Someone who takes themselves a bit too seriously might have done a second take. I absolutely LOVE that you just rolled with it and enjoyed the smashing distraction...
I noticed that, too and thought it was an excellent touch leaving that bit of magic and friendliness in the video instead of editing it out! Before mentioning it, the scene was immediately recognizable from your house video... and the change in perspective -- perfect!
The one thing I dislike about this boat is the lack of mirrors. It means we get less Aquaholic waves 👋. This boat is seriously nice for the price. I could almost see myself living on it! Thanks for the tour Nick.
Wow! a mini SPADA Nick? £425,000 ... Hmmm, if I sell the house, and the cars, and the Caravan, and the motorbike, and Mrs goes on the game ... Er, I still won't have enough ... Humpf. But thanks for the tour!
Nick- "'That's the steam train" Me- Immediately starts a comment asking if that's the one that trundels by the house that was recently showcased. Nick- Reads my mind.
Oh helloo. Wot, getting bored of canals already? I love how all boating people stick together, even though they sail ⛵ in different crafts. All the best to you. Keep safe. Will keep watching your channel also.
I can't even afford a house let alone a boat, but I still find myself clicking on every single new video Aquaholic posts and watching the whole tour! Another great vid.
putting that heater in the engine room speaks volumes for the owner and the care that has gone into the boat ; we went round a hardy 50 at one of the boat shows in Southampton beautiful bit of kit .
The coloring on the outer hull of this Hardy is beautiful. The helm is excellent with the suspension seats (usually see those in over the road haulers) and its general layout; small, efficient and has the perfect cup holders for my mug of coffee and some water. Now this is a boat (even from 2007) that I’d buy if that were possible. Another great Aquaholic style video!
I'd have this one but I'd change the name if I could haha. In my perspective, I want to say it's kinda similar size-wise and in other ways to the Broom 450 you did, but just more of a fishing vibe version. Also, good to get to know about the semi-displacement hull and that it's in between the two, I think that's probably the kind of boat ride I'd like - I'm a compromise man with many things.
My Grandmother was from Dartmouth, and I got to go visit her family there over 30 years ago. Caught crabs down by that harbour with my Great Uncle (my wife loves when I tell people that). Thanks for the boat tour and bringing back some memories.
Laurel would like that boat immensely. Joking aside what an awesome vessel. Norwegian Fjords here we come. As an aside, and not surprisingly, when I looked at the estate agent site, the Magical house was under offer. (An Anemometer...Try saying that after a few bevies.)
This is a lovely boat (little ship?) and possesses what some of the more flashy numbers don't - warmth. Beautiful, cosy interior, would feel right at home here for extended trips. What about those engines? 30 knots! Almost a speedboat! Are you going to branch out to steam trains soon?? By the way, when are you planning to return Mr Bond's seamaster? Probably not a good idea to upset him, ha ha! Cheers from a slightly grey Sevenoaks.
That is a great blue water boat. 30 knots is an incredible speed for a blue water cruiser. I know you've done a few Nordhavn's Nick but it would be really cool if you could get to do a walk through of a Fleming. You always do great videos.
Serious bluewater boat. Love it. Not a single thing that would detract from the experience. And it's an anemometer (AN EM OM EAT ER). The next lesson will be a refresh on MIELE. Hahaha.
This is literally the harbor from Thomas the Tank Engine on the Island of Sodor,(The Thomas theme kept on playing in my head during this video) I love it, and I want that boat. It's a real explorer.
Absolutely love this boat, and it isn’t too expensive (for a 50 footer)!! Also it’s amazing that you are able to get this many tours in these times 😀. Thank you!
I wonder why that antenna is on the aft-port quarter and not on the radar mast? It is not often that you see a dome located there. I love Hardy's - they are like the 4x4's of the sea. If like me, you love punching through big waves then you cannot go wrong with a Hardy!
Lol... The sudden loud sound from steam train triggered my trauma response.... Btw do these boats have those lightning rod thingy that absorbs and disperse lightning?
wow , what a beauty , that's my kind of boat , old but beautiful, & still looks elegant , & looks a very strong boat too . nice to hear & see the steam train , brilliant . 👍 😉
This is the other side of motor boating. A serous passage maker. I'm always draw to boats like this along with the Nordhavn's, but then you see the luxury accommodation in a Princess or Sunseeker and get seduced by that centre master cabin below deck and think, well... I'll dream about Nordhavns 60's, and you'll need a crowbar to get me off the Princess!
wow...what a machine ...Defo a go anywhere boat ....what’s the Range though ??? .... Someone is gonna get a Bargain I reckon ...I would much rather have this Hardy 50 than some other newer plastic gin palace of a similar price !! 👍👍👏👏❤️❤️
I really love this kind of ships, it screams "let's go there and everywhere " and not wait for favourable weather conditions in the marinas. The two chart tables make it clear that this is not a typical leisure yacht. And again an excellent review that only can be done by Aquaholic. A good and interesting review is not only about summarizing the specs, performance and details. There is much more than that in boating, and you show that with a little trainspotting. !
Hi Nick. A Hardy definite go out anytime boat, used by lifeboat training and with trawler luxury. Practical, safe and long term, long range boating. Great video. Thanks
This reminds me of the picket boats that was used to train (no pun) RN officers from dartmouth and ratings like me crewed them for our part 2 seamanship training from HMS Raleigh right back in the late 1970
Another great video Nick, thankyou. I much prefer this sort of boat to the over styled flashy types that seem to be popular now. Something like a GB49, a Fleming 55 or this woulkd suit me just fine. Sadly as an impecunious pensioner, I will just have to keep dreaming.
Lovely boat, but 30 kn? Hate to see the fuel bill on that. This is right up my alley, and pretty good value for the price. Way overpowered though for my needs. Another fantastic Aquaholic tour! P.S. the train made me smile.
30 knots for s semi displacement boat is really fast. But you didn't mention the consumption at this speed. These MAN'S are bloody thirsty at higher revs.🤣
We really should give our former colonial masters the technology of the diesel locomotives, they still rely on trains so much, I’m sure they would appreciate it. Its been over 200 years, I don’t think we have to worry about them trying to invade. AGAIN. 😘
You mention class A and class B, I have always wondered if there is a minimus size or classification for private motor yachts to be WORLD cruisable? if this makes sense? So a private motor yacht that could be in Britain one day, sail to the south of France the next, then cross the pond to the Bahamas for example?
That's a beautiful vessel. I'd much rather takes this out for a weekend than one of those plastic yachts we see today. For 50 foot its got so much to over and uses the space so well. Not just one big sunbed...
I love you review of this vessel. I'm dying to ask a question, after watching so many of your reviews. If you were to pick a yacht to live on full time year round. What size vessel and amenities would you feel were really needed. Im really wanting to retire and live full time on the water. I'm to fat and lazy to consider sailing so it would have to be a motor yacht for me. (yes its definitely ok to LOL at that statement) I ask you this simply because of all the other reviewers I have seen I know you truly know and love boating. I hope this request for a future video is appropriate and again thank you for another awesome video.
MY kind of trawler: goes anywhere, cozy accommodations; great sense of security and full instrumentation. The amount of cabin space suggests those old WWII novels where agents are picked up and transported to The Continent! Too many berths for people to get along on extended cruising. Have to eat in shifts.
Any chance of getting a tour of that steam boat [or the train] sometime in the future? Would love to see you compare some Edwardian Era yachts and contrast them with modern trends. [Frankly far too many modern designs look like sad wannabe scifi sneakers...]
What a lovely boat. Yikes, thirty knots from a semi displacement hull; I bet she has a rare thirst when running at full bore. But fabulous, just fabulous.
I wanted to see the fuel capacity so I looked on the Hardy website. www.hardymarine.co.uk/model-range/hardy-50/ The new boats look almost identical to this one so Hardy must be doing something right. The only thing I don't like is that it really doesn't have a useful cockpit besides tender storage.
I’ve watched all your videos and as soon as I heard the train whistle I knew it was from one of you previous video about that home. I love how you showed the train too instead of deleting it.
Im searching for a boat hopefully a yacht type it will be my first yacht im looking for under 30k good condition and overall good im in florida is it possible and where to go and look
Excellent video Nick. I do like the Superyachts and Sports Cruisers, but I do like it when you mix it up with real seafaring boats. I wonder if there is such a boat which is a good blend of luxury and practicality in the open seas that isn't attempting to show off.
Yeah! another barometer. And beside that what a great boat, the engine room is testiment to how well this has been looked after. And, it is I believe a Norfolk firm? And that alone gets my vote :-)
That was a nice boat but I personally don't like the look of Trollers myself. If I were to purchase a yacht I would much prefer one of the other yachts you have shown on your channel as long as they are a category A.
