I’m happy no red cards were produced; as a Barca fan I know how annoying Lahoz can be. I think he told himself not to send anyone off for as long as he could - there was dirty play and bad decisions on both sides. But the better team won on the day - and penalties was a fair decider.

I don't like penalties. People always reframe the game in a way that suggests that the winner really deserved it. In this particular case it may not be totally wrong, but they didn't win the game. The won a penalty shootout. It's just not right :/

FIFA and Qatar, both are happy to see Argentina win yesterday. Qatar will do everything possible to take them to the final. More than 70% people there are supporting Argentina, so no wonder the WC will lose all the attention in Qatar if Argentina miss out. How could Argentina finish the game with 11 babies is beyond me. The penalty was also one of the softest. The game was officiated by 3 Spanish referee. Most of the Spanish support Argentina. 6-7 Argentina players play in La Liga and they also speak Spanish.
