Chanadal Curry
Ingredients
1. Chanadal (Bengalgram dal) - ½ cup
2. Chopped big onion - 1 cup
3. Chopped tomato - 1 cup
4. Green chilli - 3 to 4
5. Salt - to taste
6. Turmeric powder - ¼ tsp
7. Chilli powder - ¼ tsp
Seasoning
8. Ghee / oil - 1 tbsp
9. Fennel seeds - ½ tsp
10. Jaggery - 2 to 3 pinch
11. Dry mango powder (Amchor) (opt)- 2 to 3 pinch
Garnishing
12. Ghee - 1 tbsp
13. Chilli powder - 1 tsp
14. Chopped coriander leaves - 2 to 3 tbsp
Preparation
1. Pressure cook the dal till well done.( 20 to 25 minutes).
2. Heat ghee / oil & season with fennel seeds, add onion, green chilli & sauté well till slightly reddish.
3. Add the tomato, sauté till mushy & oil separates, add turmeric, chilli powder & salt sautéing again.
4. Add the boiled dal to it & salt if need be & add jaggery & mango powder. Boil well or pressure cook to 1 whistle, add enough water to get required consistency.
5. Heat ghee add chilli powder, & add to the dal in circles to decorate then add coriander leaves.
