How is the automatic gearbox on the Yetis? Is their a certain year I should look for whe the DSG became better? Im thinking 2.0 diesel , DSG and 4x4. Or is the manuell gearbox a cheaper safer choice?
That interior makes the FIAT 500 look like a luxury car. Congrats BMW, you´ve succeded in making this new Mini uglier than the previous gen, just to keep up with tradition
7:40 I'm from the USA and really appreciate your video. Are Racoons indigenous to the UK, or are they an invasive species? I kinda though the US was the home of the Racoon.
Nice review! Just watched and listened to this for the first time ever on 18 June 2024. I've owned a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon (JK) since April 2012. It was a factory order; the dealer installed about $10,000 worth of add-ons to my Rubicon prior to my taking delivery of it. Some twelve years later, I have a little under 45,000 miles on it. I had it in Utah from April 2012 to February 2017 when I shipped it to the Island of Molokai. (I owned various Land Rovers, 88" and 109" "Series" vehicles from 1964 to 1993.) My Jeep has been vastly more reliable than any Land Rover (or Rover car) I've ever owned. The only part that's failed to date was the OEM navigation system. I've never had any oil leaks; never had a speedometer head or speedo cable break; I've never had a cracked exhaust manifold; I've never broken a rear half shaft; my Jeep's petrol V-6 does not lay a cloud of black smoke each time it starts up. Obviously, this means I'm speaking about my Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon rather than something made in Solihull during the British Leyland era! I've never driven my Jeep Wrangler coast to coast. This is something I did several times with Land Rovers--four cylinder petrol ones at that--while owning Land Rover vehicles. We had a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland diesel. We sold that in January 2019 prior to moving from Utah to Hawaii. The Grand Cherokee, because of various emissions related issues with the EGR system, was far less reliable than my wife or I care to mention. Would I recommend the present (JL) generation Jeep Wrangler to someone in Great Britain? Absolutely! Both my wife and I are deeply impressed with our Jeep Wrangler. Oh no! I hate no hood scoops. I’ve had an ‘04, ‘09 and ‘21 Cooper S. All manual transmissions. The final year of gas/petrol engines will be my next MINI…as long as a manual transmission is available.
At last a review with RHD , now I can see what it feels like, if you know what I mean!! Giving this some serious thought as Tiguan just looks horrible and not the same amount of space. Nice review! all the facts with no pointless pics or videos. Not sure on that colour, but the overall choice seems very limited.
Need to decide between the plug in of this, the Superb or Enyaq for next Company car. Fabulous part of the world, spent every summer holiday in Kerry as a kid (Caherciveen is Mum's home town). You need to get a bike over there Tim but blag an ADV type, not sure you'd have any fillings left on the MT10!!
So, I thought would add a comment. I have today been to test drive the new Skoda Superb 2024 with a view to buying one at the end. It is a beautiful car and the electronics are incredible. Of particular note are the amazing travel assist functions which are simply outstanding - incredible road holding. I have already had 2 Superbs and am very familiar with them. My current one, which already has over 100,000 miles on it is only 3 years old and has the virtual cockpit and all the functions available at the time. Despite initial software problems, it is now a great car. So, what about the new one? Well, it is bad news frankly. There are two things that are a massive downgrades from the previous model and are, for me, show stoppers. The minor one is the centre arm rest, which used to be very soft and very adjustable. The new one is very hard, uncomfortable and only opens along the centre - it is therefore not adjustable, which is very frustrating. It would not have stopped me buying the car ultimately, but it is way worse than what it replaces - why on earth would Skoda do that? However, the really big deal are the seats. I am 6 feet 2 in tall (around 188cm) and weigh over 110kg - yes, I need to lose weight! Anyway, the original seats were such a selling point to me as they were just so wide and comfy - absolutely wonderful. The new ones are full of ventilation blah, electrics, massages etc. They are, however, 3-4cm thinner at the steering wheel end than the old ones. They therefore feel very uncomfortable and are jamming your bum in place rather than just letting you sit there comfortably. Try as I might, I could not get comfortable and have, extremely reluctantly, walked away. I have waited over a year for this and am absolutely gutted that Skoda could have been so stupid as to put such terrible and uncomfortable seats in their top-of-the-range car when they had such good ones already. I turned up today to buy one, but have ended up walking away very disappointed. I have no idea now what car to buy next, but it will almost certainly not be another Skoda. Gutted.
I own this car petrol engine version and being an ex owner of cayenne and GLE 3 yrs each I can confidently say this is a much better car all rounded for me… it’s v spacious compared to both, infotainment system remarkable compared to both, driveability amazing and not less than them for sure in anyway.. price wise, where I am cayenne, Q7 or GLE are at least 25k euros more expensive! Anyone in the market for luxury SUV I highly recommend checking it out.. best of luck🙏
I believe the bug with temperature when using Google Auto/Apple Carplay is fixed with the latest software update. So Ive heard at least. Love the Kodiaq thou, but i cant decide if i am gonna go for the Kodiaq or the Superb next year. Or the Passat .......
Hahaha. Sorry. Can't charge at home so EVs don't work for me yet, and I do big miles so I'd rather diesel than a petrol most of the time. I realise this isn't true for everyone though!
I recommend driving The Wild Atlantic Way if you ever get a chance, the roads and scencery are incredible. We were incrediablly lucky with the weather when we done it, managed to do the two week trip with zero rain.
I own one, have done for over a year. The engine is a peach, the suspension is absolutely horrendous (even with the Mazda F variant rear dampers released to stop the bouncing rear end), and can become immensely tiresome on long journeys , you get out feeling like you've done a round with Rocky Balboa. I installed Koni dampers which helped but hasn't solved it. If you want a comfortable everyday ride, this isn't the car for you, over time you become less and less wanting to drive it knowing your teeth will be rattling their fillings out.
Front looks fine, rear doesn't look good. Also, despite the extra space, I am not too keen ok the rear overhang. The refreshed (2023) Kodiaq looks better than this and still plenty practical.
Both, the new Kodiaq and also the Tiguan come with a surprinsingly bland design (at least in my eyes), it‘s really a step down from the previous models with their distinct looks. Remove the badges and those could easily come from one of the numerous Chniese brands without any identity on their own. Too bad…
i am 10 days into driving pleasure...its a great car..one problem...cup holders dont take a bottle of coke... 24 plate with 650 miles on it...homura..awesome... a real pleasure car...and bulletproof...
Looking forward to your superb l&k 4x4 petrol review. Interested in nvh and ride quality. I’m not a fan of the two tone 18” but if the 19” spoil the ride then I guess i might stick with them. oh and any carplay issues. Thanks
Finally a fantastic real road review. Have ordered through the fleet company the 2L diesel option. Saying goodbye to my Peugeot 5008. No better place to review the Skoda on the ring of Kerry. Your next review should be done on the beara peninsula, next door in Cork. Just as beautiful.
You'll love the Kodiaq had one for some time now. The storage capacity is insane, think I've packed 3 adults, 1 kids luggage and golf clubs before. Lovely drive aswell very enjoyable for big vehicle
I think it looks beautiful on the inside, I like the center display a lot - that rectangular screen in the previous gen was an abomination imo - and the outside looks classy too.
So now nearly every Mini is a John Cooper Works just like nearly every BMW is an ///M-car... I was very interested to learn about the different models - the Chinese one vs the Oxford one.
Great review with humor and (for me) honestly. I don't care about the bad comments cause I drove both s and c and I loved them. I was going to buy the aF56 but thankfully I ordered the F66 which is a step up in all fields for me. Ok I wanted the visible exhaust but I can live without it at the time till I decide to do something about it. Thanks again for your perspective!
I love Minis as I've had a few, but I'm having a hard time with the lack of buttons. If you have a family though, I'd go with the countryman. Still plenty of pep.
