West Bengal has some of the most selfish people in the country too. I went to take an SAT exam there, a few years back, and they refused to let me in because I didn't have an Aadhar card; bear in mind my home state (Assam) hadn't rolled out Aadhar cards to its citizens by then and above all, the admission ticket didn't ask for an Aadhar card, they only required a Passport to appear for the exam. The invigilator and the people there didn't consider the fact that a school student had travelled all alone to their state to appear for an examination for which the application fees were exorbitantly high, not to mention the pain of going back home to tell my parents that they didn't let me appear for the exam. The school was Assembly of God, Park Street. Two years later I took the exam in home state (since they had a centre here by then) and people were let in regardless of if they had an aadhar card or not, as long as they had some sort of valid ID. I took the exam and scored very well. I have taken exams in cities like Delhi and Chennai as well, never have I faced people as selfish and heartless as the people of that school in Kolkata. I realize this is not a general indicator of everyone from the city, but for a 16 year old middle-class student for whom it was the first time travelling alone, it left a lasting impression on me.

@@avinavsharma7207 we are sorry Brother for those things you had gone through which I would simply called Harassment again. Yes people over here talk about rules and regulations (mostly the govt officials or the law enforcements) but are actually hypocites!!

@@HummingWanderer Thank you. Very true, hypocrisy at its peak in some areas. I'm sure such kinds exist in all major cities, but too my experience (fortunately) I've only seen it there. I hope I can visit again someday, and this time I can redeem my experience
