YES I do and I'm sure ALL of Diana's fans know what you mean too! I think it's common to feel like part of Diana's extended family. Another great performance of Diana's was her premier of Vladimir Vysotsky's Ornery Horses. I don't believe she used distortion in this composition but how do you sing when your almost crying. First of all I must thank you for another excellent reaction video. It’s crazy to think I am learning more from a lady who speaks in a language I don’t understand (thank you also for the English subtitles). You have a real gift of explaining things simply and concisely which I don’t get from other reaction videos. Diana is simply stunning, Rechenka is my favorite so far followed by her rendition of Human. Keep up the great reaction videos and thank you again for sharing your musical genius.

Diana was abused horribly as a child, placed in an orphanage and soon adopted, when she still was not speaking around 4 or 5, someone suggested voice lessons, and it seems to me that the results are miracle level stuff! Diana's "Derniere Danse", from this same show (YOU ARE SUPER!), is amazing, and her own release "INTO THE SKY", is absolutely beautiful.

Wicked game was... wicked, but this was really the song that made me sit up and listen so closely to her. When I heard the first few words, I realised it was in Russian, so I hauled up a translated version of the lyrics. Well, that was when I understood what it took for her to sing this song. There was a part where she sang "I have neither father nor mother, there is no one to bless me" (it was the yodelling part), and that was where it hit me really hard. I actually cried at the last part of the song (Imagine that - me, a fully grown man, actually cried!). Those lyrics were actually true for Diana herself, and that was what she must have drawn from to sing this song in such fashion. In the last part of the song, it seemed that she decided to "cross the river" into the land of the spirits, to join her dead mother rather than to get married.

The essence and meaning of the song is that the girl is an orphan. Her natural parents have died. She lives with foster parents. They are going to marry her. In the pre-Christian spiritual beliefs of the Russians, the river was the border between the world of the dead and the living (Nav and Yav). The girl came to the river and addresses the spirit of her mother. She grieves over the absence of her mother and asks to bless her about the upcoming marriage.

There are probably a half dozen more Diana performances easily worth visiting. You decide which to visit next. Comment: Diana has stated that the lyrics to a song are very important for her. If you read the lyrics to her main performances they do have several themes. Betrayal, abandonment, a forlorn existence..... are all part of her song's themes. I think Diana gravitates to such songs due to her difficult past and her own abandonment. I believe Diana cares about others. Her heart, like yours, is generous. Again, thank you.

Epic performance! At 14 y.o. Now Diana sings it considerably lower and acapella in her solo concerts. She is 18 now, and her chest voice has become much lower, while her mixed and head voice have become even more flexible and versatile. It will be very interesting to see your reactions to her 2020 and 2021 performances at some stage. They are available in her personal youtube channel. And copyright restrictions are not that severe there. Best. ))
