolerant. Crying at the least thing more than before. I bet I’m premenopausal. I’m going to explain all this to my G.P and I pray they give me HRT. Any advice anyone has or support, I’d appreciate it. I hope all you ladies are doing okay too. Iam 47 I quit my stress filled job last month, I lost confidence, feel like I’ve lost myself, can’t cope with things crying hysterically a lot , want to be alone and not leave my house, don’t sleep , had weird hot flushes and night sweats , can’t deal with stress feeling depressed even though my life is wonderful, had no idea this was perimenopause! Utterly floored by finding this out and time lining symptoms back to maybe 8 years ago that’s what’s wrong with me ,now on HRT didn’t even know perimenopause was a thing let alone you can take HRT with it , thank you Davina for being a warrior for women.
Watching this today has been so important for me. I literally am due to start HRT today and this morning I had the absolute wobbles about it again. In this video you covered so much of what I have needed to hear and clarify I feel immensely better , thank you so much x
Thank you to both of you for highlighting how much of an issue this can be. I’m 47 and have been having symptoms now for a number of years. You have given me the knowledge to be able to talk to the doctors and to try to get across the treatment I need rather than increasing my antidepressants etc. No one explains how paralysing perimenopause can be and how it affects everything in my life. So thank you xx
Hi Davina, I am 47 and I think I've been going through perimenopause since 45. It's only through watching your documentary that I realized so I want to say thank you. I started estradot patches 50mg a year ago. I have suddenly gone up two sizes I am now worried I have the coil in also, my doctor won't prescribe the testosterone gel. Could the HRT be a cause of the weight gain?
Hello Davina, im in my early 50s and II see a lot of fitness videos, outfit ideas and how 'Older woman' should dress. Honestly imo I wish people would give older woman a break. For goodness sake this day and age just be YOU and don't worry what others think. Looking like you do Davina (Incredible) you haven't got a worry in the world, honestly, you are stunning !!!

I have been using estrogel for 3 years and I love my sleep! However, I now have to have the merina fitted to go alongside estrogel as i get heavy bleeding and painful cramps. BUT I am worried as I had the merina inserted 20 years ago and it turnned me suicidal and depressed. So now I'm weighing up, do I chance it or come off of HRT all together?
