Rubber Ducky Prospecting is a collection of Andy and Barbara's prospecting adventures looking for gold! Join us on our adventures and maybe learn a bit about gold prospecting along the way!
So how is it an "expert" for fish and game is not considered and "expert" or in the least given an opportunity to give testimony by the EPA i believe you said? I ask because this is not the first time i am hearing something like this. Totally different case and circumstances mind you. I find it odd on one hand the government can rely on you on one hand and totally dismiss you on the other. I guess they get to pick and choose?
Michigan is totally ignorant about hobby mining and prospecting. You can't pan more than one HALF troy ounce a year??!!?? Why bother, and that's their point, THEY OWN THE MINERALS, AND YOU DON'T!
California has the worse laws against miners and use of lands open to the public...And most of those reasons are because of 'PEOPLE' that think they have the right to do stupid stuff and not paying attention the the rights of proper land use...in your video I see that the gas can is on the dredge pontoon and should be on the shore some place where just incase something happens that it doesn't end up in the creek or river and there you have just an example of a dredger not paying attention to a simple item of a gas can that shouldn't be near the water ways. Oh! And Bull creek is a great place to start on how to find gold. but has been worked over for so many years and putting a dredge in the water is a waste of time and money. just a small comment here...oh! just incase you haven't got it yet, AMRA is making money off of every small miner and it's like paying for a politician to tell you what you can and not do...Have you looked into Gold Backs yet...? And silver, what for...? because it's a poor mans investment...?
I cannot disagree about the gas can, those are the dumb things that the few does that ruins it for everyone everywhere. I suppose I should have taken better due care in my choice of content footage and not used that image as you are correct that it does not show a good image of dredging. That footage was taken from another RU-vid channel from another state for visual content of the story. Obviously the statements from Shannon about Silver are his own opinions. Fun thing about the USA is we are allowed to have opinions and speak them freely. AMRA is a non-profit corporation. I will say, I personally have not fully researched where each dollar donated is going. What I can tell you that they are in fact actively fighting the various agencies for both member and non-member issues as well as supporting the long expensive trail of legal battle that has led to the very real possibility of obtaining Certiorari from the USSC in a case that could stop the overreach of the EPA and environmental activists that do not want us out there with so much as a gold pan. Your mileage may vary for support or not, but I would rather support the loudest voice out there amongst any of the other prospecting organizations (Of which I am a member of quite a few) who are not doing anywhere near as much to fight for our rights to access public lands and hobby/small mining in general. I am not paying for a politician to tell me what I can and can not do, I am paying for someone to take on the politicians and bureaucrats to stop THEM from telling me what I can and cannot do.
Glad AMRA is still at this . One of many actions to help --- would be to make a law that if someone brings suit --- the loser pays both sides --- too many lawyers is a scam ! Thanks again
Thank you sir... We would love it if you shared this video message with those you know in the prospecting community and help us get the word out there. We need to support AMRA. If Shannon and AMRA wins in the US Supreme Court, we all win!
Find and join your local prospecting club.they will have club claims you can go to. There is also GPAA with claims around the country. Also check out AMRA who has great claims around the western US. Your local club can help you learn how to find out land status where there is un-claimed public lands open to hobby mining
I will say there's some big gold in that area. Just be careful because it's all claimed up. That was Jeff's claim, but he doesn't really care about the stuff by the rd
According to my information the dirt removed was inside of the lines for a UPI club claim. The water where I put the sluice was just outside of the claim but we were not removing minerals from there, just using the creek which is a legal surface use of public lands.
@RubberDuckyProspecting oh no don't take me wrong, he absolutely is totally cool about it. Upi is basically the same. Sorry it came off wrong. The amra claim up the hill has really nice gold in the right spot. But the area in general has some big nuggets. I have made alot of money in that area.
@nhragold1922 no worries. We try very hard to verify land status and boundaries of claims we are allowed to work. We use CalTopo and plot the boundaries from the guides, MLRS, and other resources and use the GPS to try and be sure we do not step on anyone's toes. If we do it is because of bad information but we certainly try and exercise due diligence... I agree about that area being a great spot with the tertiary gravel being the big deposition mechanism. The first AMRA claim we ever worked a few years back was OURS and we are still exploring it including the area up the hill on the east side of Jackass Creek. Between GPAA, AMRA, UPI, Coarse Gold, and Reinke we have a lot of really good ground to play in!
I do try to do a little teaching. I learned a lot from other yuotube prospectors and try to pass on what I have learned over the years for others just getting started. Every gold producing area is a little different, we spend most of our time in the southern motherlode of California around Yosemite, while the basics are the same there is some difference just because the geology is different compared to the guys up on the Yuba or down in SoCal. Glad you enjoy our adventures, and I hope you have amazing adventures searching for the elusive shiney where you are!
You have a great wife I can't get mine over the cliff lol. She would go I just won't let her 200 feet is a long way it's where the climbers go on ropes . Yes for flower GOLD. What a hobby. Blessings
I ain't saying she's a gold digger... lol. Barbara is a great partner in life and the 2:20 outdoors. She is not afraid of getting wet and dirty and will go anywhere I go. We are both Search and Rescue as well and she has no problem on a rope off a 200 foot face.
Awesome to see that you and your wife are enjoying gold prospecting together and thanks for all the info on the a 52S Im thinking on buying one God bless
Love the A52S and hopefully you will too! Remember if the water is really slow you can pull off the top metal layer and use it just like an A52 regular sluice with classified material.
Yeah, that is the challenging part with gold prospecting. I occasionally explore the idea of moving but finding a place that we can have as much fun digging in the dirt is challenging . :-)
