As a kings fan... JJ is soooooo wrong here. Fox is their best player. We had a huge lack of size at 5. Buddy Hield was on a horrible contract, was wildly inefficient on offense, and played 0 defense. I love this trade.

The Blazer trades might be worse. They just traded McCollum, Powell and Covington for Hart, Bledsoe, Winslow and Keon Johnson.

The day before the trade the Timberwolves blew the Kings right out of the arena. A day later with Sabonis, Lamb and Holiday in the line up with Fox and the rest of the King's bench , they easily handled those same Timberwolves in the rematch. Know it is only one game but local beat writers were impressed with how fluid the offense seemed with the new lineup.

That backcourt with Duarte and haliburton is about to be pretty interesting to watch

If I had to take a guess here, I would say that De'Aaron Fox and/or his agent probably said to management, "It's me or him!" in regards to Tyrese Haliburton. There were already whispers stemming from last season that Fox was not happy that the Kings selected yet another guard in the draft, & there were rumblings that Fox & Haliburton were not co-existing peaceably. Of course, Tristan Thompson wasn't getting much playing time & wants to be on a contender (probably will be waived, bought out or traded in another deal by IND). Buddy Hield has stated he's wanted out for quite some time. Wouldn't even be surprised if the Kings swindle another deal before the deadline in 2 days. Maybe Ben Simmons. Also wouldn't be a shocker if IND makes another transaction or 2 but I don't expect them to deal Myles Turner.

Sabonis is the best player in this trade.

The more I think about it, what sense does this trade actually make for the Kings? Outside of acquiring a 2-time All-Star, what sense did this trade make? What about fit? Does fit matter considering both Fox and Sabonis need the ball to make plays for the teammates and like to score from the same general area of the court, that being the paint? Sabonis is a fine player but the Kings need three-point shooting. Yet they traded a 41% 3-point shooter in Tyrese Haliburton. Fox and Haliburton may not have been the best fit, but if you really think about it, with solely Harrison Barnes in Sacramento as a legitimate 3-point shooter, do you have enough 3-point shooting around your best players now, that being Domantas Sabonis and De'Aaron Fox? This sort of trade needs an explanation, considering a whole array of different aspects, considering the value of spacing, fit, how Haliburton should've been valued by the Kings in comparison to how he was really valued by them, as well as roster needs among others. That's why I don't feel this trade makes sense, as JJ Redick said. As a prolific 3-point shooter who has played on a myriad of different good NBA teams, JJ Redick understands the value of spacing, especially in today's NBA, but do the Kings do given that they are now pairing De'Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis who are both poor shooters from 3 without much 3-point shooting on the roster?

Life long Kings fan...HALLIBURTON has game. His biggest flaw, can not create his own shot. Needs the pick and roll. Spot up jumper, pick and roll...rinse and repeat. If that is what the Pacers are looking for, then congrats!
