Hi, I am Christina and this is a channel about cross stitch.
I reproduce antique samplers, the patterns can be found as PDF downloads from my website. I love the history of our growing collection and will share their stories through my videos.
I also love Christmas and Halloween and other fun stitching which I will share with you too!
Hi Christina this is gorgeous. So cool that you can trace history like that. I have a question. Didn't you stitch the white rabbit pocket watch for a friend? I bought the chart and ordered the Tim Holze piece but can't remember what count you stitched it on to make it fit Was it 36 count? Thanks.
Thank you, Phyllis! 💕 My friend, April, stitched the white rabbit pocket watch for me. ⏱ I used the Tim Holtz watch to finish the cake that I stitched for April. I used 28ct fabric, but stitched it 1 over 1. I hope this helps!
I'm not sure about the stitch count of the white rabbit chart, but I think, even if stitched on 40ct, the pocket watch would be too small for it. Unless you adapted the chart, or stitch it over one? 💕
Thank you for sharing this beautiful reproduction sampler. I appreciate the attention and care you put into researching the girl and her family. What an accomplishment for an 8-year-old! You have made a beautiful tribute to her. I was wondering if the original sampler had cotton or silk threads. Sorry if I missed that in your video.
What a beautiful sampler and a more touching story to go with it. I would adore stitching her one day, may have to get the kit and switch to a 46 count of sleeping bear. That exact fabric is my favorite, if I could only ever stitch on one fabric again, that would be it.
@@WhilstIrisNaps I am excited to order some of her other fabrics, they are quite difficult to find, but I am sure I will be able to get more at another time.
What an absolute treat !!! Thank you for sharing all of this information about this Amazing sampler with us!!!!!!! She is quite a beauty!!!. Finding a family member had to be quite remarkable!! Thank you for sharing some pictures of your trip!!! What beautiful countryside!!! I'm sure this whole experience is something that you will always remember!! 🙂❤❤❤❤❤. Sincerely, Barbara S.
Thank you for taking the time to chart this sampler and for all the incredible information you have shared with us! Such a heartwarming story. I love that you made a trip to her church and grave. I’ve been looking for a sampler with my married last name and when you posted this one to instagram I was overjoyed. She’s a beautiful sampler. Thank you for sharing her with us! ♥️
One of the best floss tubes I have watched of late , your research and presentation are impeccable, I even became quite emotional when you said you placed the bouquet of tulips and considered your journey with Sophia complete , such a lovely story and quite compelling for me , thank you Christina
Lucky for you there were clues behind the sampler. Great research & I hope someone in her family sees your reproduction & is inspired to stitch this beautiful sampler.
Such a beautiful sampler & a beautiful story of her life. I know there is a lot of samplers that you can't found information about them. Such a special story about her & being able to speak to her great great grandson. I wonder if any of her family members stitched!?! Thank you for sharing pictures of your trip, Sophia's birthplace & graveside. How sweet of you to leave flowers for her.
I love your comments and description of Sophia's sampler as well as the photos of the area she came from. Wonderful work (both the original and the reproduction)--and you're very encouraging about the ability to stitch it!
What a BEAUTIFUL sampler!!! But when I heard you mention at the end the Church's name, St Clement, I knew I wanted to stitch her. My parish is also St Clement!
Oh, how lovely, Lois! There is a village nearby called 'Terrington St Clement' and I said to my husband 'I'd love to live there, just because of the name!'.
Thank you! There isn't a shop located in Europe, however both Acorns & Threads & The Crewel Gobelin will post internationally. I'm not sure of the postage costs from the states, but I'm sure I saw a stitcher comment that the postage from Australia was very reasonable. Hope this helps! ❤
Christina, I really enjoyed learning about Sophia. I found it very sad though how in her family they kept naming their new children after those they had lost. It must have been a done thing of the time. 🤔 Wishing you the very best of luck with the release of your beautiful sampler 🌷
It seems so unusual to us now, doesn't it? But I think it was common practice then. I'm not sure how I feel about it! Thank you for your kind words, Marianna. ❤
So beautiful! Both your and Sophia’s stitching are so precise! In my advanced age, I can only admire that! Just love how you trace the original stitcher, it makes the sampler come to life. I would never be able to stitch Sophia, but, a copy of her may just have to live in my “Wish I Could” basket❤️
Hi Christina, Missed you so. What a wonderful gift you have there from your family. I am so excited for your new release. What lovely colors. You always have such interesting information on the stitcher. Is there a way to send a donation to the church to help with upkeep? Thank you for sharing. Sending you hugs and friendship. Oh my goodness, I thought of you just yesterday and here you are! Sophia's sampler is beautiful, and I admit I got all choked up when you said you spoke to her relative and visited her grave. Thank you so much for sharing her story! May we all be so lucky in the future with our stitch work. ♥
Thank you so much for this beautiful sampler reproduction and history lesson. I can hardly wait to receive my kit. Your research is amazing. This is truly a treasure.
So wonderful to see 'Sophia' and hear her story, a stunning reproduction, beautifully recreated, congratulations Christina. We are so happy to be one of the two shops stocking this gorgeous exclusive kit.
Thank you so much for all if your hard work and research. I loved the pictures from your journey and it was so interesting to hear how you met a person from her family. I ordered my treasure to stitch and will enjoy every minute.
