Excellent video. Just bought the ulanzi lens after many RU-vid reviews and agonising over which brand to buy. I very much agree with your opinion in that the product is very reasonably priced, aimed the enthusiast /hobbyist (like me). It’s a quality product out of the box and the video obtained is excellent. Combined with the filters kit and an nd filter, what more could you want for the money. A great addition for my iPhone and home movie captures. Highly recommended.

That was more like a pico film 😂. You are so right about the convenience , If u wanna be creative it’s an excellent solution. You can also work around some of the lens’s limitations in post.

Precisely I look at the anamorphic filters but the $ 150 of the moondog or moment + iphone cases + Nd adapt my cooled in my purchase my preferer was the moondog because their nd adapter was in 52mm vs 62mm at moment and the flare of the moondog is less blue than the moment and the ulanzi but the price is really too high I think I will follow like you the ulanzi it seems to me to be a good choice and reasonable already to test. Tell me a question? I have the counterweight that you also use I wonder if I add my variable hoya 52mm nd on the anamorphic it will go the 60g of counterweight or if you need more in your opinion? And sorry for my spelling i'm french ;)

Question,,,I recent ordered ulanzi’s 52mm filter lense adapter in order to add cpl lenses, will the filter lense adapter need any other accessories in order to screw on the cpl? Also where can I get that gimbal handle you using?

Hey Brian, can you use the lens and filter with adapter without the counter weights? Or will it not balance properly and counterweights are required for this setup? Just bought the Ulanzi anamorphic lens and debating getting the lens adapter and ND Filter.

I was thinking of getting this lens just to play with. I’m not a photographer or videographer of any sort. I’m just impressed with what can be done with a cell phone these days and I like gadgets. My biggest question is can those flares be reduced or minimized through the use of a filter of some sort? I’ve seen video of the Moment, Moondog and Beastgrip anamorphic lenses and I don’t recall their flares being so pronounced or blue.

Will the counterweights in the link provided be enough for the ulanzi lens , adapter, and 52MM ND filter?

Im new to the iPhone cinematography world, I have the iPhone 11 Pro Max and the dji osmo 3. Was looking at some of these lenses and really had a hard time swallowing the price of the competitors. I also wanted to use the ND filter... I also have the extra handle! I’m so glad I ran into this video because it was the exact set up I already have plus what I want .

Why go to the trouble and expense of using an anamorphic lens, which can twist and warp the image, when you could use a wide-angle adapter, and crop the top and bottom for the anamorphic aspect ratio? In either situation, you’re getting the full horizontal resolution of the camera, and software is throwing away the top and bottom to give you the wide/short aspect ratio.

I am on very low budget so I'll use this lens for a feature. 😏
