I was a horribly difficult, mean, nasty, anxious child and teenager. My mom NEVER stopped loving me, she fought for me every day. I am so grateful for that woman. She gave me true, unconditional love. This woman has no business being a mother. I feel so sorry for the people with so much love to give who are unable to have children.

I felt sympathy for her a tiny bit, then it went away with “there’s nothing wrong with my other children.” And “I’m not gonna flip burgers”. Being too good to work an honest job is pathetic.

Yes, she's jealous of her daughter. My mother was jealous of me and we still dont get along, age 63 and 90. I never married or had children and had to work full time for 35+ years. She had a wonderful husband, 3 high functioning, successful children, a 30 year retirement that included a lot of travel. Now she is 90 and lives with me as her caregiver. She's still jealous and miserable (jealous of what, who knows). Sorry stranger...but thanks for "listening."

Of course shes jealous. Beautiful daughter, mature beyond her years. Shes got wonderful mentor/mom in the teacher. This mother can barely keep a job. The other kids rely on her because of the disabilities. The oldest is free to do what she wants. The daughter is trying her hardest. At this point does the mom even deserve a chance? This woman makes my blood boil. Never ever in my life have I EVER heard any mother say that she “hates” her child. Everything about her is just horrid and she shouldn’t have any children. He hit the nail on the head-she’s definitely jealous of her daughter. What a piece of garbage.

Last words from my Mom to me, "I hate you and I always did" I knew it from the time I was a toddler, born with a facial flaw, was crazy all my life from her constant put downs, "and words can never hurt me" would of rather had the sticks and stones. I am 67 now, still dealing with it. She passed when I was 35. Single, childless, wish I could of forgiven her when she was alive. All I could say after hearing that was " I know, I knew it all along, but, I loved you". When your main love source disses you, you are pretty much screwed. Friends have said to me stuff like " Wow, it's a wonder you did not turn out to be a serial killer." All by the Grace of God and great therapy and learning love of self as I am that I am still alive and pretty ok now. Really feel for this young lady and the creep Mom, too. Yikes. We destroy our own precious commodity. Our own children.

Reminds me a bit of living with my mom as a teen. She admitted that she was jealous of me, she did seem to compete and though now she would deny she ever said that. In grade 10 she threatened to kill us both by stepping on the gas in her car and flooring it. I know what it's like to have a mental mother who plays the victim. Her mother hated her as well. I wish I could have a daughter so I could have the relationship I always wanted to have with my mother even if reversed but at least I'll get the opportunity to be a better mother to my son. With a mother like this it's like not having one at all. They will neglect you for their bfs, even if that means living alone at the age of 12 while your mother spends two weeks sleeping at her bfs place. Regardless how many times we had to move out in a hurry cause he was violent. Growing up with my mother was insanity and yet everyone backs her up, no one cares to validate the child's perspective because mother is always right. Glad that is starting to change and children are getting a voice. Pretty sure my mom said the same thing when I felt suicidal and depressed at 13-16, why don't you just do it. So yeah I know what it's like to have a horrible mother, the only thing is she would never admit this on public tv or maybe in general, she would always play the loving mother to others. Or tell people lies like I was spoiled or somehow blame me, so everyone is like poor her. Glad I have nothing to do with her. When I brought up the time she admitted she was jealous, I was now in my 20s and she said to me, what is there to be jealous of. lol! With a mother like her who needs enemies. Then there's the time she accused me of being a sociopath when I was in an abusive relationship with someone who probably was and they reminded me of her. Maybe she was projecting. Later on when I brought that up she acted surprised she ever said that. She once told me I was a difficult child, yet that couldn't be further from the truth. I was too perfect as I was raised to be her counselor, her slave, her everything. I always spent most of my work money on her which I came to realize was not the norm and most of my friends and other kids were not like that with their mothers. Enmeshed mothers are messed in the head and they treat you more like a spouse than a daughter. I wish I got away when I was 17 and never looked back. I went no contact one year, then spoke to her again and decided that no contact was the smartest thing to do as she gaslights, says things that happened never happened. Denies my truth and sounded envious of thinking her most violent ex really liked me when he abused me as well. Totally delusional. It's possible she is a narcissistic psychopath according to a counselor when I described her behaviors growing up. As for this mother, she seems very depressed and for some reason she is putting the blame on this particular daughter. Maybe the other kids are not as attractive or have the qualities she does so she gets the be the black sheep, welcome to the club. The worst part is when you can't even confront your own mother because there is no remorse or empathy for you, they are forever the victim and never stop being damaging and hurtful.

This is such a sad situation, for them both - the daughter and the mother. I feel the mother has a lot of issues and sadly is taking out a lot of her issues on her daughter. I know the mother is clearly in the wrong, however when she teared, I really felt for her, because those tears are of shame and guilt knowing that how she treated her daughter is wrong. Had she not shed those tears, she truly would be culpable of complete cruelty and indifference, which really is the ultimate act of meanness.

This situation is awful for the children but my heart just breaks for this woman. She is completely overwhelmed and hopeless. I don't think she sees a light at the end of the tunnel. It would be better for every single member of this this family if she lost custody temprarily and was provided counseling and job traing, and had a chance to get on her feet and stabilize before she could get her children back. So tragic for every one. But I really don't think she's a horrible person; just desperate, without hope, and despising herself and the public shaming is just incredibly destructive and does absolutely no good for anyone. She obviously already knows she's failing miserably.

How can you hate your child it’s not normal not natural. I lost my son last year that broke me and have two other boys and a baby girl , all you have is unconditional love for them . Love them more then your own life . If they do things wrong you teach them you stand by them no matter what .

Welp I wasn't the most diligent student as a child, could've done so much better, but other than that I never did anything, wasn't allowed to do anything as a teen, my mother was extremely strict and yet my younger siblings had a different experience, she was much less strict on them, they were given much more leeway and privileges that I was told were completely wrong or unacceptable during my time as a teenager. But my mom still provided for and loved me, as much as i do still have some resentment about the obvious favoritism of my siblings over me and the difference in the way I was treated, as an adult I am able to look back and understand that she was honestly doing what she believed was best at the time and it wasn't malicious or intentional. This "mother" makes me feel even more grateful for the one I have regardless of my mom's faults

Every time I hear Phil try and talk up this child services guy I instantly think of Gabriel Fernandez and the complete and total failure the LA system is. Still appalled those case workers didn’t get charged.

It can often be a challenge when your child grows to the age of adolescence totally different skill set.

OK I worked as a CNA ok in Texas. You have 3 shifts that you can work. Morning 6am - 2pm Evening 2pm -10pm Or Graveyard 10pm - 6am If she worked Graveyard she really could've done everything that needed to be done.

My opinion is that the mother needs a lot of help, the daughter needs to continue to live with her teacher because she deserves to be in a healthy environment and I hope that the other children are taken away while she gets help and doesn't get the kids back until she can prove that she can be a good mom!!

I would love to see this woman survive in my old hometown of moab utah. The reason I say that is because in Moab It's a tourist town and the only thing that is really available down there. If you don't have a degree is working fast food. I know this is old but she could sign up with a nursing agency and they would work with her schedule.
