Irish An English word for the language of Gaels a people who will not exist in Ireland of future where Nigerian or Arabic is a better choice if you really need to learn a second language

The cultural bubble is interesting a lot of the lads who go to Canada say the same thing. They end up just sticking with there own kind of irish group and not really integrating into Canadian society and end up coming home. Can only imagine how tricky that would be coming from a Muslim background which is so far away from modern Irish society especially with how drink focused we are for socialising. Also irish people are easy to be acquaintances with but definitely hard to get to a friendship level.

From 1923, irish was beaten into schoolkids. And failures were met with punishments. That killed off the language quite quickly.

Also in Cork in the gaeltacht they do say fear dubh and as far as i know its not pejorative but the way they use colour in cork is diff anyway. But in galways and donegal they say fear gorm. So it became part of an caighdean ofigúil (official standard that is taught in schools and that everything is published in) so i think it also depends on the dialect. But deffo the irish in schools uses fear gorm and its more widespread.

I love your video. We definitely must work harder agains racism here in ireland. Here is something that might interest you. In irish colour works differently to in english. So for example a black dog is called madra gorm. Because all things in nature that are black are gorm. Not just skin. For example a red fox is called sionnach rua not sionnach dearg. But red paint is dearg. So its fear gorm for the same reason its madra gorm. In nature black is called something different. Nearly all colours in irish are different in nature from artificial colours. Fear dubh used to be a reference to the old god the dagda and the sea god manannan mac lir. And is still used as a name for men in irish. SO the idea that its for the devil is slightly exaggerated. In spoken irish fear dubh usually means a darkhaired man or a man with dark eyes or sometimes dark bodies of water like Dubh linn.. . But as I said a horse or a dog or even leather that is black is gorm. Its the same with white skin. Bán is used for white paint. But geal is used for white skin. Google translate unfortunately is shit. But its definitely gealchraicneach not banchraicneah (white skinned) www.focloir.ie/ga/dictionary/ei/ . Its the same with green or grey. The green on the Irish flag is Uaine but the green in gras is usually glás. Orangemen of the Orange order are called fir buí not oraiste. Fear Dubh has never been used to mean in irish a man with black skin. And the idea it means the devil isnt exactly true. Its more that it refers to someone with a black beard or hair and older pagan gods. Also fear doirich (meaning the same thing) is the consort of the morrigan the dagda and in older literature he is benevolent but after christianization he becomes the devil. And in old norse gorm means tanned too but again ONLY in nature like for skin or a horse but not in paint etc. Fear dubh and fear dorcha are used a lot as names for gods in old ireland but they are also INTERESTINGLY used as pen names for people who want to write in favour of irish independance without fear or retribution from cromwell. Fear Dorcha O Mealláin was a famous irish writer. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feardorcha_%C3%93_Meall%C3%A1in .. Fear Dorcha Ó Dálaigh was also a famour irish poet codecs.vanhamel.nl/index.php?title=Show:Agent&name=Id:%C3%93%20D%C3%A1laigh%20(Fear%20Dorcha) I feel part of it is like the horned god becomes the devil so the dark god becomes the devil..

Research suggests that students of colour who have at least one teacher of colour may do better on tests and be less likely to have disciplinary issues.😅 Research also suggests that white students show improved problem-solving, critical thinking and creativity when they have diverse teachers. Being around people who are different from us makes us more creative, more diligent and harder-working. It’s really important that students have people who reflect back to them their language, their culture, their ethnicity, their religion. It doesn’t mean all the people in their lives have to do that mirroring, but they should have some. And we know that in the teaching profession, there really are not enough mirrors. However, simply recruiting and hiring more teachers of colour is not enough; we need significant systemic and cultural changes to retain teachers of colour and encourage students of colour to become teachers. It’s difficult, uncomfortable work-and it’s work we should pursue

There is no need to reinvent society. One culture, plain and simple. It is also really unfair to the natives of a countyr and culture to expect them to having only to live in a multicultural society while all the other members of that society also have homelands exclusivly to their own culture. It is simply just a great robery of european countries.

How are immigrants being 'scapegoated' Blame for the rise in crime, harassment of women and girls. No homes for the native population because they are given to immigrants, legal and illegal. No scapegoating, just the truth.

Ten million added to the UK population. I'm bad at maths, but even I can work out why there's a housing shortage. Immigrants being housed before British people in social housing in blatantly unfair.

No more leave to remain for failed asylum seekers. If failed it means they are liars. Incarcerate and deport. No more S A on Irish people . i see a 50% incestuous children rate from Sudan. Goat said no.
@jimbob2101
@jimbob2101 Месяц назад
There is an illegal immigrant crisis. Not a housing crisis. Failed asylum means leave to stay in Ireland and everyone knows. Cancel all leave to stay and deport all failed asylum seekers. Housing crisis solved. Detention camps awaiting deportation for the criminal liars that fail asylum. This is fully compliant with all international laws. Ryanair have offered a plane. 2 flights a day and the flow of freeloaders will stop immediately.

Public presentation and reality are such different issues... From my observations, most guys who publicly identify as "bi" are usual just gay. And guys who are genuinely bisexual just identify as "straight" or don't identify as anything... Also from my experience, the most promiscuous, skirt-chasing, sincerely womanizing guys almost always have a bi-curious side to them which, on occasion, they actually act on.
