I used to work on that ship in 2018/19 3:37 🛳️😜 maybe I was even there lol That scene btw, 7:17 is what the crew or even guests fear the most: seeing the ship leaving without being inside of it 😱😭🛳️😂😂😂😂😂 Good times back then. Don’t get rid of the blurry sides! That distortion is one of the best parts of anamorphic filming and organically draws attention to center frame.

Like your content, sub, i think that the blur is part of the charm of anamorphic, having entirly sharp edges takes away that hollywood vintage feel, this softly draws your attention to the main subject and takes away the over sharpness of the phone processing.. Great review by the way

Hands up here. Although I was one of those teens who would grin and bear the letterboxing on a "widescreen" DVD on a 4:3 TV just because I knew I was seeing the whole image. I shunned the "fullscreen" chop jobs, even though they looked better, because I knew bits of the image had been cropped.

I even remember the back of those old CRT TVs and the screw YES ACTUAL SCREWS you had to undo a bit and then hook up your various connectors or Y-splitters to... I take offense! (LOL! I don't, it's j/k) *mumbles something 'bout not having grey in my beard...*

interesting review blunty thanks for the effort. i have the letus gopro anamorphic adapter. which i quite like, it was about $200. may i ask if you defished your video before you desqueeze ? i find that helps with pans and tilting and squares things up nicely. At $60 its a good way to dip your toes into anamorphics however i suspect that at $60 the lens coating and glass design may leave a bit to be desired ultimately. the only thing i could add is perhaps using some tape to secure the adapter from rotating as a few of those flares are getting away from the horizontal.

Great review! I shoot with Open Camera and Lumio Camera apps to shoot flat profile videos in full sensor mode (4:3), in 2048:1536 or 2592:1944 resolution. This lens can help me shoot 16:9 while using the full 4:3 sensor. P.S. I have Moto G5S+

I got the Ulanzi for my DJI Pocket 2 and am very disappointed. Getting nowhere close to your results here on phone, are they different optics. The best of your shots are quite amazing in detail, your CU to the camera is superb. Although I noticed consistently more blur right edge of the frame than left? That time-lapse sequence of the Liner (was on it in Dec ) coming in is spectacular! Love the while sequence 👍 Overall, cannot fathom why so many are fixated by the aberrations of Anamorphic lenses, the wide Aspect Ratio is surely the distinguishing feature IOM!

The video looks nice on my 21:9 Monitior. The Price of the Lens is very good.

Oh my dog, the left and right 1/4 of the frame (especially the right) are so horrendous! This pretty much tells me that adapters are an area where I would only be interested in the best quality ones (regardless of price) - there's just no way I would use this adapter, it seriously looks so bad lol. Thanks for showing us!

That thing is brilliant! If only there was a way to livestream desqueezed anamorphically from a phone (coz I don't think there's a way but someone can correct me if there is lol)

Is it me or is there a slight chromatic aberration in the footage? Did the lens do that?
