THANK YOU FOR THE FULL GARDEN TOUR! Everyone needs to see it. Your wife is exactly like my husband of 43 years when I am taking him around the yard to see my garden. He does not match my energy, but he gets excited when the food is harvested and ready to consume...I have caught him taking pics and videos to show his friends. He will be out there narrating video...LOL!!! I have those same grapes with the old worn-out sign just like you. You may want to stake those grapes up soon, or they will be food for a random rabbit. LOL!
4:35 The man likes his watermelon planted there, so let him plant there!!!!! there is nothing better than a man who is happy, knowing his watermelon is exactly where he wanted.....
Great Garden tour 👍 I’m from Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺 and it’s interesting to watch different garden channels around the World 🌍 with what people are growing. It’s interesting you had problems with Fig. as over here in Melbourne Fig and Citrus is the easiest things to grow. But we probably have problems with things that are easy for you to grow over there. Miracle Fruit is one I have problems with in my climate but other parts of Australia no problem with growing it like in Queensland. I enjoyed Fruitful Trees Channel over there in the United States 🇺🇸 and a Channel over here in Melbourne 🇦🇺 Real Life Fruitopia which is a great channel for growing tropical and subtropical trees in my Climate. Thanks for sharing your Garden with your Tour. 👍
Hello 👋🏾 my friend and thank you so much for watching and commenting! Figs can be really finicky here in my climate zone but I have a plan that I’m hoping alleviates that problem this upcoming winter 🥶. We’ll see if it works…fingers crossed 🤞🏾. Thanks again and stay blessed!
Isn't it amazing how that FIG is coming back up from the roots! Don't snap its head off! LOL Work your miracles my friend get that greenhouse on top of it, do whatever it takes!
Am a new gardener.. you have inspired me to get more fruit trees. BTW, your wife did a great job with that camera. . Beautiful video and clear capture. ❤
@SowGoodGardener I really liked how you have them in containers for easy transport during harsh weather. There are no excuses anymore. I hope you make videos in the future on how you feed and how often to water them. That's my challenge. I did subscribe to this master class channel. Thanks to both of you for sharing this much needed information 🙏
You two are such a wholesome couple! And I'm one of those people who are 1st time on your channel, so thank you for thorough explanations about ALL your trees 😂 Beautiful garden! I'm invested to check out these Apple and fig now!!😅
Fabulous tour, everything is beautiful! I can't wait to find a Tangerine tree, it's my favorite citrus along with ruby red grapefruit. Thanks for sharing 💜👍
You need to prune your apple trees, train the branches to less than 60° and thin the fruit. Prune for a main leader and side branches as I mentioned above and that should increase your production.
I’m looking for more privacy from my trees along my fence line. I’m just talking trash out there about my trees but I’ll never get rid of them. I may take out the main leader this Fall but that’ll probably be it.
Check and see if it’s root bound first. If so, trim the roots back about 30% and then up pot it. If that’s not it, make sure that your soil is well draining because it could be getting over watered. Lastly, it could just need some super juice and 5-1-1 fish emulsion.
Yo bro, I can feel your excitement throught the screen. I love that energy and your garden is beautiful bro . I hope to get there soon. I am working on my first garden this year. Thanks for sharing
The fastest way is one purchase at a time. Don’t do too much too fast or it can easily overwhelm you. This has been a (4) year process for me to get my garden to this point. It’s fun when it all comes together though.
Much respect bro .. The garden looks beautiful. The Barbados cherry tree is thriving and the fruit trees are ready to produce an abundance of fruit this year.
Hey Calvin! Your orchard looks amazing! It's definitely a fruit forest right in your backyard. 😊 I will be watching this video again because I heard some helpful tips on some of your trees and berry bushed that can help me help them😂 Thanks for sharing!😊
Awesome tour. Thank you for the tip on catching the draining water from the pots using the academy sports bowl. Did not know about the dwarf mulberry plant.
Oh my Lord! You guys are so funny!😅 I am a new subscriber and will be going back to watch some of the other videos! The garden is perfection! Central Floridia here! I'm jealous of your apples! 😮
Hey Calvin. Thank you for this great video. I learned some things about the wind burn because I definitely thought it was fire blight. Beautiful orchard and thank you for sharing. Happy Growing 🌱🌿💚
Thank you for the helpful information, your garden is looking wonderful. I want a couple of fruit trees so looking at your video, I'm going to give it a go😊 Happy Gardening!
You and broke sent me here from gardening after dark ... So i chose your channel to watch ... When i tell you i laughted the entire video.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣I love your wife ... Have her on more often ... New subbie ,🥰🥰🥰🥰
WRT the fig tree, we call it "winter kill". Sometimes a plant can be rated to grow in your hardiness zone but, with winter wind chill or salty air, any unprotected areas dies back in winter. One option would be to put protection around it for winter.
I plan on doing just that with the greenhouse I purchased. It’s a pop-up one but I think it’ll be fine for the winter’s we have here in Texas. We’ll see next year 😂.
New subscriber excited to support you ❤ I love gardening it's theropy to me I'm no professional but I sure do enjoy it all, we've turned our space to make it work for us and so so greatful❤
Man oh Man look at those blackberries I picked those as a little girl my mom would cook them fry fatback and make homemade biscuits and that would be a treat for us .
You two are funny. Your tres are loaded. You on the clock 😂😂😂. We love the grapes. If she don't put the out she got to get out 😂😂😂. That's a lot of plums and pears 🍐. We have to get a mulberry tree. Yous is loaded wow!!! People struggling to Boo Boo. Where is your tag 😂😂😂. Blackberries will spread out everywhere. Your orchid looks amazing. Thanks for sharing Texas Family
indeed about the fig trees! I did the chicago hearty fig because im a suburban gardener in illinois. my fig tree did the exact same thing. this year i did purchase another one. nut i will grow it in a container and overwinter it inside this year. If this doesn't work i will no longer grow them. Just found your channel and i enjoy the knowledge you bring. happy gardening.
Fig trees are so frustrating, yet delicious 😋 at the same time 😂. If the greenhouse doesn’t work, I’m done growing them. I’ve had them in containers before and they died back only to grow back from the bottom as well. I never brought them inside for the winter though. Thank you so much for watching and stay blessed!
Now that’s the price for trees I’m looking for. Gotta love when supermarkets and other places get in on the garden business. They have amazing sales. Looking good and this gives me faith my little bare root trees will grow up big and strong. 💪🏽 Great tip about the pavers under the blackberries!
That is one lucky fig! Gonna live in a castle this winter. Haha. We leave the tags on our trees too. Wow! The plum and peach are crazy full. Your orchard is amazing Calvin.
Annette!!! Thank you 🙏🏾 so much! That fig is soooo good so I’m going to try the greenhouse this year. However, if it dies back again, it’s outta here 😂.
My fig came back strong. I put all my exotics in the garage except my fig. I thought It was gonna die back like the year before, I guess she was thick enough to stay warm because she was the first to come back with new branches, and they are all loaded with figs.
