To each their own, but I would honestly take the $5 steak all day long. Not a big fan of too much fat. There is no way that a $5 ribeye steak exists in this economy (America) unless you are VERY fortunate and get it from the about-to-expire rack (which I'm not above).
@@bosesebi6685 More grilling=smaller and dryer steak. Just look at the cut your buying before you make your purchase. That wagyu sucked in comparison to what he could have gotten.
I literally almost had it everyday when I was in kindergarten ~elementary but then my dad died and I haven’t had steak in a pretty long time…I kind of miss the steak
it's "the Japanese beef market being overtaken by foreign meats forcing domestic farmers to switch to a different strategy in order to survive" the reason why it exists
@@TOROislamedo you even understand why we eat? to sustain your life energy. not saying just go around eating bland food, but 500$ for something you could do for 5$, and looks less healthy for your body is a bit insane.
I bought a wagyu steak here in Aus, so Australian wagyu which is less fatty than Japanese, like $20 very small as you can imagine, looked for the damn least fattiest steak possible. While I can say it is very tender and juicy the taste of fat just floats in your mouth, just leaves an icky taste, its good first bite then the fat sets in
And its true! Im the 2nd oldesr of 5, the smack dab middle child, the oldest boy, was the Golden Child. Was a frickin genius... traveled to nearly every 3rd world country to help rebuild homes, churches, and schools... was very into being a Godly man, a good man. He and my dad were best friends, he and Mom had the best mother-son relationship... did everything to make mom and dad happy. Now, since 2018, we have had no contact with him, his wife, or his 2 kids. His wife came from a spoiled life. She got everything she wanted by cryint and whining about it.. she was so disrespectful to my parents, rude to the family. She talked so much shit on us. Then, when i punched her in the mouth for screaming and cussing at my mom, she ran away and cried.. then started screaming bloody murder in our driveway for my brother to take her home. Got even worse when they had a kid. She ruined Thanksgiving and Christmas every year with her crying, and 2018 was the year we had enough of her, told her off, and she gave my brother and ultimatum - either he cut his family off or she wanted a divorce. He chose her. They moved to another state and we havent seen or spoken to them since Christmas 2018. Whenever my brother is brought up, my dad refers to him as "The disaster of a son who's balls are in his wife's purse" 😂 So yeah, middle child is always the biggest disappointment, even if theyre the Golden Child in the beginning 😊
My dad used to be a butcher and said that you’re paying for the marbling. He said that the cow is massaged daily and it’s young. But it’s mostly the marbling that makes it so good
It was just frozen so that the fat wouldnt melt before they got a chance to cook it. Wagyu steak costs a premium because it is the best steak in the world. The cows are meticulously fed and cared for. Their diet is controlled to produce optimum meat. The fat literally melts in your mouth when you eat it.
5$ top round mighg be the most underrated steak imo, i feel like most people over look them or just cook them wrong when you can get real high quality bites when you know what your doing
The kind of honesty which makes you taste the smoothness and the melting in your mouth before you put anything in your mouth? Yeah, this is super honest.
@@ImGonnaOilYouUp Not from what he shows. He calls it Kobe A5 and shows what appears to be a large New York Strip - you can easily order those any time for around $150-$200 each. Now, if it was actually tri-tip like he says towards the end (which the steak he shows is NOT a full tri-tip), then it may have been cut from a tri-tip and the entire piece of meat may have been $500-$600, but there would also be more than what was shown.
@@Dreznin what the actual fuck did i just read.... if you think that wagyu looks like a regular new york strip, i must be eating 20 cent steaks or something. The fucking thing melted on his finger. Are you high?
@ChazinFl1 this guy is clearly very good at cooking any cut of steak, so he's able to make the $5 cut still come out well. Thus proving that the chef matters more than how much they can afford to spend.
Not true, but keep thinking that. Yes, its important to have great chef skills, but you will never turn a sirloin into a Kobe A5 steak. I get what you are trying to say, but its just not true. He can make that crap steak tender, but will still only taste as good as the quality of the meat. HE cooked the $5 steak correctly, then WAY over cooked the other 2. Not sure that was on purpose for the video, but that is the facts. HE murdered the last 2. Also, the $5 steak was NOT a rib cap! This guy has no idea what he is talking about. @@DubYuhGChoppa
You can't lick the butchers knife for 5 bucks around here and those 4 ounce bacon wrapped filets don't even make an appetizer. Last good ribeye I had was about 15 a pound
I get steaks all the time for under $5 at my local Winco. Find them pretty often for under $3 even, albeit small. Still a good deal tho when you need a little steak
In Nebraska the good steaks are usually around $2 a pound, especially in rural areas and especially if you buy by portions of an animal instead of individual packages
