Want to move to the UK, but not sure where to start? I'm Alanna - an introverted expat with a dream of moving to the United Kingdom - and I've done it! And so can you. Here I'll share all my tips, tricks and advice for living in the UK and how you can be a successful expat, too.
Amasing. Now, instead of having one ID, I need to print eVisa😂 and habing multiple A4 sheets with me all the time. Great, super, very ESG abd very convinient. Other than that, I need to show this BRP in my home country tomprove that I am living in the UK long term, but given that my newly issued card is valid until 31.12.2024 and THERE IS NO ANY OTHER OFFICIAL.DOCUMENT thay can prove that I can actually stay till 2026 - generates a huge issue. Also previously when I was travelling from other countries to UK, I was always asked on the border to show BRP...So are those guys aware of these wonderful new stuf in tje UK immigragion law? Something tells me that not. I feel like that this eBullshit will grand me a great opportunuty to waste several hours in gje airports. Tbis whole idea - BS
Excellent presentation and editing! I'm about to move to the UK on a 6-month work visa so this information was really useful in clarifying how to use the RailCard, thanks!
1:02 Hi, I think your videos are so helpful. I had my first BRP appointment 6 weeks ago and haven’t heard anything. Should I be concerned? Can you “fail” the application? I’ve been here for 19 years and always used the visa in an old passport but now my employer needs this card. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you 🙏
thanks a lot. it's been helpful. Originally I wasn't sure what to use to register. (brp or passport). I used brp first and then link the Evisa to my passport and then the login changed to passport (the latest added document I assumed). Its all instant.
If we don’t have physical brp can we apply for e visa using our passport? I have applied for provisional license and its 1 and a half month i have not got my brp card back from Dvla:(
You forgot to mension the mindster of the people, especially in London. Just go to the underground, everyone is depressed as fck. I changed London for Liverpool and definitely I feel more happy here, however I don't see myself living in the UK for the rest of my life.
Im travelling next week. I’ve made my account but I haven’t linked my evisa to my BRP. Will this cause issues if I travel? I’ll still be carrying my BRP.
Honestly I think this is just crazy. I'm not an advocate of old ways but honestly a stamp in your non UK passport worked. I often wonder what happens is my phone is dead or stolen on holiday, computer systems down etc etc
Hi, I have set up my E visa account now. When I view my account, it shows my brp with expiration date at end of this year. How do I update this to reflect my actual expiry date
Hi Alanna, thank you so much for taking the time to make all of these helpful videos and actually respond to questions. I feel a lot more confident about moving. I was looking for info regarding needing a UK guarantor and knowing no one in the UK. Are there any guarantor companies you'd recommend? And would they cover the upfront costs (i.e. deposit and first month's rent) while a student awaits their loan disbursement? Also, what is your opinion on the zero deposit scheme vs. paying a deposit? Lastly, does the UK have individual real estate agents or companies that are not like the general databases Hybr, Zoopla, SpareRoom, etc.?
Thank you for your clear and informative instructions. I made exactly the same mistakes as you. I initially must have used the sign in and not create account option and I thought using my passport would be the best option also. After restarting my process everything went very smoothly. I received our eVisa's 5 minutes after I submitted. Well done UK immigration service!
Hi, I lost my BRP but I'd already applied for evisa since I'd recieved an email from the Home Office to do so a few days ago. Do I need to book a replacement BRP? Or just reporting it will do?
Hello, thank you for such detailed steps. I have a BRP expiring end of this year. I submitted my application to link my e-visa a month ago but haven't received any confirmation. I can only see my application to 'link e-visa to my account' which states submitted. Is it normal for the process to take this long? What is the estimated time for confirmation? Thank you.
Hi, I like your channel, am A J. I currently live in Ireland, having a German passport. I really like to live in the UK but couldn't since Brexit. Enlighten me please if any means I could get NIN to live in the UK. Thank you.
No intention of proving im English. My birth certificate is all the proof i need, i can trace my ancestors back to the crusades he was a English knights templar can't get anymore English than that... F k starmer
I think the date on the BRP. Not the actual date. Cos I'm presently having an issue. As it says, the expiry on the card is different from the account expiry date
Guys, don't use your BRP to create the UKVI account. BRPs are anyway going to expire at the end of this year. Always use your passport to create the UKVI account, it will save you one step of linking your passport to UKVI account later. Linking the passport is needed because, If your passport is not linked to your UKVI account, the border officials are not going to be able to find your eVisa even though you have one. There may be a workaround if this happens, I am not aware. I travelled using an eVisa 2 months ago and it was too simple a process when it works. Show the non UK passport, do the biometric and walk away. Took hardly 2 mins.
If we don’t have physical brp can we apply for e visa using our passport? I have applied for provisional license and its 1 and a half month i have not got my brp card back from Dvla:(
@@user-pe3dr7bk1n just Google "UKIV update account details", proceed to logging into your account ; on the he page click "add a new identity document", click "passport". With this you will be able to add your passport and use this passport details to log in to your account instead of using brp
Not able to do it for my family all the time I am using the immigration app to prove their identity it’s keep on saying on the portal that prove your identity like how many times should I do it?!!
Hey everyone! A new update! This service has now opened to EVERYONE so you don't need to wait for an email from the Home Office to follow this process ☺
Thanks for the info I just did the application now myself. One other thing I discovered is that only my BRP was registered on my UKVI account as identification and not my passport. I came across another video on the UKVI website which discussed using this eVisa for entering the country and they indicate that you will need to add your passport(s) to your UKVI account. Once this is done all you will need to do is show your passport or one of your passports if you are a multinational (once the BRP expires at the end of the year - ie you also need to show the BRP until the end of December) and the eVisa will automatically show up on the screen of the immigration officer when they scan it. If you don’t do this this will not happen and given your BRP will have expired you will need to prove to them your immigration status which the video says will take longer.
Have just been granted an eVisa but have not arrived in the UK yet... should I still pick up my BRP at the post office as usual so i can have something physical until it expires in December?
Hi can you make a video on how to apply for rent in uk? And also how easily done that is? Is there any extra steps needed to be taken? Do I apply for a place to rent when I’m in the country or do I do it once I’m in the uk, same goes with a job, do I apply when I get into the uk or when I’m outside of uk?
