Thanks for the comments. To be honest it's one of the bikes with a 22" front wheel that I don't notice much difference, it turns in really fast on bends and is plush on long distance rides, maybe the steering damper has something to do with it. The keyless ignition and steering lock are ok, but it is a pain taking the key out of the fob for the fuel cap. ✌️

Hi! I love my SM650. I'm glad there are more riders who love it. I live in a Harley biker area but I still manage to turn a lot of heads and sometimes people ask about the bike. I was torn between the HD Nightster, the Interceptor, and the SM650. The Nightster was a complete letdown. The Royal Enfield dealership had the three 650 (at the time there wasn't the Shotgun) and I opted for the Super Meteor 650. I'll be switching the 15 teeth sprocket for a 16 teeth and the Hagon rear shocks soon. Greetings from Algarve
@motechRevolution
@motechRevolution 7 дней назад
Before you go for the hagon shocks, try it on its hardest setting. Overall it's harder but is like night and day from the factory soft setting or even mid way. Mine is great now solo or with my wife.

Yes I get the 16 tooth option, but I'm happy at 110 max on it, if I want motorway or long distance I have the Voge 900 DSX enjoy the summer riding ✌️

@motechRevolution
@motechRevolution 7 дней назад
The ride is great on the hardest setting, even on a lower tyre pressure it regularly bottomed out on the middle setting. The back jarring was so painful. That said we do have really bad country roads. Lots of tree roots and pot holes. I'm 79kg and the rear shocks are the only bad part of the bike. I can live with the rear shocks now even with a pillion. Thanks for the comments ✌️

Might try it solo, with the bike weight and a passenger I wouldn't fancy the rear wheel walk you get on bends with lower tyre pressure, if every country bend here wasn't covered in sand it would be a good option. ✌️

Everyone is entitled to there opinion. Not a problem, but remember when Chinese bikes hit Europe and the US, many were cloned under license. There was the same sentiment about them it was only a couple of decades after the Japanese aggression of WW2. The Chinese were supported by the US in that war. So perception is a strange thing. How about Apple building all there stuff in China? I am sure my Voge will stand the test of time, Top components and a BMW approved Engine. Ride safe. Ps I have owned many Suzuki motorcycles, considered here in Europe at the cheap end of the Japanese bike market, but yes bullet proof.

Had a cast wheel pearl white 3rd gen DL650 that I put 50k trouble free miles on. Reluctantly traded it and a '17 DR650 for a blue Z900RS. Loved the Z, but missed the DL. Stumbled upon a new black '22 650 XT Adventure. Bought it and now I'm happy again. Just got back from a 1K mile trip in Idaho/ Oregon with side cases overloaded, my girlfriend and a loaded top box. The little Vtwin pulled up long highway grades at 80 mph with ease. Got to Brownlee reservoir and this stretch of road is as twisty as twisty gets. I can't believe how well these bikes corner. Totally flickable. I have 2 900's, a regular Z and an RS and the DL goes through the back roads better than both. I have a '23 SV 650 as well which is known for excellent handling and still my confidence is n the DL. Talked to a Suzuki tech and he said these bikes go out the door and they never see them again. One 1st gen had 300,000 miles on the original engine. Anyway, The new P strom is probably a good bike, but will never earn the following of the DL line. A cool looking bike that I'm proud to ride.Good review. Where are you riding? It surely isn't the UK.

Have a 2018 VSTROM DL 650 (cast wheels) but added akrapovic exhaust, skid plate, barkbuster hand guards, radiator guard and few other FARKLES. I've learned creative slow maneuvering w/30" inseam. Have Ninja 650 to enjoy a sportier ride on occasion; a bit vibey but flickable and fun. Now faced with potential of letting go of one to allow for the GSX 8R. Difficult decision since I remain unclear as to how bullet proof these parallel twins will be along with the added electronics/TFT. Need a bigger garage and a bigger wallet to increase my stable otherwise tough decisions lie ahead. Enjoyed your video!

It really would be weird design if the boxes could not be removed from the bike without alen keys. A short phone call to the dealership would also answer this question! I know I would try that first if I couldn't figure it out myself. I prefer the bike without the boxes. When I get it, I plan to ride daily without them, and then put them on for trips.
@motechRevolution
@motechRevolution 9 дней назад
The problem I have with the 2 small Alen bolts holding the side boxes make it very easy, especially if parked up.for someone to take them pretty quickly without a key. My shad boxes on my Vstrom are impossible to remove. To get to frame the box has to be removed first. Even just getting the handle open requires unlocking then pushing in the lock to release the handle. All the Loboo boxes need is an extension on the clasp that covers the Alen keys when locked. It's not rocket science lol. Then yes you could keep the Alen bolts. Ride safe ✌️

Hi Paul. Nice overview. Yes Benelli and QJ are the same company. The QJ 700 was remade and called secretly "pro" without getting more expensive (as i remember Mazocci suspension, brembo brakes etc) Sold in germany for 7999 sometimes even less. The Kove i found even earlier because of the great 450 Rally. The Kove 800 is the T7 Yamaha never build. Super attractive because of being an ADV Bike that is focused on off road without huge compromises for on road. There are only some points why i haven't bougt it: - no importer dealer in germany - wasn't available even in other countries - Kove (someone told me) has no own productions!? So the engine seems like the KTM 700 engine CF Moto use I am still happy with the Voge 900. It isn't " the off road bike" but it's brilliant for traveling, maybe after some training for me even off-road. Other options would be the CFMOTO 450 MT, if cheaper the Kove 450 , by look the new Himalayan.

Great comments, I like the idea of the MT 450 for a bit of green Laning, whether I could justify owning it as well as the 900 DSX I'm not sure. The Kove 800 will be available soon in Spain. But for adventure touring the 900 DSX ticks all the boxes for me. Ride safe ✌️

Thank you for the information! There are still no factory boxes here in Magyarország, but based on these, I think I will choose another solution. The passenger seat is also problematic for me. According to my partner, it goes downhill. The handrail is also very much under the bottom, and my partner is 162 cm and 50 kg, he doesn't have a big bottom! The passenger footrest is very comfortable but completely vertical. That's why you can't resist with your foot when braking. He also slides forward in the seat while he can barely hold on.... So the passenger issue is also a problem for us....
