Lyle could seriously become a therapist, he needs to dive into psychology if he can because he handled the first caller with the needed empathy and advice. I also think she might be suffering from sleep paralysis because as someone who has that, it could feel very real. It's terrifying sometimes.
@@katet8639 this isnt the first case of sleep paralysis i've heard of where someone thinks they are communicating with a foreign entity. I know someone who thinks they're encountering spirits in their sleep paralysis.
Tbh this got me thinking like what even is real yk? Like everyone is living in their own reality so what even is the real reality? There is none cuz everyone got their own… as human beings we try to rationalise everything but even tho there often is a common ground we almost always disagree. I live in between two military bases. My family has claimed to see aliens, almost every single person in my family. I haven’t seen shit but some scary ass drone bombers or Blackhawk stealth planes that look like they’re bringing darth Vader down to earth. And the airplanes just floating in the air are wild. At night some of the dual blade helicopters look trippy too
I like the theory that most magic thinking intended to scare is that way because deep down, the alternative is far scarier and harder for us to cope with. For example, ghosts haunting people or old houses seems scary, but perhaps preferable to the idea that after people die, they are gone for good, and nothing of them remains to be seen or felt by their loved ones. Alien abduction seems scary, but maybe it's easier to experience than being alone in a totally empty and endless void.

@PollPerson Yes, well maybe, but that is a fantasy that someone invented. What I'm saying is the reason WHY someone would invent the idea that after you die, instead of decomposing like the rest of your body, your 'spirit' or consciousness or whatever could become trapped in an old house because of your 'unfinished business', is because having some sort of scary idea to take the place of our existential dread makes it easier to deal with. A ghost can be dealt with by an exorcist, a salt circle, a pagan ritual, a call to the Ghostbusters team, whatever you like. But there is no dealing with permanent, quiet, unrelenting existential dread, there's nothing we can do to make it better. THAT'S what is scary.

I love the way you handled the first caller!! My grandparents surprised me when I visited this year by mentioning their belief in aliens and how it ties into their religious nature. While maybe I haven’t experienced it, who am I to say that their experiences weren’t real?? They told me they’re embarrassed to tell most people about it typically because of how it’d potentially reflect on their characters and influence how people think of them. They don’t want people to think “they’re old people going crazy!” And I told them (for me) of course not!! They can believe in those things because who knows if they’re right or not?? It’s not like they’re forcing people to believe them or listen to their stories, so why would I question the validity? It felt like a real experience to them and so essentially it was, why would I deny their expression of how it happened as “real or not real” it didn’t happen to me so ?? I just told them wow that’s interesting to hear!! I showed them the trailer for the movie “Nope” and it was surprisingly something we bonded over despite me being “a city girl” and on different sides of the political spectrum I still love them lol 😘😅🫣

She is indeed correct on the assumption of if maybe causing the miscarriages. The physicians should be able to tell her, though. She sounds like someone with untreated trauma.

@@ZeranZeran Definitely distressed and rightfully so after going through so much. Ya it didn't sound exactly like lucid dreaming maybe more along the lines of sleep paralysis and maybe hallucinations or delusions. But it being a multi-generational phenomenon is pretty interesting.
@@Mogmanhatengr Yes, for me as a kid it results in near total control over my dreams. I remember raising my hands up to grow massive forests and trees, and also cities and skyscrapers. Always seemed to end up in an empty desert when I realized I was dreaming, like a blank slate. Also, the ability to levitate / fly anywhere I could imagine. It was really cool. Sometimes it felt like I was really there when trying to float up and view places like my roof, or my grandparents house! It was like I could glide through any area. It also helped me conquer some nightmares. I went from being afraid of a creature in my dream to killing it, knowing it was dead, and not caring at all anymore even when it did show up. Honestly really cool, I'm not even sure why they started or stopped, but I always felt in full control and it was very empowering as a kid.

Yeah, its very sad. Its the result of childhood trauma that she cant remember. She was probably kidnapped or SAd (the many miscarriages could be a result of being SAd so much) I feel so incredibly bad for her and her children

I agree the first caller should see a therapist and seek help, but it’s also not fair to just dismiss it as a mental health issue. What if these events she talked about, actually happened to her. I love you Lyle, but the universe is sooo vast and you think that the only other life out there are single cell organisms/bacteria? We’re definitely not the only ones.
@@sexygirlmax2019 Just to be clear I’m not ruling that out, because that would be the most logical scenario. I’m just saying with how big the universe is, it’s still a possibility that these events in her life actually took place and aren’t a figment of her imagination. It’s definitely more likely that she has mental health issues, but she also could have legitimately had these things happen to her.
I'm always sceptical of 'alien encounters', even having a UFO (in the literal definition). I witnessed bright glowing objects about 30 feet high moving at incredible speeds and stopping on a dime. They moved so fast it sounded like a jet flying overhead (I live in a flight path for air force training so I am familiar with low altitude flight sounds) and then was completely silent. There were two, and moved in synchronization in some sort of pattern before disappearing without a sound fsster than I could comprehend. I also witnessed this with my neighbor and her child. Both of us are level headed, and couldn't come up with a rational explanation, however, we both talk about the experience and come to the point that we don't understand it. I don't put a assumption on it, because it could easily be some sort of advanced tech the government doesn't want people knowing about it, but I don't assume it was aliens that are my buddys wanting to say hi. I could be wrong or right on either one, but I just have a detached opinion that is ultimately that I can explain what I observed.

I wonder if her husband is also O- there is a shot that you have to get when your baby is not O- as well if not the body will refuse it usually causing the miscarriage. i learned this due to one of my sisters going through her pregnancy as an O- and O+ baby combination. her baby was born with gastric complications at that time. luckily they are thriving now.
Hey first caller, if you're reading this, I want to talk to you briefly. I know you're not an illogical person. I know your experiences have been real experiences. There's a lot of stigma surrounding mental health still, and I want you to know up front I don't mean any of this negatively. Also, I'm not a doctor or therapist, but I would still like a moment, if you will. I know some of it may be hard to hear, but I still want you to know, the way you talk sounds very much like my grandmother, who was diagnosed paranoid schizophrenic as a young adult. Not your story or elements of your story, but how you talk about your experiences, and how you theorize about how they might come together. I'm not saying you have it too, but it's hard to put into words just how similarly you sound. I really hope you seek someone to talk to, not just for your sake, but for your kids. If it is a mental disorder, knowing sooner can be a world of difference, now and in your later stages of life. And also, it sounds like it could also be a genetic thing, passed down, which means it could mean a world of difference for your daughters life too. I understand the fear, but the longer you wait, the more likely it is that your fear will gain ground, and your self-diagnosing will dig in it's heels too. I'm not dismissing your conclusions, but if you can see any chance that this could be a mental disorder, I really hope you will go to a therapist. Getting help will be a huge and difficult step, as it would be for anyone in your situation, but it could be life-changing for you and your loved ones.
