Devaraj Bhaskar, the Managing Director of Premdeep Jewels is the guest on this episode of the Dhanam Business Cafe series.
Devaraj Bhaskar is part of a family that has been in the gold business for four generations. In 2010, he started Premdeep Jewels, a wholesale gold manufacturing company in Palakkad, with the intention of giving jobs and a livelihood to the traditional goldsmiths that were losing jobs. Premdeep specialises in handcrafted jewellery.
In 2017, he started Prem Shrishti, a jeweller a that specialises in custom made jewellery for its clients.
In 2023, he started a mega retail showroom of Premdeep Jewels in Palakkad that is spread across 5,500 sq ft, bringing to Kerala a concept of Jewel Studio.
Currently the company supplies gold ornaments to over 120 jewellers in Palakkad and has plans to expand its business to the Gulf region, starting with Dubai. Premdeep also plans to expand its presence across South India with more showrooms planned in Coimbatore, Ottapalam, Perinthalmanna, Pollachi and Kochi.
