I have been travelling for many years between MAN and EUS and, like you used to, I collect my paper tickets from the kiosk at the station after arriving a few minutes earlier. However, on my latest journey they tricked me and somehow changed my preferred method of paper tickets into etickets! Don't know why/how they did that. Anyway, I have two questions: a) I don't use any digital wallet. They have emailed me the etickets and I can see the QR codes in the email. How do I go about using it without installing a digital wallet? b) Avanti has this policy where of not allowing you refund if you cancelled your journey and if you had etickets, but they do refund if you have paper tickets! That's bizarre. Do you know anything about it? Thanks in advance.
If you have an email with a QR code, you can print that and scan at the barrier, or bring up that email and QR code on your phone screen to scan at the QR code reader. Not sure about Avanti's refund policy, though.
