@@hellosailoreffectsofficial I’ve always lived by (to some sound guys chagrin) the ethos that “you gotta move air if you wanna move people”. Don’t know how true that is, but even if it’s all in my head I’ll take it 😜
That 77 Strat is something else, i love a fatty stock and I used to gig a white strat that wasn't quite white anymore which had a thick gloss neck. Putting it through your pedals is the tone that beast deserves too 👌 top stuff gent
@BudgetPedalChap Cheers mate. I bought it sight unseen as I thought If someone has played a poly finish to add that much wear it must be good! Weighs in at 7lbs too.
@hellosailoreffectsofficial I love the logo shirt. To be fair some of your pedal artwork might go well on a merch. But to be honest, you're asking the wrong person for fashion advice😂😂
Haha, 😂 Brilliant 👏 cheers. Agreed, the wire trim tip has been a godsend just there for me on a shield for reverb on a board, could not get the tinned end through the board. Genius!
Oh and sorry to spam but your tip with the wire had me face palming myself. I've had so much trouble getting wires that were a little too big into pcbs sooo many times. I've never thought to trim them like that.
It's not spam at all mate. The more chat the better in my book. Same here! I've ruined so many PCB's trying to squeeze them in too. Glad you could find something useful in it.
Also have you seen the Five Cats Facebook post from 7th June? It looks like a silver metal pcb for a JHF1 pedal. It just says coming soon but I'll definitely be building one once he releases it. I've got a cool custom enclosure that I've been waiting for a cool circuit to put in for ages.
@@hellosailoreffectsofficial looking forward to it,,, great videos mate ,, iv just started my pedal journey and really appreciate the advice you give 🤟🏻
@irishRocker1 Ha ha I think I might of mentioned that I was "attempting" toy get that tone ha ha ha ha. That was my get out of jail free card. Have you ever played a pedal that came close?
Bloody brilliant video. Why did I never think to trim of a bit of the girth of a wire? So for the clipping mod as long as one wire goes to the cathode of one diode and the other wire to the anode of the other 👍🏻
@@hellosailoreffectsofficialyour insight is awesome mate. I’m about to do a TDX clone which has 2 x clipping diodes in head to toe configuration. I want to try a switch for stock and maybe some Ge’s. Any clue on how ???
@ac30helix44 Thank you, mate. I'm so glad you have got some value from my video. I have a "beginners tubescreamer mod" video that goes deep into this very subject if you're interested mate. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Cc9Nee5O2qg.html
Great Video Joe! Note to self, make sure you don’t use Steel toe boots while stomping on switches. Haha. I am glad I was able to contribute in a way to this video. Cheers!
@@hellosailoreffectsofficial I don't know really, I just had a Blackhawk amps overdrive that had one and it was a cool feature. It's on loan to a friend back in the states, and I'm itching to get it back and play with it.
It was my main pedal for close to 30 years. The Sparkle Drive, and an echo pedal. Joe said he wanted me to try it after his mod. It sounds amazing! And I will be adding it back to my board! Joe is a magician.
Great story mate, love how you turned things around and (in my opinion) are making some of the best effects pedals on the planet 💪🏻❤️ will always support you when I can
I have a V2 Deluxe in Black Sparkle myself and it’s a really great foundation to record and craft ideas with. It does Vibrato, Chorus, Skippy degenerating VHS tape, Sine type echo, That Lofi warbly thing. It’s more than just a delay to me, it’s life.
On reddit I saw someone got a legit 52 Les Paul for 200 bucks in an estate sale, lol. The gold top just reminded me of it. But nice little relic job in my opinion!!!
Some absolutely cracking pedals there man, and honoured to make the list 😀 The "Horse Whisperer" has been through a fair few iterations now, and the most recent one uses 11 transistors 😂😂😂
@jsaeffects Hello mate. That's insane! How do you even fit 11 in there? I love that I pretty much had decided this was mine from the second I plugged it in ha ha im eternally grateful you let me keep it.
@hellosailoreffectsofficial with great difficulty 😂😂😂 I had to move up to the next enclosure size, and use top mounted jacks. Saying that, the latest iteration is the closest I've gotten to the full Klon - it has the clean blend gain control, 18v for the tone section, and a really smooth gain sweep, but it does lack some of the charm of the older ones which were more Klon 'inspired' than just Klones. Maybe now's the time for a throwback batch of these V1 Horse Whisperers? 🤔
@jsaeffects I love that you've gone all out mate! What you need is the latest version and the original version in a massive dual pedal! I'd buy that in a heartbeat.
@hellosailoreffectsofficial that would need to be a massive enclosure, and A LOT of J201's! 😂 I dug out the original vero layout, and it turns out it was created 22nd July 2018, so it feels I would be remiss if I didn't make some as a 6th anniversary edition, as I missed the 5th anniversary 😉
Glad to see the T-120 on there; Steve’s a mad scientist….I stood with him & Adrian and listened to them talk shop in Anaheim and about 10 seconds in they lost me 😂
Really interesting to see how these pedals are built, even if i dont understand whats happening lol, great work! That pedal looks and sounds amazing too, as always! 🤘Nice one mate.
Enjoyed this mate. Quite a colourful past! I knew you were from round these parts, I’m up in Waterloo and filmed some of my videos in the old St Mary’s primary in Bootle
G'day Joe, It's great to hear that you changed your theft and drug habbits, particularly at such a young age, & that you made up your own mind about it all. Keep up the good work Andrew
