An interesting question. I thought these full sheet sanders might be better than the spinning disc type but no. this thing is a modern update on the vibraty black and decker thing my dad used 50 years ago. The random-orbit sander's oscillations as it spins do not create a distinct pattern. This allows the tool to be used without concern for grain direction. When both tools are outfitted with 100-grit paper, the random-orbit sander removes more material than the orbital sander. I googled that bit
Any electrical sander doesn't matter which brand it's made to do one thing only that's right... sand. I'm sure if you get a old iron or clothing steamer and stick sand paper underneath, hey you get a sander. Do not try this I was making joke.
