Slot Cars, Laser Tag, 3D Printing and Filament recycling, and many other things that I want to share with the public, or even privately. RU-vid is a great service for that use.
Sounds to me like Wayne has not read any DiSCA sporting regulations. Section 12, “Judicial”, clearly states the actions that will award a penalty. Drivers are also reminded during the pre-race briefing. Rookie drivers get their own briefing prior to first qualifying which places more stress on basic “safety” on the track. And yes, lane changing into another car is very much penalty worthy. Look where you’re going and don’t do it!!!
LOL! Yeah, I need to step in quicker. To be fair, it's easy to kind of get lost waiting for the next sentence when he gets going. Like... the point must be right around the corner. :)
I agree with John Kit! Just retired and started this hobby for my grandchildren, a section for newbies would be great! Especially looking how to installing digital coder into F1 cars for Carrera Digital! Great info.
I'm glad that you enjoy the chat replay, but this was never intended to be a tutorial kind of thing. If you were to have been on the chat and asked for help with that, I would have told you that it's very challenging for any non-Carrera F1 car, and that it often requires significant modifications to the char and/or chip, even if you use a smaller third party chip. There are posts by people over the years on various slot car forums and facebook groups showing how they did it, but it basically boild down to finding empty space in the car, a chip that might fit, and doing whatever is needed to make it fit and connect it up.
Terrifying that these old can-am cars were literal go-karts with over 500 horsepower. Especially the Shadow Mk 1. I have no clue how the amount of fatalities were absolutely miniscule compared to F1.
Thunderslot will get two more liveries from the Ferrari Can Am car. I believe the #4 Gunston raced in 1968 in the Kyalami 9 hours. The drivers were John Love and Peter or Paul Hawkins. Also, in 1968, Hawkins won the Capetown race in # 6 Gunston.
Saw your FB post, and I'll try to find it and post a link there, too, but this one looks the same as the ones I got, but in AU. www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0C7GYDM9Q
24h teams are given 16 x Slotit 1171 G25 tyres and 2 motors, either 2 x MN09ch Flat 6, OR 2 x MX16 21k short can. Once handout parts are issued they can be used however the team wishes. Only one pair of tyres can be taken from race control at a time. Slipstream using only two sets during the race is definitely unusual but may have been possible due to the lower downforce on LMP2 cars, the closed side of the motor can must face the track, or a higher ride height due to lower offset, bigger wheels, etc. Sports Carazing were changing tyres after approx six hours, although we did use five sets just as a safety measure to secure our third place in LMP1 toward the end of the race.
The app I use, TrackPower, is no longer available. It doesn't have any kind of track that wasn't around 10 years ago. Your best bet on Windows these days is found at uracerweb.org
Not really much different than running SSD with these guys. The printed cars were probably not the best choice for a variety of reasons, but the biggest issue was trying to learn PC Lap Counter in less than a day. ;-)
The new Australian distribution of MR Slotcars at 24:00 will be good news for slot racers in Australia and good for MR Slotcar too. An example was when NSR changed to Leeman distribution the sales of NSR went up by around s factor of three. It could be worth SlotIt and Thunderslot looking into that change further.
It turns out that a post-chat inspection of my iMac computer set-up revealed that one of the Yamaha speakers I use for external monitors on the system had fallen onto its side and was aimed directly at the microphone port on the iMac (lower rear center) so that when I spoke, a feedback loop was set up and the Auto Level Control on the mic would drop the level down to about half gain. I'd go into System Settings and mysteriously, the Input gain settings had been dropped and had to be adjusted again. Trying again to address the chat group, the bug loop would repeat itself and I and everyone else would become more and more frustrated. I apologize to Greg and all the WWSCC Group for the giant waste of time and attention. I will endeavor to persevere and do better next time I may have some meagre stuff about toy cars to share.
LOL! It's all good, John. Shit happens, and this is a perfect example of it. I'm just glad you figured it out, so hopefully you'll be loud and clear from now on. :)
Thanks so much for the video. Could you tell me the process if I want to use the SCP3 with my ARC PRO base while in analog mode with analog cars? Thank you.
That's too bad. As far as I know, the only way to send the commands to learn the track and to race is via that tower. It sends infrared signals like a TV remote. The car is pretty much useless without the tower. :(
@@ggaub oh ok but can I still race with my own controller if not do you know where I can get a tower or does it have to be brand new car and tower to work??
it's about quality, going into depth about a new livery or whatever comes onto the market. They don't offer either of these. It is nonsense that there is no money to be made in slot cars...I have proven the opposite. However, on RU-vid... with an average age group of 65 years... you won't make it with that alone. In addition, America is a nice market, but the rest is Europe. Videos about what's coming onto the market are a dime a dozen...a bit of unboxing If you look at Jim Rose's videos... those are added values.
Courtney: gasmonkey srt used the rt4 extensively over the past 3 years even in gt cars. The gas monkey 'vette was like this. Jeremy: the definition of "cheatin" is easy. It's outside the letter of the rules and having your car opened and everyone seeing what you've done would be embarrassing. The main problem with "rules" is having the time to scrutineer and enforce. No way to enforce a system based on the "spirit" of the rules. Float. I'm a believer in "everything looser than everything else". Having to car enter the corner in several distinct parts lowers the load on the guide. Think "train bogie" However, doing that and keeping all of the components upright would be a challenge for the front end. Alan.
Let me tell ya, trust me there is no money in slot cars, the maths is in front of you, my channel has 2.1 million views...that equals around 6k for 3 years worth 😂😂😂 that's it I'm retiring tomorrow 😂😂😂 My channel cost me more to run than it makes If it was about money I wouldn't be hosting a slot car channel 😊 It's got nothing to do about money legends.
I think we're seeing how much even a relatively small amount of money can make people do strange things. But, yeah... it's probably a lot more about ego than money.
I'm pretty sure they were stock tires, so whatever their normal rubber tires are. It's likely they've been oiled and/or treated in some way, if not also trued, but also just as likely to be right out of the box.
