I don't think the dad was trying to insult his daughter. Also it's not an insult to tell someone to lose weight if they NEED to. Obesity is real y'know? In adults and children. And obesity is a BAD thing! Nobody is saying she must be skinny, she just needs to be at a healthy weight. Obese children only grow up to become obese adults. Her dad is trying to save her, not insult her. Add to that pretty sure her dad loves her over weight or not.

He can play along and tell her that he wants to bein the healthy weight range, and with the correct ratio of muscle to fat, so that he can live long to be with her as long as she needs him.

On the contrary, she actually has a somewhat corrupted heart/young mind. Where did she get the idea that somebody will stop loving someone when they get fat? That's obviously not instinctive. If she hasn't been corrupted, she will not think weight has anything to do with love. She will only ask her father about the benefits of losing weight.

She isn't even fat... just chubby. I bet she will grow out of it and become naturally proportionate. I was one of those "fat" kids who eventually slimmed down as a I grew bigger and older, and I didn't do any major exercise or follow any strict diets. I just walked a lot as a teen (gettin out there lookin for girls, lol), so I guess that helped... and toting around a 30lb boom box everywhere probably helped, too.
