My job as a kid working for a potato farm was to walk the rows burying any exposed seed ! I must of walked at least 10,000 miles doing that ?! Give or take a few thousand !
I live in New Zealand and moved out of town to a two acre block surrounded by paddocks which have grown wheat, ryegrass and potatoes. It’s amazing how farming is done, the machinery and dedication of the farmers and contractors. I am always enthralled to see something new from season to season. They all deserve more credit because it’s a hard life and they battle the market and the weather. Thanks to all farmers for making our food.
Farming is definitely hard there have been a lot of farmers around us who have quit farming because they couldn’t make any money. I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching.
I loved the detail you show on how the planter works. The only thing I was left wondering about was how it produced so much vacuum. All my life I've had this insatiable desire to see how things work.
Waste of time and a sticky mess u have to clean it then wat reuse wats left on the next one. Screw that il stick my ether quicker less messier and cool asf way of doing it.
Just came across your channel and it is so interesting. Back in the day, don't know if I hauled more bulk potatoes or frozen fries. JR Simplot, McCains, Frito Lay, CH Robinson and on and on. My wife and I have recently retired and Idaho is on our consideration list of possible relocation spots. Do you hire seasonal employees of any type?
Thank you for sharing the video of the cutting process...now I get it. My cousins, the Wilson brothers of St Augustine Fla are potato farmers...not on your scale however. Their potatoes are called "Red Zingers."
Thanks for sharing a great video . I know it takes a lot of time shooting , editing . But we do appreciate your hard work. I know it’s just another day at the office for you guys but it’s very interesting to us . Thanks for sharing. 👍👍👍👍
