Why did you stop posting content? (not that it's any of my business) I loved watching your content, especially your mantis content. Do you plan on ever posting again? If you don't that's okay :)
I was then going to say crickets are not the problem, it's that when you buy them from the pet shop they're hungry, no food in them, no nutrients in them, that is the problem. I feed mostly locust. What was interesting though was my devil's flower mantis, my favourite species, I won't have an other because they were just too difficult to feed. If it doesn't fly they don't take it, you can usually find wax worms ready that are already pupating in pets at home, but they only last 2 days after hatching, and hatching maggots is too irritatating for me just because the flies don't last in tubs, so you have to start new maggots every few days, and you get escaped flies, which last months somehow... I don't want flies flying around in my house basically, and I can't keep them alive as adults.
I have a Giant Sheild and Devil Flower at home and an Orchid at my shop. Customers love her. The Devil flower is really cool looking, but it can't handle the climate outdoors.
You haven’t uploaded in 2 years but I hope you are doing well ! I only recently found your channel and have been watching all your videos and you are such a kind person 🥺 I hope all is well for you
Found looking for Orchid Mantis care info. The host is very pretty and she distracts from the Orchid Mantis. I think I mentioned how pretty she is. Wow 🤩

I've kept loads of mantis and always fed them crickets not specifically but it was a main part of their diet amongst other things and mine all lived for ages so I don't know how true it is that there poisonous I've only been told not to feed crickets as they can bite the mantis and damage it
I have an indoor mantis called chilly, a 5th instar golden mantis and an outdoor mantis that my mom found from work, an adult male named bell I hope that bell survives this winter so I can pair them together and have more
I live in Oregon and work on a golf course and have been finding a lot of California and European mantids and the last European mantid I found, I have kept and it is doing well. Not sure what it is but looks between an L3 and L5. Can’t find much info on the European mantids. And also was not sure of the legality of keeping one but it is an introduced species so I do not see a problem with it. Love the videos of all your beautiful mantids! Makes me a little more confident in my little one, and hopefully she does well into adulthood!
For Mediterranean Mantis nymphs, I put 50 holes in the top of a 32 ounce plastic container and 50 holes on the sides. Is that enough to give good air circulation? Before I put holes on the sides, I had many mysterious deaths. Do you think lack of air circulation explains that? I keep them in boxes outside. I pack them as close together as I can so wind can't knock them over, but I wonder if that makes air circulation poor. Is there a way to do both?
