The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is the Racing Capital of the World and has played host to some of the biggest names in auto racing history. IMS is the largest sports-seating facility and hosts the largest single-day sporting event in the world, the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge. IMS also hosts other NTT INDYCAR SERIES races, NASCAR, IMSA and much more.

Liberty Media and FIA (along with some drivers) would be too afraid to bring back the 500 and count it for points in F1. Move Monaco back to the 13th and then race in the 500 again with a special aero package. (let me dream)
Back when F1 cars actually sounded like something. Funny that JPM got to actually do NASCAR but Gordon never did F1, or even Indy. Gordon at the 500 would have been so cool.
This is up there with Dale Sr winning the 500. I had finished work and rushed home, got there with 20 laps left. My dad and I literally losing our minds when Tony won. It was not a huge win but rather THE WIN of Tonys Career
From the days when a mistake had such total consequence, so race car drivers were a different breed. I respect anyone who can floor the pedal on an F1, Indicar or Hypercar in the rain at Le Mans, but this early era of racing had something just a bit more gladiatorial

A historic day for my country 🇨🇴. Thanks JPM, i always enjoyed the indy 500 when i got the chance to watch it on live and of course the history of this great race. And of course , an important event in the context of the conflict CART-IRL
