RVer’s….BETTER GET PREPARED NOW.
Supply Chain crumbling, fuel shortages, frail electrical grid, rolling black outs, harsh winter freeze shuts down utilities, hurricanes, storms, fires & more. RVer’s need to be better prepared on the power needs of their RV & have multiple backup power sources and solutions. If RVer’s & especially full time RVer’s rely solely on their onboard generator and house battery bay, they are at risk if any one item fails in either of those two power sources.
The historic winter of 2020 and especially in Texas, whether you lived in a house or an RV, this event should of been a rude awaking for all of us. It was for me, even though we did fine in that event. So many people were just not prepared. There was no water, no electricity, grocery stores were closed, gas stations didn’t have any fuel, folks lost all their groceries in their fridge and people couldn’t even keep warm.
All this year while living and traveling full time in our RV, I’ve spent countless hours thinking through what exactly I wanted accomplish and what equipment I needed to have “multiple” options for RV power. I have perfected the ability to live in our RV with 15amps if we have to.
I explained before why I didn’t spend a small fortune equipping our RV with a lithium battery bay which some of you have and especially those of you who live off grid a lot. I get that. But we don’t do that type of living often enough to warrant that kind of investment. In addition to the costs involved converting to lithium, I don’t want all my eggs in one basket. If any ONE thing goes wrong on any system, that system is down, and it’s not something I want to face in an emergency situation. I like multiple options. The military taught me these strategic skills and it’s served me well all my life.
The 5 things I’ve done this year to be better prepared going forward:
• Purchased a Honda EU2200i generator
• Purchased a Bluetti AC200P Solar/Power Generator
• Purchased a Bestek, 500watt pure sine wave inverter for the car
• Purchased (2) self contained LuminAID Packlite Max 2-in-1, USB charger and Lantern (no need to ever purchase additional batteries)
• My Zamp 230watt Solar panel that I already had
NOTE: All available in my Amazon Store
My final thoughts on what I’ve done this year:
• I did this all this for less of the cost of going full lithium
• I’m prepared now in multiple ways with diversified power sources
• I can use my Honda generator and the Bluetti AC200P together if I want or need more power
• I can use my Honda generator-using a minimal amount of fuel-to charge the Bluetti if I need to
• All these options are portable and can be moved around as I need them
• I’m not tied to-or dependent on-the grid or my battery bay in any emergency or non emergency situation
• I wanted “multiple portable options” for power. And when this traveling full time party comes to and end-and it will end some day-Joanie & I will be able to take all these options with us and move them to our 5th wheel that we’re going to settle into at our RGV site in southern Texas

Great video Martin, the only thing I would add is a piece of heavy chain and a heavy duty padlock to run through the handle of that Honda generator and then to something substantial to prevent some tweaker from walking away with it. 🤔

Thanks John 👍 I actually did do that. I also bought a 3rd party "formed metal handle" that fastens over the entire plastic grip handle on the top of the Honda to prevent anybody cutting thru that too.

Lol I can hear a left reconnaissable female voice saying you guys are crazy no one will thief your stuff. Really hum let us lock it and see how much people will search their Generators in a panic of more than 48hrs without power with possible more days to wait. Then I can hear that same female voice to her friends my husband is crazy but I am so glad we are the only one with power not being thief. So come joining us will keep cold one to cheers.

Actually, that's the first question my wife asked me to ask Martin. How the heck do you keep a $1k plus Honda Generator from walking...... My first thought is to not stay at a sketchy joint, but really how do you? Wasn't there an alarm system that would alert if moved for high-end bikes, etc.? Not sure if I'm just imagining such a device or maybe there is; BUT, a running generator would pretty much set it off anyways making that idea stupid/useless....... Not a a bad question for a sick planet..... So a high quality chain might be required.

@@spacecadet4876 actually there is, I got the metal handles, thick cable, a couple of locks, as well as a Alarming lock if it's touched. But never ever leave the area with your generator out or in site!

Couple of things I thought I would mention to you. You could get a propane kit for that generator that would give you even more options. The beauty of the kit is you can switch back and forth from gas to propane as you need. Second thing was on the lithium batteries. They do not off gas so you can located them anywhere you want, some have internal heaters. You were correct you would need a new converter that will fully charge them, but your existing inverter will work.

Super timely information. We are in MD and stopped twice getting here from FL. Second night it dropped down to 29F. Currently mooch docking and rely heavily on our EMS to manage power since we are connected to a 15a circuit. Watched this vid when you released it and we are re-watching now and the video RV 15A living too. Good stuff Joanie and Martin. Hope all is well with you. I took the oath Jan of '75 and was a USAF radio repairman assigned to a combat communications group. Know exactly what you mean and that's how and why I am detail oriented when prepping for a trip. A lot of cigarette lighter plugs in cars are wired with very thin wire - some have 18 AWG wire. 500 watts @ 12vdc is more than 40A. It should have 10 AWG for that wattage. So, if you're going to use this, be ready to replace the fuse, and use it for low loads, but if you blow the fuse, switch to the clips. Look at the AWG of the wire on the clips and let that be your guide. Here's a better idea: use a small "solar generator", which has an inverter built in, and is much less likely to overload that circuit. In fact, you might just install one in a tray under your hood! Hell, they even come with multiple USB ports! I love your videos, and hope to thank you and Joanie in person some day! Keep it up!

❤❤ Hey Martin, I just watched a video the other day on a 72 hour candle. Get the largest Crisco shortening and stick a stick candle down the middle cut flush and trim the wick to keep it from smoking. I would have posted a link, but I know you don't like links. Great show👍👍

Thanks again Martin. I recently bought a Honda 2200i and did not know about the ground plug that was needed for the generator to work with the Surge Guard. After watching your video I purchased the ground plug through your Amazon store. Now, I'm ready to go when I need the Honda to power our motor home.

Once you go Lithium and a multi plus inverter you will never go back. I already have the other items also to have several backups as we all know we need it incase. I have to have a minimum of 200 watts of AC 24 X7 for my wife's O2 generator. One more thing keep the propane and fuel tanks full.

Very timely video. I am fascinated by the whole solar generator thing. I bought a ECOFLOW River Pro - 720 wh. just to supplement my power. Curious as to why you went with the Bluetti. What sold me on the ECOFLOW line was the 1 hour charge time. I am going to an A/C fridge (Magic Chef) - $450. vs $1500 for 12V. I can plug into Shore power and when on the move my ECOFLOW will power the Magic Chef for 10 hours. More than enough hours to get to next shore power. Then I can recharge the ECOFLOW in 1 hour hour . I may move up in size but the $$$ cost can get crazy. ECOFLOW has one that has a 30 amp plug in and 3600wh I believe but it is 100lbs and $3600. Keep up the good work Martin

This is great.... I just found you...I just bought a travel trailer for just this reason. Hell it won’t be here for another week. I have, and purchased almost all of these things. Including a rv wood stove for it. I bought a 4000 duel fuel inverter gen for it. Two of the solar gen , a cpl 100 watts of solar panels.

Hey Martin, love your stuff. PM is the thing. As far as your 500w pure sign wave inverter, although the box has 500w capacity, your cigarette lighter plug has a 10 amp fuse so has restrictions on how much power it can handle - maybe 125 to 135 watts. Thus, that’s the most you will get with it. You need to hard wire it to the batteries to access all 500 watts.

Nice video Martin. I was going to make a similar comment as David E. My 400 watt inverter is limited to 100 watts thru the cigarette lighter….but in an emergency it is amazing what you can charge with only 100 watts thru the lighter plug. Very convenient to pull out when you make a supply run with the car and charge a few things along the way. Here’s hoping it doesn’t happen but good to be prepared!

I have the older Honda 2000 Watts Genny. With the Microair installed I can do the same as you did and I can also run the AC (with other stuff off of course.

I have the eu 2200 and it’s great. I would encourage you to adapt it to work on propane. There is a kit you can purchase. The fumes are about 50% less with propane.

There are USB-C to Apple MagSafe so you can use PD-60W or PD-100W directly (avoiding AC plug.) I got one for my MBP2015 (needs 85W)

The grounding plug is in my Amazon Store in the "Everything Electrical" category. www.amazon.com/shop/rvstreet Yes the plug is a special plug. The grounding plug is necessary for a generator ‘open neutral or floating neutral’ whether you have a EMS or not. The reason I brought up my hard wired EMS is because some other makers of EMS units or surge guard units do NOT allow generator power to pass thru to the RV. My EMS does if I switch the bypass switch. A really nice feature. That's one reason why I really like my brand of EMS among other things. Definition & purpose of a grounding plug: For use with generators with an ‘open neutral or floating neutral’. Some generators have a ‘floating neutral’. This might cause the Power Watchdog EPO surge protectors or any other EMS surge protector to give you an ‘open ground’ or ‘open neutral’ error code and prevent power from going into your RV. To correct this issue, simply plug this item into an unused 15amp AC receptacle on the generator. This will create a neutral to ground bond and the condition should be resolved. • Simply plug in to any AC outlet on your generator to bond the neutral and ground. • Suitable for generators with a floating neutral (most inverter generators) • Prevents “open ground or open neutral” error faults

Great video , but I must mention that Lithium ion batteries do not need to be vented. Only lead acid ( like your t-105 ) need to be vented.

You have solved the power issue it still comes down to conservation. My Honda 2000i will over heat after a few hours running the AC. So while you can run the air conditioner with soft start - be smart about it. It cools down at night, run the AC then so you can sleep. We are all different and that what makes our own decisions suitable for our own needs.

Nope not for me. I like options. I want my thirsty Onan JIC when big power demand is necessary and the smaller Honda during pinch times. The Honda doesn't take up much space or weight either. I'm already getting reports of shortages b/c folks are seeing the writing on the wall. The time to prepare is now. Outstanding - I'd suggest ONE MORE SOLUTION to ADD - this is cheap as well but got us out of a stuck boondock situation when all else failed (and I was damn thankful I had it) - GET A (5) or (4) in 1 AUTO JUMP PACK such as a CEN-TECH; not only will it jumpstart the RV main engine if all else fails so you can get out of doge, but they typically have 12v USBs, and Cigarette lighter connectors and a backup AIR PUMP -

When I found your site (after many others) I found a home - I like your style and detailed explanations of both DO's and Don'ts from experience. What took me to your site back in Q1 2020 was looking for a solution to the infamous "cracked Graphics issue" having failed to find replacements form Thor for a 2015 Axis Vegas. I can tell you I've got ALL the paint, supplies etc and just itching for spring to get going. I've been reading everything I can on the Rig and aquiring other materials for upgrades and repair. Hey Martin my Canadian season has been winterize. This summer I helped at least 15 RVer’s from my military back ground moto Anytime Anywhere. But there is 1 thing that you didn’t cover yet. So I am sharing it with you so you can be prepared for it if it’s happening to you or want to share in your next video. So next RV reach me and asking if I have power because all lights blinking then shut off. I knew he needed help. So toke my Surge Guards to his electrical post 30A 110V plugged into and campground delivery was perfect so RV was an issue but where. 1st test ok. I ask if I could go in to check something. Lights 12V and outlets 110V. So no furnace, no lights ok you got it no or low 12V bingo. But wait a minute your RV plug 110V and those are functioning from camping so even without battery you should have 12V. 2nd test ok received 110V and have no or low 12V even plug in. Now 3rd test with my voltmeter as I know 12V is bad. Battery reading 1.3V what yes one point three. So I know now the RV 110V doesn’t charging the battery but it doesn’t even directly feeding the 12V system. The 110V charger/converter 12V of the RV is done. The couple is taking about going to hotel room as nights in RV at 40F no heat no lights. And I like no way you guys will ruin your camping trip so let check 1 last thing as 4th test and a solution. Start your vehicle and plug in the 7 pins connector as you pull. Bam battery 13.56V and RV lights are full, furnace work ect… 12V can go into battery. But they didn’t want to run 24/7 the vehicle. So here what I promised to share with you Martin. I always have a 110V to 6V/12V/24V battery charger in my RV just in case of the 110V RV Charger/Converter to 12V decide to die. I let them my 110V charger plug in exterior RV outlet and plug in clamps to battery posts for their 4 camping days. I save them tones of money adding hotel cost and mobile RV repair service. For a $50 cost to own a 110V battery charger into toolbox name in case of… They had a 110V ceramic heater but needed to have furnace turn on too. Night were too cold but they enjoy their trip had lights and heat on for the last weekend before winterize and storage it at repair lots to get that 110V to 12V fix for next seasons. Have a wonderful south season of RVing. Cheers

Thanks Ben for that 👍 Great story. Yep I also carry a 110V to 6V/12V/24V battery charger for things just like you mentioned. You never know when you're going to need something like that in a pinch. But just so you know, if I covered everything I've done or what I have for emergencies, that video would probably be 2 or 3 hrs. long. Nobody would watch 😂 Maybe I should consider doing additional video segments that covers these other things. It's good to see that your one of those RVer's out there that's always willing to help others. I love the RV community. Me and you are of the same mind.

It's to correct for the grounding neutral issue. Some surge protectors like a neutral bonded ground. If your try to power the RV thru a surge protector, the surge protector won't allow that power to pass thru. The plug takes the neutral and the ground and bonds them together, allowing the power from the generator to pass thru to the the RV.

@@RVstreet Ah, Thank You very for your feedback:-0), an interesting and important device. How do you test if you are getting the electricity from the generator or not? Do you just look at your house battery monitor? Also why do you plug in another surge guard outside if you have the EMS inside already?

@@projet2907 Yes I look at the battery monitor and do other 120V things work in the RV. There should be any problem there. It's just like plugging into shore power. I use another portable surge protecter as a sacrificial/secondary device. If anything goes wrong at the pedestal my portable will take the hit first. I just like redundant protection.

Hi Guys, really enjoy absorbing your knowledge! Issue: BLUETTI AC200P... What is your sollution to the solar panel to charge this power supply? Renogy does not produce the required "open circuit" 35v, as the 200w $599 Panels can mot run in series to create over 35v. They "only" run in parrellel at 21.2v. Ups! BLUETTI now appears to work with what they say on their description of supporting the AC200P, but how without being run in series? Not to mention their inability to stand behind their warrantee if they possibly get wet. Read their reviews. Sooo... what do you recommend for solar panels that can charge them with a required "open circuit" of 35v? Good one huh! Thanks, You'r enjoyable, informative and intelligent. Need help. Last year 10-2021 I bought a GNLQ (gooseneck horse trailer with Living quarters). It has a propane generator. Horse trailer It sits next to my 30’ TTRV. If electricity goes out. I know how to use propane with my TT. For water tank and cooking, but if I wanted to use the generator from GNLQ to my TTRV. How does the “hook-up” go? How do I tap into the horse trailer generator for my TT.. I guess I can use an (20 amp) extension cord and plug into side of GNLQ to supply electricity to my TT. With adapters..I know I can live off of 15 amps! I have a power watchdog and love it ! THanks. If I figure this out I will let ya know..! Yep, it sounds fairly easy to me. You should be able to start the generator in the TT and that will bring 15amps into the TT. Then use a 12/3 extension cord and plug into any outlet in the TT-like from your microwave outlet-and run that 12/3 extension cord to the Horse trailers main power power cord using adapters. It's not the ideal way to do it but it should work. I keep a 5gal. vented gas can in my back bay with a special 1gal. can that I can fill the Honda with the ability to never spill a drop. Now I have also been working on a plan to be able to rob some of my onboard gas from my main 80gal. tank from my generator fuel line and generator fuel pump. I hope to show that fuel hack in a later video.

I tow a 2021 Lance 2375 with 2 batteries and 200wts of factory installed solar. I chose a Onan/Cummins 4500wt Inverter generator that is secured directly behind the cab. I have 4-6 gallon cans, 2 on each side also secured behind the cab.(weight distribution). 12 gallons of diesel and 12 gallons of gas. With 45 gallon tanks, water,grey and black. I want to purchase a A/C power pack. Is the Jackery worth the money and weight?

Question about battery insulation, I'm installing a 230 Ah AGM on the tongue of my trailer. The box I I'm putting it in is a couple inches larger. I'm thinking maybe rigid foam board or that foam in a can to fill the gap and Insulate the battery. I'm kinda concerned about thermal runaway but cant find much info on the topic. Can anyone give advice please. I live and camp In the rocky mountain region (Temps around, -10F - 110F) and camp off grid from May through January. Thanks in advance.

Use the rigid foam board NOT the foam stuff. In addition to that put a couple of water proof blankets over the top of everything outside and wrap it tight with bungee cords. If your batt's are lead acid allow a little space for them to vent properly.

I have 2 Honda generators and a class A motorhome. I never take the small generators because of the smell of gas fumes. Where do you store yours when traveling to eliminate the smell and keep it theft proof?

I've never had any smell of gas fumes, I store it in one of my bays and I turn the fuel OFF and run the generator dry when I'm thru with it. I'll never be without ours now while traveling so in the event of an emergency I'm good.

You will never run 500 watts through your cigarette lighter/power port. 500 watts is 41+ amps. Your power port is fused at somewhere around 10-15amps. As long as you do not need anything more than your video examples, you are good. But if you want the full 500 watts you are going to have to wire the inverter directly to the battery. (or use the clamps) Next food for thought for ultimate prepping for SHTF emergency. Convert your Honda to dual fuel so you can run off of propane if gasoline is short, and you need the gasoline to move your rig. My Honda has never seen gasoline. It has run 100% on propane since new. (no stinky gas to transport it) And got me through a week of no power after a hurricane at home, and of course powers the RV ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tfC-eV1MDBQ.html

I'm not sure how you do your math, but 500 watts is not 41+ amps. More like about 4 amps. In additional to that, since this video was made, I've ran several other things testing this unit even further and as long as I keep it right under 500 watts, like 450 or 485 watts it works just fine. But whether the amp conversion is right or not I have not had the load issue you mentioned.

@@RVstreet I do my math like this. Watts= Amps x Volts. 500w = Amps x 12v. To solve for amps, we divide 500w by 12v. 500/12 = 41.66 amps. So you are right 😀 I should have said 42 amps

That Bestek is a very good inverter for the price. I had it holding half again as many watts as it is rated for, at quite an extended period of time

Great video! One thing I never see anyone pointing out- OUR CARS FUNCTION AS GENERATORS. We purchased a 2000 watt inverter at Harbor Freight for $130 (members sale price/ regular price about $200 when not on a sale). This inverter connects to the auto battery and has three 110 outlets for extension cords. When upcoming weather forecasts or my spidey- senses compel me, I fill the car with gas ahead of time, check and top off the motor oil and park in the driveway. In power outages, I have have a NO MAINTENANCE GENERATOR that we connect the inverter to while running the car! In campgrounds that don't like noisy generators, I have an almost silent set- up! In SHTF we have a silent generator that no one will hear to pursue unwanted contact. We have used this set- up for days on one tank of gas during grid- down emergencies or boondocking. Simply run the engine as needed and watch your gauges (temp, oil, gas, charge). We previously used this method with a $40 small 800 watt inverter for lights, fan, electonics and gaming charge-up. Hope this helps those who might need to save up for the Bluetti and solar set-up like we are doing now.

I bought the Bluetti AC200P. This thing is one powerful beast, 5 ways to charge it and you can charge it simultaneously while using it. It's a real game changer. I didn't consider the AC200Max b/c I don't need the expandability and the way you hook up multiple units is to cumbersome and clumsy for me. You could but would I.....no. If my Onan went out, and required major repairs, I'd drop it out of the RV using a hydraulic motorcycle lift and fix it. I want everything onboard to be working right in the event I need or want a full 50amps coming into the coach.

As always very informative and easy to follow .If I may ask about increasing the solar panel wire gauge I rewired my fifth wheel with 8m wire and had a big Inprovement in fridge efficacy and power from the solar panels to the mppt controller and as I have agm batteries I fitted a 12 volt controller to the 12 volt output side of the batteries to protect the batteries from being over drawn . I killed my batteries by allowing the batteries voltage to get low Once again thank you

for what it's worth Lithium batteries you can run to 0 and doesn't hurt them. I have a lifepo plus 200 ah 12v it was $900. And my charger was $100. And if you have not already change out your fridge light bulb to LED it will save a ton of energy I changed every light bulb to LED bulbs it hurt my pocket book for the Tube light fixtures for sure. But I am worry free about the consumption of battery and supposedly they will last forever?? Well see

FYI Martin, I have the same coach. I have installed 4 lithium batteries in my Vista by moving the starter battery over 3". The Lion Energy UT1300 battery is the secret, 105Ah per battery! This is more power than a Battle Born, and it's in a group 24 case! That's why 4 batteries fit in my Vista. Cold doesn't harm the battery, the battery just shuts off. It will discharge fine when above -4F. But it needs to be above 32F (freezing) to charge back up. True, it wouldn't charge during the Texas freeze last year while below freezing, but that's a rare situation. And if you really want the house batteries it to work at low temps, it's easy to setup some heater strips around the batteries when you need it. That Honda can easily heat the batteries while also charging them. 2 X UT1300 lithium batteries provide 210Ah of power per charge, while 2 X T105s provides 120Ah of power (calculated as 50% discharge to keep the lead acid battery healthy). 4 X UT1300 is 420Ah of power!

Thank you Tom. I hear you loud and clear. But here's the thing with me. That would be $3740 just for batteries, and then I'd have to buy a new converter because my 4 stage converter won't work with Lith's. So that's more money. Not everybody has that kind of money to drop into a batt bay including me. And I'd still be right back where I am now only a larger batt bay. So if anything goes wrong down the road with the batt bay I'd have nothing to fall back on. And besides that, we just don't go off grid enough for long term stays to warrant that investment. And then the last thing is all that stuff would be a permanent install. I could not take it off my current rig and move it to our 5th wheel when that move happens down the road. But I do appreciate your input and if our current status or needs change down the road I will hard at this option. 👍

Great video with lots of food for thought on preparation with multiple options. Please note however that Lithium batteries do not need to be protected from freezing and do not require ventilation. There are many studies that show that Lithium outperforms lead acid in ALL temperatures including freezing. You just need to have the right setup to maintain them properly. It's not as difficult or expensive as people think. Plus, the Lithium batteries provide twice the power for the same size as lead acid and at 1/2 the weight.

Yes, BUT.......I'd still be reliant on those house batt's. Anything goes wrong there in that system-up stream or down stream- and I'm sunk. And...somebody else also called me out on the venting comment. I knew someone would do that. I was mistaken on that, however I disagree on the freezing part unless your talking about the new version of Lith's that have recently came out. Still.....I'm ahead on the money, I have multiple options and I'm not looking at boosting the capacity of my house batt's. I mean everybody has there own needs depending on the way they travel and camp. Lith's just don't fit our plans and the ROI for us is terrible.

I hate to break it to you, but don't throw away those jumper cables you don't think you'll ever use. If you want anywhere close to 500W of output from that Inverter, it won't be from a lighter plug. You'd be lucky to get between 150-200W. Both the 15amp fuse and the small gauge wiring your lighter connects with, aren't up to the task. You'd need over 40 amps at 12V to get 500W. But hook it direct to the battery and with the wires provided, you'll get 500W for awhile. Also, charging a battery pack like the Bluetti will take you about 10hrs of charging, so more than a full tank of fuel. And the conversion loss is pretty good, too. You'd be better of if you couldn't recharge with AC to just run whatever you intended to run strait from your generator. Then you would get 100% efficiency.

Didn't throw them away, and will be using them to connect to the battery when plugging in higher draw items. This has been discussed in other comments and I also pointed this out in the very first comment that I pinned. Also, I can fully charge my Bluetti in about 2.5 - 3hrs. using 2 - 120V bricks. thx 👍

@@RVstreet Yeah, didn't have time to read through the comments, didn't want you to blow a fuse or worse, burn wiring. I was talking about the 2K Watt you showed, and didn't know you were using multiple chargers. Still the chargers only put out (at least mine) 200W. 2 would be 400W. It would still take close to 5 hrs. to charge from empty. I have a special charger that does 500W and will charge my 1500W in a little under 3hrs.

A cigarette lighter is usually capable of providing 10A @ 12VDC, some newer ones up to 15A. That's only about 180 watts at 15A. You cannot get 500W AC from the inverter reliably unless you connect it directly to the battery, preferably using a 40 amp fuse.

I installed the AMP-L-START. It's little brother TRIK-L-START will also work. They both steal a little power from the house batt's to keep the chassis battery topped off.

I have an RV garage at the house where I will store the new rig. In the event of a sustained power outage, I am thinking I could run a portable generator from the outside into garage. Would a regular gas generator do the job...or do you need the Honda inverter type. Probably would get another generator to keep the home furnace running....is there a single unit that could do the job?

The Honda that I bought has a pure sine inverter built in. Read about the advantages here: powerequipment.honda.com/generators/models/eu2200i Any generator is going to have to be protected from the outside elements like rain. I'm not a generator *"EXPERT"* but here are my thoughts... A regular generator will work fine for the garage but it's probably going to be much louder, drink more gas, weigh more, be hard to move around and it won't serve a dual purpose in the fact that you won't be able to take it with you in the RV. I mean, everybody has to weigh what their needs are and what's available to satisfy *MOST* their needs. There is no perfect answer under the sun for questions like these. But for me, this smaller, portable Honda is small to store away, quiet, uses little fuel, easy to move around by one person, can supply clean 15amps for sustained power for an RV or a house when power outages strike to supply critical power. So in my world, I don't need any more power or spend more money. Plus I'm getting older and don't want something massive to move around. Hope this helps 🔧 👍

Hey Martin, I just watched your video on TPMS. I was wondering how you handled the valve stems on the outside rear tires facing inward, leaving it quite difficult to install and remove The sensor as needed.

Well I'm not sure I understand your comment but I'll give it a try. All stems should be facing outwards not inwards. On my dually's....the inside one I have your standard metal stem with about a 5.5" extension and they face outward. The outside dually also has a standard metal stem and it faces outwards. So both stems, for both tires are right there facing the outside of the dually's, therefore making it very easy to adjust the air in the tires and mount the sensors. FYI...I just replaced all 6 tires a couple of weeks ago along with stems and extensions and I have a video coming out about that total install but it probably won't be out till sometime in January or so.

@@RVstreet Thanks Martin , I have seen them both ways, I just don’t recall seeing them on 22.5 were they both face outward. Thanks again.
