Hi! My name is Bellinda Ostertag, welcome to my channel. I am South African/Swiss born. I trained in the UK as a nurse and also did my pre-medicine route. However, I decided to leave that to migrate to the USA where I am currently doing my FNP. I love all things educational as well career progression. I hope you stay and subscribed and find my channel both informative and entertaining.❤️
Hi Bellinda - thanks for the helpful content! On the BI-1664 form what did you put for: Q9 'How to be acquired (UK citizenship)?' and Q11 'Reason for wanting to retain SA citizenship?" Thank you/
And finally, we need a video on your mindset, the way you think and analyse things is out of this world. You need to share with us some of your tips and tricks so we can be baddies too.
Hi Belinda! I've a question if is ok?! After you submit your application online, the next page is for you to choose the biometric day and any service as scanning documents and pay them as well? Thank you!
Huge congratulations Nurse Bellinda on the completion of your program and thank you for responding to my questions when I reached out on IG. You're a huge inspiration
Hello, thanks for the information, so it's mean first time passport application takes round about 5 to 6 weeks to be issued, after identity details and documents received?
@@nurse_bellinda Okay my friend applied after getting Citizenship, and it's been over 3 weeks they asked that the person confirmed your identity details he is not eligible, then he asked for another person his colleague to do it now he is still waiting for them to reply any idea ?
3:31 Nursing in the UK was always general. You just came late into the game. The present system is shite and reflects the incoming business /get ready for a USA type privatisation model. Your present and completed training resembles an ideology underpinning the nurse as a doctor...train one and get one free. UK nurse training was the best in the world until they copied the USA Project 2000 which, was never fit for purpose and ongoing is a shambles Anyway, congratulations and good luck...you’ll need it🎉
Hi Belinda honestly I love to listern to your videos and advise I was actually waiting to hear from you as you mentioned you were relocating to the USA. Finally you have updated what the USA is like in regards to working in health sector. How is it like to work as a health care assistant as am planning to be a nurse in future . Belinda I know you arm high and this is not your possition but because of your genuine advice will appreciate your advise and put it on board as it is not very helpful to start nursing from the UK if you are planning to go to the USA. PLEASE ADVISE
Hi Ballinda, I did Access to HE Diploma in Health and Social Care to get into Social work. I achieved 42 Distinctions and 3 Merits on this programme. There is an element of driving due to Social work being community care based job. So I've changed my career to clinical psychologist which is a clinical based job. I will be studying Bsc Psychology mental health at my chosen Uni this September. For me, my course was still worth it, as 3 of my course units were in psychology relating to childhood studies and mental health which I've recieved distinctions in them. Overall, this course for me was worth doing! I'm so sorry to hear that your Access course dissapointed you within your career path.
@@nurse_bellindaHi Belinda, it is possible. If the person has a BsN , there are few schools that take MSN -NP and sponsor the f1 visa. And it’s a plus that he has the NcLEX too.
@@successumesiri How its not possible to apply for NP outside unless you have completed prerequisites. I understand that they take f1 visa student I was an f1 visa student when I started the program. However, you still need prerequisites. Most universities want foreign trained nurses to have 1 year USA nursing experience within the country.
It would have been better if you used you OPT to work as a floor nurse for a few years and have that company file your green card for you. You can go back to NP school when you are a green card holder, it would be much cheaper.
Why should I work as a floor nurse? I have 20 months nursing experience as an emergency nurse. I did do opt, and I didn’t need a company to file for my greencard because I am a spouse of a permanent resident.
@nurse_bellinda wished I could dm you. Lol 😅 so I have my usrn license, but 30 months away from PR, and currently thinking of staying and starting graduate entry, cause hardly would n.p satisfy me, crna is highly competitive, doing md opens door to more specialities, and uk graduate md is cheaper. Hard to decide 😅😅 but you've made a move to the USA and you once wanted to get on the MD path, so I'll like to hear your opinion now that you have migrated
@@nurse_bellinda oh wow, I didn’t know that. I was here thinking I could do them here. But does that mean I would have to move without fully knowing what university I’ve been accepted into? Or do they accept students and give them time to complete the prerequisites?
So you will just need to get your nursing degree evaluated. Then sit for your green card. What are you doing studying nursing in the uk as a green card holder 😊
@lifeofme374 what 😳😳 you could t decide 😂😂 it would of been a no brainer for me lol 😂 but then that’s just me. At least your moving back journey will be easy with you having a green card. How did you manage to stay out of the country so long as a greencard holder
Yes thats true , for example Polish nursing degree( also the one taught in English ) is accepted in Us as Polish nursing degree its based on american nursing curriculum and includes ginecology and peadiatrics.
Thanks for your video everything is on point ! The makeup and the information by God grace I will reach American soil ☺️ coz there are more opportunities past the UK America looks good on u!
Nurse Nanelle needs tonsee this video. I think deep down inside she want to (and is planning to) migrate to US soon, based on her increased curiosity in USA living/lifestyle 😉😎
Every Nanelle subscriber knows Nanelle loves the USA. I think the major barrier to her moving is probably her hubby not in support. I know when they are ready, they will move
This is why I will FOREVER tell ppl to go to USA 🇺🇸 versus UK 🇬🇧... dont listen to these toxic social media and news that are programmed to use fear tactics etc tonprevent ppl from migrating as well!! Online is not real compared to experiences and meeting ppl on ground!!!! I have travelled all over Us and NEVER been robbed nor held at gun point 😂😂😂 my sister and aunt over there became 6 figure Nurse pra titionwrs in NO TIME after becoming RNs over there. And get their annual leaves and travel YEARLY. I AM NOT LYING. I always love USA, and I am not surprised at the various opportunitites, altetnative options and open-mindedness of the USA system 🇺🇸 to applicants of a programme. Anyone can make it in the USA 🇺🇸 because sky is the limit over there. Im stuck here in this rigid and capped robotic, one-dimentional UK system 🇬🇧 😂😂😂 WELL DONE MY DEAR!!🎉🎉🎉🎉
You are so right, last time I switched on the tv to watch some news here in the USA 🇺🇸 and they were talking about how the NHS is crumbling and this was on a USA tv channel. I have been here 16 months now, I have not experienced racism, discrimination, or gun point. You are💯 right about that 6 figure salary. Thank you
