Throwback to why we have an age limit on gymnastics. China was sending 10y/o and younger bc they were more flexible and could do more. China always trying to get the upper hand in these games.
It's definitely ruining the sport for sure. Not only are the comment sections absolutely toxic with racist and xenophobic comments, the website doesn't even filter gross comments said about kids from some countries. At the same time they'll censor any negative comments said about the US or Great Britain, really disgusting. And a lot of the news they publish without even verifying just because they read it from some really unreliable news sources. The way they approach swim news is that they want to push their agenda, it is pretty much propaganda at this point
As for China I think punishing those who are not cheating would be unfair. I’m guessing a lot of those athletes testing positive do not know they’re doping. As a swim coach I know just how easy it would be to manipulate athletes to take banned supplements, and add in their country’s desire to win at all costs, it’s all a recipe for disaster.
Yeah, I too really feel bad for a man who won 5 gold medals in the last Olympics. What a TOUGH road that must be. Come on now. It's not like he's Michael Jordan. Dressel could walk into almost any McDonalds anywhere and no one would even recognize him. Give me a break. Let's save our sympathy for people who deserve it.

Well kind of they are. They let certain people post whatever the hell they want and then I have to be on some sort of awaiting approval with my responses, even though I’ve never done anything. They cater to chaos.
Every sport has a swim swam equivalent, some stuff they do is great other stuff no so great The great athletes learn to deal with the media pressure and speculation - it’s just part of the game in professional sports, unfortunate but it is what it is

I think that as China cheated, only the swimmers that actually got positive should be able to compet. The others should be banned because that would be obviously unfair to all of the other swimmers like Cody Miller for example that train very hard every single day only to be beaten by cheaters.
