@@loudspeakers3469 Agreed. She would also be a perfect Manon Lescaut. Verdi roles that suit her voice: Leonora (Trovatore), Elisabetta (Don Carlo), Aida (Aida), Desdemona (Otello).
@@lifeisgood3087 Eh… No. She’s a dark lyric. Those roles are for a more dramatic voice with strong top notes, clear middle and developed chestvoice. Byström has nothing of this.
Why isn't there a video of Christina Nilsson singing it on RU-vid, since she performes Tosca at the Royal Swedish Opera House this year ? She the best I've ever heard i think
Absolutely gorgeous and I was very lucky to see the whole performance on Operavision last year, she has such a command of the role vocally and is perfect for the role of the Roman diva. Let’s not forget that another great Tosca was the celebrated Swedish soprano Birgit Nilsson and now Malin can be added to that, I’m really excited to see hear her sing it next month in Amsterdam.
This is Romanian soprano Angela Gheorghiu. One of the best Tosca’s in opera history. Her unique voice comes from having a range between soprano and mezzo-soprano. Listen when she hits the first “Perché” in Visi D’arte aria. Her range is low as a mezzo, then immediately comes out high on the second “Perché” as soprano. The step gives the aria its signature supplication that turns your heart around. The aria ends with that long note “Cosí”. “Why you have treated me like this?” In Spanish, Tosca is a synonym for strong, stubborn, hard-headed. Believe me, I know, I am married to a “Tosca”
im sorry why do you hate puccini because his work are masterpieces, is it his hair, or maybe he is italian . his work brings emotion and beautiful music . hate is a very versatile word , you can use it to say the world is crazy therefore i hate everything. im a spaniard and just love puccini because im a latino and know emotion and your probably english and dont understand emotion.
Annoying camera work. Pointless, useless, continuous camera movements distract from her singing. I get seasick from watching this. the cameraman does not have to be an artist. Their task is to just DOCUMENT the performance. As a viewer i don't even wanna know that somebody is filming. Put the camera on a tripod and leave it alone.
