After sitting for over a month without being driven the battery died. When I charged it up I had a indicator on the dash flashing and the car would not run. Hopefully this fix will work for you as well.
Hi there. Thank you so much for this video. I also managed to fix this immobilizer issue for my Golf 5 2006. I did exactly and while charging with the ignition on and engine off, I have noticed that the blinking light went off. Waited the 10 minutes and after that IT WORKED. THANK YOU again and BLESS YOU!!!
i tried programming a new key by using a method from youtube. it didnt work. the next day my original key started the car but it kept switching off. my heart sunk. i remembered watching your video and left the key in position two without trying to start it. i left it for ten minutes and came back to see the car immobiliser signal still on. i removed the key and put it back in and it fired up first time. the immobiliser signal is also not staying on. thanks so much. God knows how much i would have had to pay to rectify the problem
Verification for someone else watching: For a 2002 Golf: Turn key from off to on, light flashing. Left the key in the on position for 20 minutes, came back and the light was off. Removed the key, put it back in and the car started right up. Thank you!!

I let the key sit for 12 minutes turned on and the immobilizer indicator light went off! As soon as it did that I turned the key off and it started right up! Thank you again so much!
You are AWESOME!!!!! Btw, we did not have a charger so this works without a charger plugged in as well. After 10 minutes exactly, a message came up saying Demobilized or something like that. Wr started the cat and it worked!

It worked for me on Lupo 1.0 Lupo 1999 model does not have a light indicator for the immobilizer, but it started after the procedure. I plan to bypass the immobilizer in future.
thank you. I was getting really worried I had to take the car to the shop. Didn't start it for 3 months. Had the same symptoms after throwing in a new battery, but leaving the key in with the ignition on for 10 min solved it. The light turned off after and the engine started normally.

I got a new ecu for my mk6 and it’s saying immobilizer but still runs and drives. My epc and oil light are on though do you think the immobilizer is making those two codes come on?
That worked for me as well but the weird thing is I had bought another key that would only get me into the car because I didn’t want to pay for programming works now
Thank you so much after 10 minutes my car started. A guy came told me its gonna be R3500 to fix it and he will need to tow the car to his garage so that he can remove the computer box and bypass Immobilizer. the only thing which made me to say no was that he said he wants to bypass immobilizer. I realized he was thinking of steal my car.

I had the same problem as described above. I left the key in the ignition for 10 mins, removed the key and insertedthe key once gain and the car started. THANK YOU

I had the same issue left the key in the position of engine on, for 10mins and it solved the issue initially. But now I have the EPC light flashing too and it won't start even with the waiting minimum 10mins... Any ideas or should I burn the bloody thing
This actually works as long the battery is fully powered leave the car on for 15 to 20 minutes the ligh will switch off "" special thanks to the guy recording this my car is fixed 👍

tried just by leaving for 10-12min in On position, since i don't have a charger. after time, indicator kept on blinking but car started! saved me a trip/tow to mecanic Thank you very much!

I held my key in On position for 30 mins but the indicator light wouldn’t go off... Still not able to start the car and it’s the same model like yours.
@@tipsnadvice7284 I tried this using the spare key, cause my original key was temporary lost, but it seemed that this key itself had to be coded so this method didn't work for me. Luckily I found the original key some time later. Thanks anyway, I see this seems to be working for other people.

That doesnt fix the issue buddy. That just temporarily resets it, it will happen again and continue happening until the root issue is fixed, mine is getting worse and that light will almost always come on if the temp is warmer than 70 or so degrees, and I'll have to wait ten minutes for it to reset for the car to recognize my key
@@ItsArkofficial01 negative, fighting it everytime its warm out at all. Finding that it may be related to the intrusment cluster taking a dump, which could make sense due to my speedometer and cruise con trol doing whacky things when they want
I've got this problem and the wait a bit of time fix isn't a practical one as it doesn't fix it permanently and it can do it again any time in the future.

I just Need to leave the key on possition for 10 -12 minutes and then even If the light still blinking i removed and try to turn on ? I just remove my cluster for cleaning and this happends 🥲
