Horrible news for me since I bought shoes so that i wouldn’t have to buy new ones. i haven’t even worn them more than 5 times or less?! Not a very good return on my money either. The so called crumbling of the soles is no consolation since the other parts don’t crumble so easily. Then all these shoe trash gets into our landfill including the crumbled soles and eventually into our food supply. The nasty crumbled soles also get in our food supply with all the other pollution. A horrible case for us all. No wonder why we have so many different cancers and other diseases. Why can’t we just not be so greedy and consumer hungry? Super sad and super mad about this because I have a tennis shoes i haven’t even worn yet that was a gift right when the Covid started that I will probably never get to enjoy either!!! 😢

In the early 2000s when I began my career as a Podiatrist I did a lot of rest home work. The very elderly ladies at the time wore court shoes. It would seem indecent to them to have worn a sports shoe. I cut many holes in leather. The joint poked thru, but it prevented many an infected corn so they were happy

I have not tried or seen these shoes. However, based on the photos on their web site it appears to be a maximalist running shoe. Most of the time the On shoes have a stiffer base than other running shoe brands, so if you have a need for a stable sole profile, this may be your shoe. However, you will want to try these for yourself. What do you want the shoe to accomplish for you that your foot can't?

Thanks for this video. I think I might have this. Is it possible to cure? Ive had a weird feeling in my 2nd and 3rd toes for about a year now and am going insane. It doesnt hurt except the very first step in the morning, getting out of bed. It started when i took up running to get in shape. Is there anything else it could be confused with? When is it time to see a doctor and does it ever fully go away?

Hello please if you can offer some assistance today I have been walking with a significant stabbing kind of pain between my right big toe and second toe on the top of the foot and underneath in the soft area right behind the ball of the foot. I don't know if it's metatarsalgia or sesamoiditis or just gout but it's causing significant discomfort.
@FootGeekzTV
@FootGeekzTV 9 дней назад
Is it painful to the touch, even if you just brush over it with a sheet or a feather? Does it only hurt when walking or does it continue to throb after you discontinue activity? When did it start to hurt? Have you increased your levels of activity lately? It's not common to have nerve pain between these two toes. If it's ball of foot pain, the pain would be primarily on the bottom of the foot.
@kellydione29
@kellydione29 9 дней назад
@@FootGeekzTV It really doesn't hurt to touch it, no matter how hard I press. Id say yes, the pain is mostly on the bottom, especially as my toes flex mid-step; so I am walking with shorter guarded steps. I put ice on the top of my foot yesterday for over 30 min and it felt good but didn't remove the pain.
@FootGeekzTV
@FootGeekzTV 8 дней назад
@@kellydione29 I don't believe it's morton's neuroma type nerve pain or gout. However, it appears to be related to you loading the area on push off, especially if you take longer steps that cause you to push off harder on the ball of the foot. Do you have a longer second toe? It may be sesamoiditis, but that would mean the pain is under the big toe joint. You may have morton's toe, watch this video to learn more: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7ZNpYJLKKdU.html. Either way you will want to offload pressure on that area, either with a stiffer soled, rocker front shoe, a metatarsal pad, or a cut out of some type to relieve pressure on the area. At least until it's healed.

Hi, I usually wear UK 10 and I find it comfortable to walk for miles around without any problem. Recently I bought a new walking shoes of UK 10 of the same brand. Without socks they seem to fit my foot perfectly well but when I wear socks I find that the my front right toe is feeling the pressure. And its just for the right toe, not the left. Why is that the case? Should I just give the shoes a break-in period?
@FootGeekzTV
@FootGeekzTV 10 дней назад
Shoe manufacturing is not a totally accurate process and in some cases shoe materials may be let out or tucked in too much around the last of the footwear and hence result in minor changes at the fitting level. Extra stitching on shoes within the same brand can also cause the upper to tighten around the foot, causing the shoes to fit a little snugger. Perhaps consider wearing a thinner sock with them or have the shoes stretched a little at the point of pressure to reduce pressure and discomfort. Check our video on point stretching here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iTAZifnr1R4.html

If your arches are overpronating, rolling inwards, and there is a valgus deviation at the ankle the Achilles tendon may be stressed, which can cause additional tension in the calf muscle, which attaches at the back of the knee. Have you tried arch supports or heel lifts?

Best video about shoe sizing that I have found on youtube! I bought a pair of Asics Kayano 30 size 45 in wide version but they aint snug around my heel. I lace them up really hard with runners knot but they still dont hold my heel as the standard width Kayano. I have one thumb spare in the front of the foot. Should I try to go down half a size to a 44.5 instead? When I place my foot on the insole at the floor (as u showed in the video), my small toes are lying outside the insole on the standard size. The wide versions sole fit all my toes. My old shoe was kayano 28 in size 44 normal width and the sidewalls in the toe box got big holes due to my feet are a bit wide in the forefront. I reckon my old shoe was too small. Thus, I figured 2E (wide) would be a better fit for me. How much space do I need at the front of the toe box? One finger or one thumb? Would going a half size down make the shoes fit better in the heel and give that snug feel? I will only have 7mm and 9 mm extra between toes and front of shoe if I size down. In the wide size 45 I have 10mm and 12 mm extra upfront.
@FootGeekzTV
@FootGeekzTV 15 дней назад
I would try sizing down in the wide fitting and see how that fits. The wide fitting sometimes fits longer than the regular width, so you may be able to get a better fit for your foot there, especially around the heel. 7 to 9mm should be enough length.

@FootGeekzTV 15 дней назад
Night splints can help relieve tension in the fascia and calf muscle. There are many models. Ideally the night splint will pull the toes upward towards the shin while resting. This will prevent the fascia from contracting at night. Some are more sock like, like the Strassburg sock and others are smaller like this one: shopfootsolutions.ca/orthoactive-soft-plantar-fasciitis-night-splint/ - if you don't like sleeping with socks you may not tolerate these well. Stretching the toes upward towards your shin before you get out of bed can achieve the same effect.

So how do you know if correct or too much support?
@FootGeekzTV
@FootGeekzTV 15 дней назад
The support should feel comfortable under the foot. There should be evenly distributed pressure under the arch. However, you don't want to feel a stabbing feeling like there's a rock in your shoe or someone pushing a fist into your arch (that's too much). If they foot feels tired and painful at the end of the day, the support is too strong or non-existent.

Mostly you'd notice tingling or electric shock type discomforts running through the 2nd and 3rd or 3rd and 4th toe. Swelling may be present between the metatarsal joints and you may notice some pea like shape in between the toe joints (swollen nerve). If there's swelling in the toes and ball of the foot it may be bruising of the metatarsals or a potential stress fracture.

Can you get these in UK 7.5? UK sizes are usually available in full and half sizes. But I'm still wondering if they are "too big" because I can feel about 1/2" of space when I press down on the front of these shoes in front of my big toes... @@FootGeekzTV Thanks for taking the time to reply. Yes as you are saying I think it's just a case of me probably worrying a little too much about the 10.5 sneakers "looking" slightly "big". When I first tried them on at the store recently, and then again here at home a couple of nights ago, just standing in place, these shoes don't feel loose or even big. Because they fit fine around the ankle area and up thru the middle of my foot, to the point of my foot where the side of my foot is the widest (I don't remember what you call that). So I realize now that only because I know they are actually a half size bigger than the 10's that fit me perfectly, and because I can see that they look slightly longer - only because of these reasons have I been thinking about this up much since I bought them. So I guess I think unless I find another two size 10's in these exact sneakers at my local store, then I will just keep these 10.5's to use for myself. Btw I looked at your video about how to tighten up shoes that are actually loose, but with these two 10.5's I don't think I need to do that. Since from the base/ankle thru the middle of my foot it feels good in each shoe. So I realize it's only a matter of there being up to half an inch of extra space at the front of the sneaker in front of my toes, and my feet don't feel "loose". I just have to keep my OCD thoughts at a distance! But I thank you again for your reply!
