The fight between OPDO and TPLF is a fight between a child and a father. Both have the same belief. OPDO wants to be primary, but TPLF refuses to give up being primary. Now, TPLF forced to accept to be secondary to OPDO with consequences and risks of other wars particularly the Amharas feel marginalized from the negotiations while the war was fought in Amhara land.

Meskrem I agree with your valid arguments, with some exceptions. (1) The issue of Bademe is resolved by international law -- that is Bademe is part and parcel of Eritrean Government. The prosperity government does not have legal and moral authority incorporate that area to its territory. (2) The issue of Wolqaite and Raya can not be put aside by the incumbent govetnment. It should and must be resolved by preconstititution status. Why? Because it is the identity issue of the whole Amhara. Plus Eritrea concern of the Wolqaite should be taken into consideration. If this government resolves these issue aganist the Amharas demand: it will be a galvanizing issue for Amharas to stand aganist the decision of the government. Finally, unless this government is politically blind and decides to commit politicsl sucuide; it can not decide the issues of Wolqite and Raya on the basis of post constitution status. (3) Ethiopian History has to be considered, the people of those two areas have been fought and struggled for their true identity and this demabd must be taken into account and future prospectives should be evaluated. (4) Even if there is a referendom those peole who settled post 1991 by the then government shall not, will not and must not have right to vote. Thus, Wolqaite and Raya will remain under Amhara regional administration; as pre constituion status quo. Otherwise the very essence of the constitution as said by great many scholars was motivated to theft the lands ftom others which were not origionally their own -- and this not acceptable by any standard. (5) As to disarming the Tigrian rebeles; I think all regional special forces should be disarmed. Only Federal Armed Forces and police forces and regional forces have to remain armed. The present regional armed forces do not have legal foundation and yhere is no international expetience. They are instruments of regional goverments -- like the land lords of feudal Ethiopia. (5) There must be national reconcilation conensus. Why? Haile Slassie gone feudalusm gone, Dergue gone communism gone, Melese gone with him reveloutionary democracy gone and tomortow Abiy will be gone prosrpority will be gone. Becuause the whole system is based on individual leaders. We have to establish a system (institutions and laws) whereby leaders may come and go the system remains--like USA and western Europe. Otherwise, we will always begin to build the nation on from the scratch, from zero--unintruppted revolution. I appreciate your knowledge, understanding and incitefulness.
