Each year, I challenge myself to make and thrift a large portion of our Christmas gifts. My skills continue to improve and I get to pass my lessons on to you, follow along for the 2022 results and let me know in the comments below what you will be making!
This is one of your best videos. It was so relaxing and full of Christmas spirit and the presents you made are so simple but so beautiful. I loved this!
I think so too. There was happiness. Sometime when I watch your videos, you seem quite sad, even though you smile. I hope that you have found happiness moving forward.
This might be my favorite video. I LOVE your ideas and I think I might be able to create my own gifts as well. Would you ever consider doing a wreath making class? I would definitely pay to participate.
Loved your gift ideas. And I have to compliment you in your music choice. So relaxing and doesn’t compete with your content. Thank you! You are so calming and refreshing.
Your gifts are so lovely! I would squeal with delight to receive any of them. I lost my Mom 4 years ago, I love the idea of the towel with one of her recipes on it. You are so talented, what a beautiful video.
Everything you do has such a touch of elegance to it! Thank you for the inspiration. I’m going to try the caramel recipe. I usually make homemade fudge for holiday gifts & everyone loves it. I think I’ll pair it with the caramels for something extra special. 🎄
For the matches, it works better if you buy the big box of matches & cut strips off of that, it'll last longer. Also, the holly wreath is nice, just remind whoever receives it, that the berries are poisonous, in case they hang it inside & have curious kids or pets.
This is absolutely lovely. I noticed your mom's beautiful cursive writing on her recipe. My favorite recipes from my mother in law were written in cursive. She passed a long time ago but her recipes live on... Your packaging is exquisitely simple and classic. Your sister will love that tea towel. What a thoughtful gift.
Yes!!! It's such a blessing to give homemade gifts... That's what I rounded up, today! Homemade Cocoa mix, PeanutBrittle and Cookies for Santa! Now, you've added more precious ideas for me!!! Merry Christmas....
Thank you Sarah for the thoughtful gift ideas. I love the "doilies as dish cloths" idea. (One of the reasons your matches may not strike on sand paper might be because they're safety matches. This type will only strike on the striker from the box.)
Sarah, Everything you do is so lovely. I too have a wonderful recipe hand written by my father who is no longer with us. I was so inspired by that particular gift idea to make for his siblings this Christmas. ♥ I so enjoy your beautiful and thoughtful ideas! Thank you and have a blessed Christmas season!
You are such a dear person. Your sweet spirit is so evident in your videos. How incredibly special it was to use your mom's recipe to create the tea towel for your sister. That first Christmas after losing my mom was so hard. 15 Christmases without her and still it is is always bittersweet. You and your family are in my prayers. We keep going don't we? And that Honors them
You have such a sweet gentle spirit. Thank you for sharing your talent of putting together beautiful and tasty gifts. My mom made the Christmas caramels every year. Her memory is failing so the past two years she has not made them. You've inspired me to continue this tradition.❤
Oh my goodness, you were able to elevate everything. What lovely thoughtful gifts. I'll definitely be making a few of these. I also make lots of homemade dog treats and put them in decorative bags as party favors for my family (lots of dog and cat owners). Wonderful sharing of ideas ❤❤
I found Coasters all over in sets of 3 or 4, both round and square, heavy, made mostly stone or stone look resin, with ugly pictures or prints on top. I covered these with photos I took or spray painted or embroidered tops, and clear shellacked or covered with decorators finish. The sets were on average $2 and the photos etc ran me no more than $3. ❤
Each one of these items I would be thrilled to be on the receiving end of. Beautiful, organic, elegant in their simplicity. Thank you for sharing your creativy with us Sarah! One of my fave Vlogs.
Love your warmhearted crafts for friends and family. I’m going to try your caramels and I was going to donate a linen table cloth but now I’m going to make some sentimental towels with my mothers hand written recipes. Thank you. I also love your couched wash cloths. Warmth and love to you
Really lovely - such sweet and thoughtful gifts! I can tell that giving is one of your special gifts - the thought and care you put into each one is just so evident! Lovely job - and very inspiring! It's a 'spend nothing' Christmas for this year so I'm looking around for things I can do to bless others!
Sarah, you did such a beautiful job. Those kinds of gifts are the BEST! gifts! They’re gifts that are homemade & made from the heart. And that’s what makes them the best! It’s also what Christmas should be all about. That’s the Spirit of Christmas!!! I think that’s what the whole world needs right now. Peace, Love & the Spirit of Christmas. Hope you’re doing better regarding your mom’s passing. She’s happy in heaven in her new house & with her relatives & friends. They’re all probably celebrating Christmas with a big bash all month & every one’s happy. Then one day we’ll all join them soon. God bless. Merry Christmas Sarah, to you & your Family & Happy New Year.
I love your holly reef... it is beautiful! I have just started watching your channel and I feel very inspired. I have been watching Cami’s from Tidbits for a couple of years and when she shared your video I came over to check it out. Thank you for the gift ideas... I do some baking and share it as gifts. Looking forward to watching more of your videos. Merry Christmas!
Thank you so much you are so classic and classy your gift presentation and preparation’s are just beautiful. I sure would like to try to make the caramels as gifting’s so so sweet thank you so much sweetheart be blessed❤
I did this matchstick in a jar idea a couple of years ago and ordered little self adhesive dots of striking pieces online. Then I just attached them to the bottom of various vessels. Thank you for the candle making tips. I want to do that!
Absolutely fabulous and so beautifully presented. You've captured so much of what's on many of our minds this Christmas, and inspired us to be even more creative. God bless
Some great ideas thank you very much. I have always wanted to make caramels and never had the nerve to follow a recipe and see how I do. I was so surprised to see your mothers handwriting. It is so similar to my Mother’s. It’s actually made my heart jump to see it somewhere other than my Mother’s recipe cards. Thank you for your great gift giving.
Aren't you lovely! and patient! You are an all around girl. I would love to receive any of the gifts. (not so much make them ) but till next time. Joyce
Ohh Sarah, how precious these gifts are. I love homemade gifts elevating them and getting back to basics. I marvel at your ideas, love the soups and bread 🥖 gift, simply perfect for winter. I love buying vintage teacups/mugs inexpensively and adding loose tea, chai, bars of chocolate for hot cocoa, or a small bag of flavored coffee. Tie it up in a doily or without a doily with a grosgrain ribbon, just lovely! You are such a delight….Merry Christmas!🎄 Feliz Navidad! 🙏🏽🎄
Oh boy, Sarah. I am going to make the candles and match jar and I have ordered the pinecone cookie mold. Even if I do not make cookies, I love pinecones and the mold will look awesome displayed. Also, neighbors are going to receive minestrone soup. Love these ideas. Thank you very much.
I loved your handmade gifts. Of all the gifts you made, my favorite was the Holly wreath! I wish I had access to a Holly bush like you did. In my area, we have cedar and juniper trees so I'm thinking to make some wreaths from them. The juniper have little berries on them which makes them extra beautiful. Thank you for the inspiration.
These are lovely. Thank you. I make crocheted dish cloths for gifts. Or adding a small strip of pretty fabric to a washcloth or towel. Making a set of cloth napkins is fun. And something I'm doing this year is jars of dehydrated greens (green onion, celery and chard etc for soup bases or sauces) all from my garden. Tea cups and other small containers also work for candles. Dried roses on homemade soap is also a lovely option.
Loved this video. I have made candied pecans, cheese crackers and fudge to give as gifts. Stamped tea towels. I loved watching you make candles and plan to learn that craft . All your gifts were very nice and thoughtful. I hope you are doing well. God’s blessings to you and yours.
You have such a gift of making everything look so classic and timeless , though I won't be giving these as gifts this year I think they are such great ideas.
I just love your videos! You make everything look so beautiful. ❤. I’m not a wreath lover but I do love that one. I have a holly bush out back and I think I’ll try it!
Wow - Just stumbled across your video and am so glad I clicked on it. What wonderful ideas and such a relaxed, calming video to follow and enjoy. Thank you for all the well explained gift ideas.
Your idea for gifts are so interesting and simple your wrapping are so so elegant you really have good taste for decorating the gifts thanks for your video 😊
I absolutely loved it. I'm so inspired now. Actually I'm always inspired for Christmas. Your video took it up a notch. The wreath and cookies. Perfection.
