I mixed some fragrances from Scent Memory, and I'm not going back. I have a scent that I love from them. Unfortunately, the scent doesn't really throw a lot. I'm probably going to blend and test.
The shortest answer would be no. I have tested them so much, that this candle hardly ever fails. If anyone would ever come back and say their candle did not burn correctly, I would simply give them a free candle. So far, that has not happened. Hope that answer helps.
Love your videos!✨You’re an ikea gal like myself.😊 Hobby Lobby has tons of PINK cookware! If you haven’t checked there already… they have an entire aisle for baking/cooking that’s ALL pink, plus many other aisles with pink utensils etc… so be sure to stroll down every aisle lol!😆☺️😉
Aww... don't make me cry!😍 I've been busy trying to finish my book, "How to make 6 figures with a candle business." ... and also trying some new things to use in new videos.
@@wilcandles I wish you success in this. Thank you for giving us this useful information. You are the only person who was able to explain to me the content of candle making. I am very grateful to you.
Aww... thank you so much. It's been challenging to get my videos done, alongside working full-time, family and life stuff!! Somehow little people under 3 feet tall who call me Nana... keep showing up at my door and spending the night..LOL.
Thank you for this, I have my first Candle pouring Experience next month and this is perfect. I would love to have a copy of the waiver when ever you have it available to share. :)
scales will time out and shut off. if this happens, remove your cups, put three empty ones on, tare the scale again to arrive at your starting weight, replace the empty cups with your cups of oil and you are back at your oil measurements.
Hello Sherry, I was wondering if you have a party of 6, how many wax jars do recommend? Also do you do farmer’s market to sell your candles? My concern is the melting in high temperatures. Thanks. Martha.
for a party of 6, I would take 12 jars... in case someone breaks or messes up their jar or an unexpected candle maker shows up. And yes... I do farmers markets... not usually outdoors in July or August... seldom in June. I have found a few indoor markets during the summer. Hope this helps!
So far… I haven’t had to advertise. It’s been by word of mouth. I do one party… and book 3 more. But when I’m ready to advertise it would be on Facebook pages for businesses.
You did great! Looks fantastic! Really like the shelf lighting too. The black and white woods/forest wall paper adds so much to your background! Gorgeous. So good to have everything organized so nicely. 😊
Awww... thank you very much! I always try to find something a little out of the ordinary like the wallpaper. As for organizing... my mother calls me "Martha Stewart Jr" 😆
Hi I'm about a year ago I brought some products for candle making and soap making I had them in the same box like the products basically I think some of the oil that I had has melted a little with room temperature over time it's not covered completely all over the wax but there is some in some places just a tiny bit you can feel it on the wax will the wax still be ok to use for candles
Most candle waxes can last a year or two being stored at room temp. I would suggest making a candle and test it to see how it burns. My guess would be that it's ok.
I have not found an interactive wick guide for beeswax, but this is chart that I go by... The following is a general guideline to help you choose the right wick size for your beeswax candles. However, always keep in mind that several factors may affect the burn, such as wax composition, color, fragrance, and even the shape and size of the container. Hence, it's always recommended to conduct a burn test. | Candle Diameter (in inches) | Recommended Wick Size | | --------------------------- | --------------------- | Small Novelty | #4/0 Square Braid Wick| Tapers |#2/0 Square Braid Wick| | 1 | #1 Square Braid Wick | | Up to 2 | #2 Square Braid Wick | | 2 - 3 | #3 Square Braid Wick | | 3 - 4 | #4 Square Braid Wick | | 4 - 5 | #5 Square Braid Wick | Note: This chart is a starting point, and adjustments may be necessary based on individual candle characteristics.
I am so glad to have found your video. I successfully hosted my soft relaunch of my candle business. And my next project was a candle making party!!! The information shared is sooooo helpful.
Glad to see a new video from you. Your work space looks great. Nice clean look. Are you still using the C6 wax with CD wicks in all of your candles or have you made any changes? I’m getting ready to try some CDN wick with my C6 wax candles and was wondering if you have done the same and what your results were.
Okay so this is like my 4th time watching this video. FO is expensive. You allow for a lot of different choices in FO's. I think selecting oils is one of the fun parts of the class but how do I minimize costs? Like can I get away with just 6 FO choices?
Yes you can.... you can always offer 6 dif fragrances... maybe to increase your collection by offering them in a different size or style candle jar. This allows your collection to offer more.
Hi! Thank you for explaining how to blend FO. ?? If I wanted to blend 2 fragrance Oils to add into a bottle if it is 60/40 how would I go about doing so? Thank you !
I made a bunch of candles then tried to test later. Big mistake. Well sort of because many of them came out very nice. However I wouldn't advise anyone to do it. Not testing first does not save you money or time because you will find yourself needing to test anyway. I like premiere wicks for my 8 0z jelly jar candles. But even with the success I have had using this wick I would still advise getting a sample pack of wicks off Makesy or whomever sells them and go from there. I tried a .04 wick in a 4 oz tin based off watching someone RU-vid Channel. At first it burned really. It had excellent hot throw but the third time I burned it I could smell fumes. That taught me a lesson. Use RU-vid responsibley.
Absolutely... testing first is crucial!!! Too many factors can go wrong. For example... I can order a batch of wax and another batch of the same wax from the same company a month later and will have an issue with my test results. You must always test... trust me... I have spent a small fortune on testing..LOL
Yes they are a little pricy, but a great investment. The are stainless steel and can last a lifetime. I suggested buying a couple at a time... and then buy more over a period of time...as you grow your business.
@@wilcandles Thanks for the great video. I ordered them. I was just asked to do a class. I almost said no because I have never done one before but decided to go for it.
@@JacquelineFalls54 Good for you... you can do it..!!! Let me know how it goes. Part 2 is almost finished... I'm trying to have it up before next week.
This video popped up and is the first one of yours I watched. I have been testing candles for over 2 years and still have not been successful. I am turing 58 in a couple of months, and just the other day someone at work asked my "why would I want to start a business at my age"... I felt so deflated. Seeing you, and your birthday number just gave me a push to keep on going! Thank you!! It's just what I needed!!!
Yayyy for You! Always remember...this is YOUR LIFE and it is meant for you to do all the things that YOU want to do, so go for it..!!! Also make sure to watch my video "7 Things I wish I knew before starting a Candle Business" ... where I talk about talking starting a business at my age. I'm so glad you are here with us !!!!
