Giza, Egypt ➖ When you think of top tourist attractions across the world, The Great Pyramids of Giza is definitely one that comes to mind. Today, I get to tick that off the bucket list, as I go to one of the most visited places in the world!
I knew that going without a local guide was going to be an interesting feat, especially walking there through the Egyptian summer heat. As I approached. theroad to the Pyramids, touts and scammers were everywhere to be seen. The closer I got, the more there were, and they definitely weren't happy with being on camera.
But, being used to this kind of thing over my years of travel, I entertained them with a bit of conversation, and got past their lies, making it to the real government ticket office to buy my entry ticket.
200 Egyptian pounds to enter the Pyramid area and I believe another 100 to go inside the tombs of the Pyramids. But I was more excited to meet the local people and salesman, to get an insight of local life here in Giza.
It was a fun-filled afternoon, involving camel rides, touts, Egyptian hats and sculptures, join me for the adventure at the Great Pyramids of Giza!

jumaa the camel man is amazing! but i also really liked the guy you bought the pyramid from. he gave you a really good price and was very greatefull. he even thanked jumaa the camel man in arabic and made duaa (a prayer) for him after he made the sale. i would’ve given him 50 just because he’s sweet 🥺

Even though many are saying he got scammed, they’re not seeing that in the end, that’s how much he chose to pay out of kindness for the people and looked like he enjoyed the ride and time with Friday and Moses. Whatever the other mens’ motives were, he had good intentions in being generous and that part is great to see in this world. I don’t agree with the camel rides because of what the animals go through, but that’s separate from the “scam” angle.

Emad was so true.. He said " We want the tourist to come back...!!! ". I have very fond memories of visiting this place around 10 years back. I was also ambushed by many people around and ended up in spending more than 100 USD although I was not willing to.

Hey luke, hope u r enjoying. I started watching your videos as to improve my listening skills so as I have to take my ielts test( english test) going ti be conducted by idp australia so I have to improve my listening skills in australian accent. والله انا كنت بحب مصر والمصريين جداً بس بصراحه بعد زيارتي ل مصر تغيرت روؤيتي لهم شفت المعامله ومحاولات النصب من كل الناس بدايتاً من المطار الى اصحاب التكاسي الى المطاعم الى الشوارع الى مكان السكن الفنادق كل مكان بصراحه اي شخص مصري يقابلك او حتى يقولك السلام عليكم انتبه منه لانه يا ينصب عليك يا يسرقك يطلبك فلوس وينكد عيشتك المشكله انهم ما بيفهموش انت بتقوله لا شكراً وهو ما بيرضاش يسيبك بحالك بيفضل وراك وراك وفوق راسك يعني بصراحه شي مقرف والمشكله انه اكثر الي حا تقابلهم في مصر كذا ف انتبهو ونصيحتي الي يحب يروح سياحه يروح ماليزيا يروح اوروبا تركيا احسن لك

Then when you realise that they just see you as a walking, talking ATM, you understand to not be so friendly in the future. It’s sad but it’s the reality!

Next time go inside the pyramids and make a detail video also meet with tourists and talk with them, if you can get a chance going into the museum that will be very nice.
