Hi thank you for this great video. Im trying to learn gluten free baking, and am learning by watching videos. In this recipe you mention 3 1/2 cups flour or 320 grams. my understanding is 1 cup of flour weighs 120 grams. Did you mean to say 420 grams? Thanks Peter
Yes, I should have said 420 grams not 320. It's sometimes hard to bake and talk at the same time LOL. Thank you for catching that. The recipe should be linked in the description of the video.
Dude!!! I just found your channel, i am currently planning to try this and other recipes. I have a feeling my quality of life is going to increase lmfao
Its beef broth or roast broth drippings.. not water or chicken .. this isnt greek it would be bland with cinnamon in it ,... Where is corn stratch...didnt see that either this isnt greek ..
Hi Jamie……I have never tried Caputo’s but I could probably tolerate it. I’m gluten sensitive and don’t have celiac. The bread looks delicious, but I just wish it wasn’t cooked in covered heavy pot. I don’t plan to purchase one as I have absolutely no more room for another pan! But I’m guessing one could “probably” cook it on a parchment lined cookie sheet and just adjust the cook time as needed. I’m not an expert baker, so I could be wrong! -Brenda
Yes, I understand not having room for additional things like pots and pans....especially large ones! I think part of why it bakes well is the heat that the pot is able to retain. I wonder if maybe a little higher temp and cooking it in a round cake pan would work. The sides to a cake pan are a little higher and would help retain the shape better. It would of course be an experiment of trial and error.....which seems to be gluten free baking life in general lol
Just saw this video for the first time and looks so yummy and delicious 🤤 can’t wait to try this recipe and thanks so much for sharing hope you have a wonderful blessed day today in Jesus Christ our wonderful Lord God and true savior of our soul into heaven and out of hell ❤(forgive her of all our sins past present in future. Hope you take into consideration. Have a wonderful day.)
I would try it with whatever salt you typically use at home. You may find that the amount may need to be adjusted some after making them the first time but other than that you should be good.
I love that Weight Watchers has updated and changed their points system to keep it current and help it work for people to be successful with their weightloss journey. Thank you so much for watching and sharing that update.
Jamie, what do you think about rising and baking in the same vessel? I would think/hope that would prevent deflating. Also I'm excited for this recipe as I have all ingredients. Thanks again and let us know what Tara thinks
This breaks my heart because everyone is touting this flour, but it’s a wheat allergy for me. Oh well, kind of used to disappointment anyway.🤪 However, I love your channel!♥️
Sorry to hear that. Look at this video and see if it would work for your diet…..if you haven’t seen it of course lol. It’s multiple flours but the link to the original recipe is in the description and it shows gf flour swaps as well. The recipe is pretty easy to follow as well. My daughter LOVES Panera’s Mac and cheese. Unfortunately, she can no longer tolerate gluten. I just made this and OMG it’s better than Paneras. I didn’t have heavy cream so I substituted 1 cup of heavy cream for 2/3c milk and 1/3c melted butter… delicious!!! I love the jovial brand for pasta. Thanks for this recipe!!!
I’m so glad you liked it. Even gluten free it’s probably cheaper than Panera lol. I love your heavy cream substitute tip! GENIUS!!👏👏 thank you so much for sharing your experience with the recipe and I appreciate you watching
Thanks for the video! I'm going to try it out tomorrow :) Quick question - did you preheat the dutch oven with the lid on it? never used a dutch oven before
This recipe says to preheat the dutch oven uncovered but some recipes (like the one I hope to have out later today) has the dutch oven being covered during the preheat process.
@@SavorySaver Looking forward to it! For the uncovered method, do you put the lid outside the oven (unpreheated) or do you put it in the oven separately (and how do you protect that?)?
Let me know how it comes out with your changes. I think the banana is going to add some good moisture and texture to it. Thank you for watching and sharing your changes
@@tracychow7989 Gluten Free can be that way often, even when making recipes additional times. I like the idea of baking it a little less to see if that helps. It could also be the gluten free cake mix. Another brand may give you less dry results.
Not that many years ago, I thought the heat settings on my cooktop indicated how fast food would cook. I cremated a lot of things on high before I learned otherwise. I say this to convince you that I am *not* a good cook. I followed this recipe to a tee - leaving out the optional half and half - and what I got is a delicious soup that I would have thought beyond my ability. If *I* can do it, you can do it. Dive in. Yum!
I'm so happy that the recipe worked out well for you. In regards to your cooking ability, give your skills some credit and celebrate because you just made this soup. We all make errors and misunderstand things when cooking....sometimes even after making the same recipe a few times. Thank you so much for watching and sharing your thoughts on the recipe and your cooking story.
Boil your noodles separate. rinse them in cool water to get all the starch out and make them springy. Strain them, Then add them into the broth. about 10000% better.
Great to know. Thank you for sharing that. I don't have Kroger near me but I get to one a few times a year so I'll have to check it out next time I'm at one!
Looks delicious Jamie! I made a homemade version of the Lipton onion soup mix that I would probably use in this recipe. I will definitely have to try this as we love mushrooms. ❤-Brenda
Hi Jamie! I’m just now getting a chance to watch your copy cat Texas Roadhouse biscuit/rolls video and I must say they look really good! Question: after slicing them horizontally, do you think they would be too crumbly if you tried to make a small sandwich with it? We have Texas Roadhouse in our area of central Virginia too, but we haven’t eaten there in quite a while. As I recall, their salads are also very good because they are usually so fresh and crisp. Thanks so much for this video! ❤-Brenda We are on vacation in Reno, NV and I just now have a chance to catch up on some of my favorite RU-vid channels, yours being one of them!😉
Hi Brenda, I hope your vacation is nice and relaxing....or an adventure if thats what you were seeking😃 Yes, we've been slicing them horizontally even though they are relatively thin and they have been holding up for that and a serrated knife works best. I asked Tara for her thoughts because she's eaten more of them. She said they sliced better before they were frozen but she thinks they would still hold up to make a small sandwich. She also suggested making them a little bigger so they would hold a little more filling wise if you went that route. I hope this helps. Let me know should you have any other questions. Have fun on vaca!
