Father and son (and occasional invited mates / special guests) playing various tabletop games. We're planning on playing some well-known and not so well-known games, doing some product reviews, some how-to videos, but mainly just making some memories together and sharing them with the world. God bless.
Check out our other channel where the games are just solo play wargames and similar: Sad and Lonely Gamer
With regards to COPPA, we understand that the games we principally play on the channel are primarily played by adults, i.e. we primarily play wargames with miniatures, and adults are our primary target audience.
Enjoyed that immensely! Thanks for uploading and i really hope you guys are doing okay. Good luck with the move. Loved the unit names, especially the lab rats. 😂
Great battle report. Nice paint jobs on the figures and terrain. Did the Stormcast really have a chance? They were 120 points less than the Khorne force. I don't know if the Khorne force cost changed with 2.0 rules, but the Stormcast only cost 650 points, leaving them room for 3 Gryph-hounds or 2 more Liberators.
Just found your channel. Really enjoyed the play through. I love Elder sign. I love the way the game can swing so that even an easy ancient one can become a real challenge. You never know which way it’s going to go. I thought you stood up well against what was becoming a monster fest at one point. Thanks for the play through.
18:00 model has not space available for that action, it's trapped; during disingaging, you cannot jump, climg down/up or fly away; disingage action is not considered a move action by any means.
14:05 yes, it's specifically covered, but you've applied the wrong example which would have been in case of no ladder (just a wall). While in your specific case, you attack and you do not fall down (p.17 rules book); as you are on a ladder you cannot phisically position the model, then you need to take note where it is (on top of the ladder and still engaged with the enemy).
5:15 that's not a SOLID WALL, in the middle you can see a closed door, rules allow you to go through those with exception of monsters, beasts and mounts.
21:07 Rule actually says "if you get 4+ (not just a 4) of the same number it is a quad", this means if you get 6 of the same number it's always a quad (never a quad + double)
The wording on The Chapel seems pretty weird and ambiguous. The second sentence could be read as either "If that invedtigator is already blessed, they can spend 8 trophies to gain one of the following:" (which doesn't seem worth it) or "If that investigator is already blessed, instead of spending 8 trophies they can gain one of the following:" (which is actually useful)
Great batreps guys! And yup, that match-up was pretty unbalanced given the compositions of the two warbands. That's obviously one of the challenges of Warcry - deciding whether to try to make a list that covers all of the major types of "missions" or to optimize for a few types of missions knowing you're likely to to lose 1 or 2 types. It was actually even worse for the Slaves of Darkness than you realize: when the Chaos units fell from the ladder, the rules state: "If a fighter falls, the opposing player picks a point on a platform or the battlefield floor that is within 2" horizontally of the fighter that has fallen and that is vertically lower than the fighter that has fallen. The fallen fighter is then placed with the centre of their base on that point." If I'm eyeballing the board correctly, the Nighthaunt player could have had the Slaves fighters fall more towards the long edge of the board, which would have landed them on the battlemat "floor" level, forcing them to climb two stories back up the bell tower.
As a viewer I really enjoyed this batrep. Every activation really mattered as well as the order in which you chose to activate each model. Slaves to Darkness were on the back foot from the beginning, so it made it pretty tense, imho. I can see how you, the player, weren't enjoying it as much as we were, but I thought it was a very tactical fight. I'm loving your terrain... the blood splatters are perfect; I'm going to have to steal that. The choice of contrast paints for the different wood types is also just right. I always struggle to get wood-coloring the way I want it; you nailed it, imho. The glass bottles are also painted so well. I'm always impressed and inspired by the painting work you put into your models & terrain for every battle. You get so much done and do it so well! Thanks for sharing it all with us. :-)
Good spot. The Nighthaunt would have been immune becuase they've all got the Fly runemark. But the Chaos Warriors probably should have taken a fall test. It's also worth noting that in 1st Edition, you only took a fall test if the attack had any critical hits; in 2nd Ed it's simply after the attack regardless of the outcome. Thanks for watching and for pointing that out.
ha! I was going to say the same thing. lol. Ultimately, those warriors went where they were needed most so it worked out fine, but at first, I was thinking, "there's a gate! a gate!!" 😛
My wife and I just got into Warcry 2.0 and have been looking for bat reps. Glad we came across yours. Everything looks great! Those metal looking dice are cool!
Thanks (I wish I could get my wife to play!) The dice are the Warcry Grand Alliance dice that you can still get from some third party suppliers but I don't think that GW still sell them; they seem to be switching to warband-specific dice sets instead
@@clashofthedice Thanks for letting me know! Having a wife that is into miniature games sounds great, but now I have twice the amount of unpainted minis to catch up on lol.
Hi there. It only becomes a roll-off if both players have the same number of singles. If one player uses a Wild dice as a single and then has more singles than the other player then they simply steal the initiative without a roll off.
The reactions seem like a fun little addition, the choices add a little more tactics to the game by the looks of it & in theory allows every model to do 'something' right before an Ogor clobbers you to a fine mist, even if it's a measly 1 damage.
Excellent recap on the changes from 1st to 2nd edition. I've had a chance to play several games of 2nd edition and really like the changes. Reactions are fantastic and add a lot of tactical choices during the game. I have to give GW props by keeping the core rules the same but cleaning up and adding a few things to 2nd edition to make it even better. Honestly, I was very nervous when I heard about 2nd edition being released as Warcry is one of the few GW games I still like (Underworlds being the other game) and I am glad they didn't ruin Warcry with the new edition just made it a better experience overall. Take care.
That seems very likely. And not a bad thing; I used to enjoy Underworlds but found that putting a card deck together was taking twice as long as actually playing the game. Playing with those models in a nice, simple rules set like Warcry would be good.
@@clashofthedice Play the Rivals version of Underworlds. No deck building required since it uses only the prebuilt warband decks or prebuilt Rivals decks.
really awesome content! slowly working my way into tabletop wargaming and the way you fuse narrative elements with your explanations of the rules is absolutely top tier!
Hi there. Thanks for the comment and the encouragement. However, I suspect you are looking at the 2nd Edition rule book; this game video was filmed before that came out.
I am not a fan of the new shooting rule. 3 of the 4 grand alliances probably wouldn't care if they hit their own fighter. I would prefer it getting redine as you hit your own fighter on a 1-2. Maybe crit on a 1 and hit on a 2-3 (if a 3 is a miss). That would put a penalty for sooting into combat without banning it, which is probably inaccurate.
