I want to do this to my x31 :p i ordered a battery for it, i use this thing if i ever need to do any typing, and got send 2! I didn't complain! 5 star company :) nice video man! Lovely thinkpad
I have a 40gb HD IDE that I removed from an old PC and I want to install it on the iMac G3. What is the format, or format it first in NTFS or FAT or another format?
Would a MacBook 2016 12" be usable with Sonoma? Mine is on monterey right now and it's perfectly fast enough. I use for RU-vid mainly and reddit. The MacBook air in this video clearly can't handle Sonoma with the 4GB of ram, it locked up just loading RU-vid lol, but 8 should be fine right? Or should I stick with Ventura?
yo brother great english btw and i have been watching you from years and years your the only person i come to watch tech vids and i have a question as one of the oldest subscriber would you be kind enough to make a video about how to install windows 10 on same macbook i did Monterey just like you i did every thing you did but i want windows 10 so can make a vid or maybe even type it how do i do can i do it by bootcamp or what
This was painful to watch. Metal pliers to remove the ram? It looks more like a teardown, for parts, than an attempt to re-assemble and still have a working machine! I understand from a later video that the MB connector got destroyed and that the machine no longer works.
My brother, I have a device of the same size, but it is an Optiplex 780. Do you accept the development and installation of the graphics card, processor, and RAM up to 8 GB? Please answer me.
My MacBook A1211 has some keys that don't work, I'm going to change the thermal paste and take the opportunity to clean it completely, including the connection flats.
Something that might help if you ever have to do this again is you can use a heat gun on the plastic and it will make the plastic soft so it doesn't brake, the plastic is brittle because it's old and dried out. Just putting that out there for you seeing if that might help you for the next time. God Bless and have a good one.
Hey great job man and thank you for sharing. Could you clarify the out-put voltage you used for the display please. Some of these generic power supplies aside from 12V, also provide 9V and even 5V. Did you use the 12V output?
If the display is very important to you then the HP but I would choose Lenovo over HP any day. I'm not the biggest fan of them. The Elitebook lineup is pretty ok though I must say.
The content was fine and very useful but enduring your dork chatter until you got to the meat of it was truly painful. This could have been 25% as long and 200% better.
Still have one, pretty fast on Windows 7. Wish there was a screen replacement avaliable where ilive though :( Was previously my mothers laptop, and i was thinking of giving it back if i can fix it (all she does is facebook
Thank you so much for this video. I can confirm this did work for me this MID JUNE 2024 and all your drivers also worked except the audio driver which windows just did not want to scan so i just got lazy and used the bluetooth with my speakers, which is just fine. The performance is surprisingly good tbh for this late 2011 MBP and i'm going to try this on a 2009 macbook in a few weeks. lol - i have NO IDEA why bootcamp causes so much issues, i never would have tried what you suggested on my own - thank you so much for this :)
I recently bought one of these for about 40 USD, an i5 3470s at 2,9GHz with 8GB RAM, and installed Linux Mint on it. Almost 12 years old it works like a charm. Love it!
My father has a lenovo c7 and probably its motherboard must be changed. Considering u found a new one but with more powerful components (intel 10980 instead of 10875 and rtx 2080 instead of 2070) do you think I can easily swap it without strange problems?yes it's exactly the same model but with more powerful parts
I cant' guarantee it 100% of course but there is a good chance of it working out. I did similar things to some other Lenovos (mostly Thinkpads) e.g. replacing a Core i5 board with an i7 and it worked every time. So as long as the connectors all match up it will probably just boot up with the better hardware.
Excellent Video! You mentioned not installing Windows 10, but now 2024 most apps on the Windows 8.1 RT either act erratic or dont work at all (Microsoft store) and the Internet Explorer also acts erratic. Anything that allows newer software access gives some life and options to this neglected machine :-) I would not recommend for anyone who is not computer literate and likely the limited 2GB RAM would cause issues overall like most Windows 7 machines upgraded to 10 which cannot handle multitasking the constant Windows 10 updates unless frozen from computer management (this Nvidia Tecra only has 1mb L2 cache, good 12 years ago for 32bit but not today). If you want to test I have a 64gb drive RT so Im considering partitioning the drive to have 40gb available to test and keeping 8 on the drive. Again, excellent video, thanks for taking the time to make it!
I put the T9300 in an ACER ASPIRE 5720Z a few days ago. Good price-performance ratio. Performance, I think 100% more. Uploaded newer BIOS. Problem with RAM up to 2 GB, not yet solved.
@@MacintoshMen I still have an ASPIRE 5720Z. If I can get RAM that is willing to cooperate, that would be cool. I have other, newer computers for daily use. I recommend Q4OS for older laptops. The T9300 is currently running in a Maxdata Belinea b.book 2.1. I confirm the processor works correctly with much better results. Upgrading to 4 GB of RAM also helped a lot. It works well with Q4OS and Windows 10. Windows, of course, has been cleaned of blocking tasks. YT can be played with 1080p resolution without any problems. Regards.
Man, before I got into Apple and bought a MacBook my only real experience was my bosses old unibody. It was insanely slow.. he had tried to offload his new iPhone (256gb) onto it (also 256gb) and it never worked right after that failed transfer. I clicked around and doing basic stuff like opening Safari took 3-4 minutes. I couldn’t even imagine a core 2 duo machine.
Hi, I just came across this video today and found it very interesting and informative. I do have this very same Apple laptop (Core i7, 1.7 Ghz, 8 GB RAM) which I bought used in mint condition on eBay for just 180€ 2,5 years ago. I installed Open Core Legacy Patcher on the system in order to use current updates of macOS. Mine is running OS Sonoma (14.5) without any flaws and the previous versions to it for more than 2 years. This MacBook Air has become for various reasons one of my favourite „daily drivers“. I do own quite a number of older MacBookPros and Lenovo ThinkPads, as well as Apple iMacs and a Apple Mac mini M1, Apple iPad Pro M1 and older variants. All along with various older iPhones an „old“ iPhone XS (bought used 2 years ago) being my most modern one which still is still supported by the latest iOS 17 … For just the most common tasks in daily computer work this thing is perfect for meI I don’t edit videos on it and I do not play games other than chess on it 😂. PS: I also have a Late 2008 MacBook Pro 15“ Unibody in excellent condition which I bought 2 weeks ago for just 35€ (advertised as „broken“ because it had no hard drive anymore), put a SSD into it and installed Sonoma as well. It also works flawless … 🙂Removed the fancy new background in exchange for a more classic one though.
