A humble jack of all trades living in the southeastern United States. I have a passion for NASCAR and history and this is the place where I decided to combine the two. Hopefully you enjoy my deep-dives into the history of NASCAR and over-analysis of its biggest events and more obscure moments through out the 70+ year history of this fantastic sport that has captured my attention and imagination since before I was even old enough to speak.
in denmark we hav something called clubrally and you can drive that when you have a driving licens and no rollcage and only a helmet next yer im gonna drive in my 12v vr6 golf mk3 i cant wait
I think the bigger problem about NASCAR loosing popularity simply are 2 things: 1: Youre driving in circles. Thats all you do, 100s of rounds in the same circle. Its like tennis were the viewes head wag from left to right, following the funny yellow bouncy ball. 2. Theres much more interesting Race sports out there with way more "OH SHIT" moments that draw away from the monotony of NASCAR.
I think NASCAR needs to go back to actual stock cars. Like they should have a racing teams go out and literally buy cars off the lot. And only doing the roll cage modification. Literally only using parts you can buy from the store like your average person. I think that would make NASCAR good again.
I was a hardcore fan. I bought t shirts, die cast, recorded the races so I could watch them later. I noped out about 10 years back and I don't miss it. Green white checker is dumb. Some races end under yellow. Deal with it. I hate seeing someone who had enough gas to run the advertised distance wind up not finishing because the Daytona 500 becomes the Daytona 509 or whatever.
Good 'ol Nascar. You know that thing that happened that got us a lot of attention and good press? Don't ever do it again. I still say the playoff system sucks.
The "designed to wound, not kill" myth has been disproven so many times. Out of a standard 20" M16, the wounds are horrific. The internet will show you how effective a small bullet going that fast is.
I remember this race. I thought it all came down to the chicane before turn 13. I had no idea about all the other stuff. Wtf FIA. Seems like the other teams were willing to risk it all just to put on a show for the fans. For years I had been cursing the Michelin teams whenever this race gets brought up. FIA seems like they have a lot in common with government. Completely detached from society.
Imagine your a spectator and you are there but people push you to the road with them you (not wanting to be there for safety) trying to move and hearing the car coming it comes around the bend you and everyone running and you get to the side look down and you are missing 1 or 2 fingers and bleeding
Baptist may save our country from hell but nascar never will. Ex nascar fan thanks to a woke BLM and progressive liberal generation that is what’s destroying our country.
"Front Row" Joe Nemecheck must have had the worst luck with sponsors. He drove for BK racing and later got sponsored by K Mart just before they went bankrupt and quit paying their bills. I think I missed a few other shady sponsors of his.
Note: The AKS-74U suffered from excessive recoil during sustained fire, leading to a less-than-ideal soldier feedback, maybe a Halbeck device of sort is needed.
Great content and very accurate in this life-long fan's opinion. However, I would also include NASCAR's decision to abandon its southeastern base tracks and all the variations between the tracks that provided much of the "entertainment" you see NASCAR pursuing with its in-race shenanigans. That decision was driven by greed with no respect for the sport. There is a karmic element to this, as dedicated fans like us are seen as dinosaur-like fools while the current crop of fans move on to the next shiney object. I could forgive NASCAR's less objectionable blunders (Petty's 199 and 200th wins) if I could attend a race at a reasonable price at a legitimate (non cookie-cutter) track hoping to see the next Bill Elliot emerge. Without that foundation, your "Dam of Legitimacy" is crumbling at it's hidden foundations.
I personally do not watch nascar racing anymore. The chase sux, the breaks suk, Nascar just plain olll suk. Ive been to Daytona Twice plus the inaugural night race, Ive been to Taledaga twice, Ive been to several Texas races and do not plan on going back or to watch on TV.
Formula One lost its mysticism during the early/mid 1990s. Regulations made it Snore-mula One. I think it was after the deaths of several drivers, such as Ayrton Senna and a few others, which instigated a change of the rules... Rally B was scary-mad-as-fuck, HIGHLY SKILLED driving, requiring much more concentration from the driver and passenger! And the spectators were crazy too, with some meeting their fates on race day! 😬😳
as a mod on a big former james somerton fans discord where were tryna work up his plagiarism and document it the "i had a reupload of james somertons apology on my swcond channel but he struck it do2n so i knew he was alive earlier than most" came out of left field and had me cackling
Saw a reaction to it and, given the video quality, it happened many years ago and was obviously no longer allowed. To hear it was so recent is refreshing since Nascar isn't popular where I live
