RVstreet is a DIY, How-To, RV Channel and has become a fast growing, go to source on how to maintain, repair & upgrade your RV with our detailed, step-by-step videos.
We are Martin & Joanie. A married couple that decided to cash in all our chips by selling our house & all our stuff to become full time traveling nomads, living in our RV, a 2012 Winnebago Vista 35F Motorhome.
We took 18 months to make all these changes & prepare our motorhome to travel around the country. RU-vid & other online resources-helped us prepare for RV living & traveling.
As a Purple Heart Veteran with a unique mechanical back ground & life experiences-along with Joanie his wife-his sole camera person-has given Martin the freedom, discipline & confidence to empower other RVer's to tackle the jobs they once were afraid to do themselves.
Our goal is to help other RVer's. Not build a RU-vid empire.
If don’t use your AC as much, you don’t have to do this every year. I’ve own an RV where it rarely got’s hot for years and I clean my unit every other year. I’ve never had an issue. Also, covering your AC unit in the winter will help prolonged the life of the unit.
Hi my RV as been standing for 2 years. Would you recommend I still start her up first? Was worried about all the gunk being spread around the engine. I'll be replacing the fuel before starting or top up with fresh petrol
Came here to find out how to sanitize my fresh water tank and came out shedding tears and saying a prayer for Martin. I did not know of his passing. My deepest sympathy for your loss. 🙏
Great video my pump is out on our 5th wheel. I appreciate your knowledge and willingness to share how to fix things. my Shurflo pump is a 2088- 422- 144. would have that model at your link? I just subscribe to your channel.
Thank you for this video. I never thought of driving with my Tens Unit attached, great idea. The VA gave me a Tens Unit that has a 90 minute timer. I have driven with my battery operated back brace that has heating and massage and that really helps. Thanks Again.
What a legacy of clear and complete information for future RVers (and drivers) this man has left. Martin's encyclopedic knowledge was not lost thanks to his and Joanie's prolific video creation. Best wishes to you, Joanie.
Hi great video and I’m gonna fallow your instructions I have a 23 yr old HR and it needs to be polished polished. Could you spell the products I had a hard time hearing what products you used for the compound to remove the oxidation and the either reject or rejet I couldn’t tell thank you
Great job on the insulation. You actually did a better job than almost anybody out there. The wet bay was fantastic. Here’s the answer why people should not use propane to heat their RV in any temperature propane when it’s burns it omits CO2 and unless they have a fan or some type of ventilation to pull the air out through the roof or some other area and keep the CO2 levels low. They’re gonna poison themselves and they won’t wake up. The Best if you can hook up run your electric ceramic heaters and oil heat is also really good and make sure they don’t have any wheels on the heaters. On the subject of condensation having a dehumidifier they’re small electric sheep to operate and the pull the water out of the air and the moisture but you’re right again everything you’re doing I don’t think anybody out there is doing better. Great job. !! I’m a new RV my wife and I am watching your video has really helped me. Thank you very much.
I just watched the "new" water heater video and it was so amazingly helpful that I went to your channel. Now I see that the worst has happened and I am so terribly sorry. Heartbreaking. What a gift you two have been to many of us, including we who got into this hobby knowing next to nothing. People like you have made it doable. But I know you are good people in other ways too and just wanted to say how sorry I am.
Nice video and explanation. Had a Goodyear 670 blow out on the rear inner recently. TIre was only 4.5 years old. RV is garage kept, tires taken care of, pressure set correctly. Get Toyo or Michelin, I went with the Toyo M143. Stay far far away from Goodyear 670 or now the 647. We were on a smooth road, didn't hit anything. The temp outside was low 80s and the sidewall just decided to split.
The Safe T Plus can be adjusted in a 1/16th of an inch. To do that i used a 2" muffler clamp on the center link. Slammed up against STP bracket. Then i used a nickel to space the clamp from bracket until i got it perfect. Hope that makes sense.
I really want to leave this comment here. I not only watched over a dozen of his videos but I also kept them saved in a playlist in my account so I can go back over them as needed. I just found out about his passing and I am really sad, and want to say that I am super thankful for all your efforts here, you have no idea on the impact you made in the RV community. God bless you Joanie. 🙏🏼🙏🏼 RIP Martin
as a person that did pluming for 40 years, I have to ask. why do you need a HOT water heater? if you have hot water why do you need a heater? what you are working on is a water heater. also there is only one correct way to use a crescent wrench and you had it backwards at 7:19. otherwise pretty good instructions.
I don't know whether you're an electrical engineer, a mechanical engineer, or a physicist (capable of either or both), but I appreciate your analytical approach to these issues! Though your basic model for your presentation is tied to a specific brand, it is clear that the underlying advice is not limited to the brand you present and I appreciate your sagacity. What I would like to see in addition to this presentation (please excuse me, as this is the first of your videos I have seen and you may well have already addressed it) is 1) how the port on the front of the toad ends up controlling the toad's taillights and brake lights, and 2) how the toad's brakes are functional when the toad's engine isn't running and providing support for the power braking system.
Martin was none of the above, he wore many hats and I swear he could fix anything. I am sad to say that Martin has passed away so no new videos will be coming out. Thank you for your comment.
I can't believe how many times I go back and watch Martin and Joanne's videos. His videos are the best, I have no doubt when something comes up on our motorhome that I need to address, that I can look at rv street play list and he has covered that
Excellent video, Martin. I wonder if it is necessary to disconnect positive from batteries because there is no circuit once the negative is disconnected. Thanks.
INSTANT SUBSCRIBER! Love your style. From one anal to another, I can relate. However, I always feel like I'm asking "too much" out there whenever I do pretty much anything having to do with retail, medical, my doctor, you name it. Glad to see someone else out there who thinks and stresses the same way I do. And wow, some great info in this very first video I've seen from you. Looking forward to your future videos as well as seeing what you've already posted over the years. Thank you
I am sad to say that Martin has passed away but I will continue to keep the videos up,I am glad they are helpful to you. Martin loved helping people and he would be glad he has helped you.
Thanks Martin for such a great video! We are kinda living in scary times right now now. We all need to prepare for if the grid goes down. Thanks again!
