Jesum I'm here 30 seconds after the video was posted and at least 2 people have already "yes'd" it. Guess I'm not the only one excited for snowmobile season.
@@FrostDeka I’ve had 4 I think and I’d have to agree. One 03 an 06 and 2 04’s and that 03 would walk zr900’s and stay with t-cat 1000’s to 100 then the t-cats would pull
Depends on where you live . Sleds are very common around them . 300 miles south of em I can only think of a few people with them an ive only seen 2 in my 38 years .
I bought a badass Rev 800 with minor electrical issues for 900$ with a fresh motor. It was an acquaintance of mine but we started at 1100, he had 900 into the motor which we settled on... I build my own motors so I was blown away he had that much into it!!!
Big piece of advice for you guys who bought triple's. When it's actually time for the outdoor adventure, on the cold start. Do NOT touch the throttle until they get some heat built up in the engine. Especially the thundercat. They'll foul the spark plugs fast if you fire it up and crack the throttle immediately.
Your sled Videos are a++! All u guys got crazy deals on ur sleds there isn’t deals like any of those in Minnesota. U guys need to do a 70s sled challenge too! A+ to u guys!
All these guys talk about the F7 and Mach Z have zero idea how fast the 900 tcats were and STILL are. If that cat is dialed clutching wise and the pipes are hot all the rest will be racing for 2nd place.
I am a disabled snowmobile rider here in Maine. I really enjoyed your $1000 snowmobile challenge last year and this year the $1500 looks like it may even be better. Can't wait for more videos to come. I ride at this time a 2007 Yamaha Attak 1000 cc 4 stroke. It is a good sled but I would eventually like to get into a newer model with the driver-forward style. I think it would be far better on my back. I have metal rods in my back and right femur from a motorcycle accident in 1990. Keep them coming guys.
I have a bad back and I can relate, my BIL has a Yamaha sled like yours with 1000. Good sled for trail riding and putting on a lot of miles but it won't handle like a newer sled. Suspension left a lot to be desired for me. I found it to be heavy and hard to lift at times. I switched from Polaris to Skidoo because of the advantages of the rider forward design. look for a lighter model with good shocks and get them rebuilt every 2 years. Going from a heavy mid 90's Polaris to a 03 Rev with piggy-back shocks was 10 x easier on my body. My Rev performs better than the Yamaha in every way except top speed and fuel consumption. The Yamaha is more reliable and doesn't need as much attention in the off season.
With the T-Cat and Mach Z in the group we need a really long top speed run - 1 mile on the lake. Don’t think either sled can knock off the F7s in a sprint due to traction. Stoked for every single sled, except that 600 Polaris (always found the IQs ugly). We’re already getting snow here in Northern Ontario, hope it hits soon for you guys too.
Yeeessssss. This is why I subscribed. I can't believe how much better these are than last years. These are some of the fastest sleds ever built. Not just but 2 03 f7s? Crazy. A 94 tcat? Oh yeah. 2 edges? A Mach z triple triple? Or this year is going to be amazing.
This message is for Steve: The 06 600 wakes up and response well to advancing the timing to 28 degrees. Also think about 400 mains and maybe reduce pilot jet or raise clip on needle. Run 62 grams weight in cluth that has been balanced. I had this same sled but the RMK version. It rean very good and handled well also. Just for reference I had an 2003 REV 440X before the 06 RMK. I would say the IQ Polaris is a great balance between rider forward and the old edge. Great sled.
I'm still riding a 2004 sabercat 600 I got for $2500 4 years ago and thought that was a cheap sled at the time but still wish I would have kepted my 98 ZL 500, only have had arctic cats for snowmobile and have never been let down by them so far 🤞
Hi guys, as an f7 owner, here's the deal, getting that exhaust pipe hot is huge. Trust me. It will make a huge difference in power. I'm looking forward to the next video when the snow has fallen!
My most favorite thing I ever stumbled upon ever!!! Fuck yea baby!!!! Bro the cheap ski challenge last year was awesome and actually made me a full time subscriber! Been hooked ever since! Can’t wait for this years footage
Cool. As a sled mechanic, i have to say be careful for that 800 ski doo. Those are famous for blowing the crankshaft right though the crankcase. As for the 800 xc taking 3 pulls. Thats normal.
@maxkoepke5917 u are indeed correct. The 2000 was the best one made. But if the sled was taken care of they last. Most of them go beat to he'll and back.
Friggen love these challenges. I think you need a "DISTANCE" challenge. First one to cover 50 miles, (lowest time), best fuel milage, fewest stops/repairs.
As someone who has spent a lot of time on iq Polaris sleds I have a couple suggestions Steve. First, you’re going to want to check your exhaust valves. They really should be cleaned every season and they’re also pretty notorious for bellows failure. When that happens you will be severely lacking in power. A good way to tell, take the valve out, compress it by hand, hold your finger over the hole on the top of the valve then let it release. If it stays compressed it should be fine. If it leaks off the bellows has a pinhole or a tear. Cheap easy fix. A dirty valve will still sap power, so clean it either way. Also, use loctite. That’s a lesson I learned the hard way. Another cheaper upgrade, the pre 08 iq’s steer a bit heavy. Newer spindles from an 08 to 10 will make a world of difference in handling, and should be relatively cheap.
I’m big into old sleds. I cruise marketplace constantly for great deals to restore an I’m local to you guys. I can tell you no there’s not a sled in that bunch that is truly a $1500. I’m not calling ya’ll out. I’m congratulating you on the flexing that SXSBlog muscle during negotiations! Most of those sleds to need to be treated a at least a little respect as most are pretty desirable and worth keeping on the trails. I’ve been waiting for this to come back around. Should be fun but I think you took the easy route. I want to see real challenges. Like a sub-$500 challenge. Maybe even lower. Maybe a sub-$250 with a repair budget of $100. Lots of good runners out there for almost nothing. Now we need some snow!
You guys have stepped up on the sleds this year from last year, the competition looks to be close might come down to who can maneuver through the challenges the best.
Last years snowmobile competition was fun to watch This year looks even big and better. All the guys have a good chance at winning and the prize is epic Waiting for next episode....😊
Really looking forward to this years challenge. When I thought about what I could get for $1500 locally in NH, an XC 800 is probably what I would come up with...
The best thing on the internet! Last year was a blast. This year will be epic! YES!!! Skidoo Rev will probably either blow the bottom end bearings or win!
I had the same problem as Joey ... I was trying to negotiate a new La-Z-Boy, but when I said "I will watch every episode of SXSBlog from this chair" I got no love! Welcome to the team Joey.
Snowmobile challenge for next year..... Everyone finds and buys a Snowmobile, but then they draw numbers to establish an order. Then everyone has to draw a high/low card agaisnt a dealer, or coin flip to see if they keep it...or if they have to "pass it on" and give it to the next person in the drawing. And every challenge you switch Snowmobiles, then the highest switches with the lowest in the standings, sled.
I bought a 2003 Skidoo MXZ 800. Did the beavertail delete. Gave it a Dynamo Joe clutch kit, can and a decent 1.50 track. That thing rocked! My buddies 2006 MXZ 800HO could not keep up!!!!!!
Not only sxs guys but Polaris are doing some pretty awesome things for people, never been a Polaris guy but stuff like they do for sxs and Cboys and countless other crews is fricken awesome!!
Hands down f7 should walk them 800s but they ride like hell. The ski doo rev is lightyears ahead in ride quality but more reliability issues. This should be a good one though! Cant wait
Can’t wait for season two. Of the cheap sled challenge. Love the content. You guys are the best! Im pulling for Justin!!! He has to start his sled with a rope on the clutch!!! 😂😂😂🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Omg so excited for this years sled challenge!! Up the budget was a great idea and seems perfect amount, got enough sled to get a couple you boys into trouble maybe this year…. Can’t wait to see Matt danglin off the back of that legend 🤟. Challenge extra bonus: best biff out of the whole challenge series +4 points
