We are making exploring the world attainable through DIY. Join us as we find creative solutions on our 1965 Alberg 30 to make full-time, small boat living a reality. When not on our boat, you'll find us in our homemade camper van or traveling the world.
The ones Andy uses in the video are expensive but he worked as an engineer for the company who made them so we didn’t pay full price 😉 if you check the description there is a much more reasonable option if you only need the tool occasionally or for a single project. 😊
Can i ask what the noise level is like? Obviously, by going with a smaller pump you will need to run the unit longer (several hours) but is the noise level disturbing?
Nice video tutorial, simple yet explanatory. Would love to see more electrics related content, maybe a side channel, there’s a lot of us looking for this type of content. Anyway thank you and keep up the good work!!! ⚡️
Is there any way for it to drain quieter into the grey tank? or does it sound like that cause the tank was kinda empty or something? Also, did you connect the pump wiring to a 12v panel? Ty!
I understand No Wake signs. What does a sign mean when it has the words, No Wake, but there's a circle with a slash through it? Is that a protest to No Wake or means no speed limit?
Nice video and good idea with the template, will definitely use that! Is that a custom exhaust mixing elbow? The Beta's I've seen usually angle off the other way (which I don't want also).
Captain Dave Owens in Virginia Beach told me to keep a stainless steel Mini-14 with an extra magazine onboard just in case … I said , in case of what , he said , real modern day pirates 🏴☠️!! … especially in the Caribbean !!
Great series, OK, question: How much of your ICW trip involved sailing vs motoring? Did you ever think: why bother doing this in a sailboat? A small cruiser might be more comfortable, and I'll bet they have a shallower draft as well. I'm a sailor, but I always wondered about that. Of course, if you went to the Bahamas, you probably have enjoyed lots of sailing there.
Fair enough. I'd like to see more content, of course, but then again I wonder about people who film every lunch they have for the sake of youtube followers. So enjoy your travels, even without the rest of us! :)
We don’t have it right now but it is something we are considering putting in the store along with the watermaker diagrams. I will work on it this week and see if I can get them available. We have stepped away from the membership platforms to focus on some exciting products we have in development! 😊😊
Great and instructive video. I'm about to install a Webasto air heater in our sailboat. The same constructions principle. In the Webasto manual they do not recommend the heater to be installed transversely to the longitudinal axis of the boat in a sailing boat. It's OK in motor boat or if the heater is used mainly when docked. What is your opinion on that issue? Any thought would be greatly appreciated.
This series is great. You seem to be quite content in the new boat. The vibe is very positive. Plus, you have experience on the ICW, so this trip seems more straightforward. And your dog has a dog friend in the other boat, so that's cool. I like the plan of planing with two dogs to shuttle them to shore. I feel like more people should watch this series, but I suppose the bikini channels win out.
Good choice of food. Pizza on Long Island is fantastic. I live on LI. It's nice to see the perspective of sailing along it, through the Sound. I hope to do that some day, like sail to Block Island. Or the other way, and around Manhattan and up the Hudson. Lots of bucket list stuff to do!
1:13 Hilarious. "But Dad, we HAVE to get in the dinghy to go to shore. It's what we DO!" Also the dog in the hammock later on was great. By the way -- boom hammock: what a great idea. When I get a boat I'm totally doing that.
