Food on the go for the ever so busy Mumbaikar…a garma garam batata vada, which is the gram flour coated deep fried spiced mashed potato ball. Dubbed as the common man’s burger this one is available at every street corner, is super delicious and light on the pocket so it manages to keep everyone happy - always. Try making it at home because this vada pav recipe if totally satisfying! The fiery accompaniments of fried green chilies and lasoon chutney are to die for!
Ingredients -
For stuffing:
• Medium sized boiled potato - 3 nos
• Mustard seeds - ½ tsp
• Turmeric p/w - 1/8 tsp
• Curry leaves - 1 sprig
• Chopped coriander - 2 tbsp
• Salt - to taste
• Green chilies - 4 nos
• Garlic - 3 nos
• Ginger - 1/2 inch
• Oil - 2 tbsp
For Batter:
• Gram flour - 1.5 cup
• Cooking soda - 1 pinch
• Turmeric p/w - 1/4
• Water - as required
• Salt - to taste
For dry garlic chutney:
• Oil - 1 tsp
• Garlic cloves - 10 nos
• Roasted peanuts - 1 tbsp
• Grated dry coconut - ½ cup
• White sesame seeds - 1 tsp
• Red chilli powder - 1 tbsp
• Salt to taste - to taste
For green chutney -
