A career that could’ve easily extended closer to the 20 year mark had he not experience his body separating from his mind in the player he knew how and wanted to be from the player he was allowed to be because of injuries. Jamal Mashburn made 1 all star team in his career close to the end of his career in 2003 and feels he should’ve made much more and I agree. In fact you can’t find many interviews where his name is brought up and the sentiment isn’t the same. That when Jamal Mashburn was in his bag, he was one of the best players in the league. His desire since a young age to not just be a one dimensional person only focused on hoop now and learn nothing along the way to fall back on is admirable. He took his resources gathered over the years, learned and applied himself in business, specifically, Food, transportation and Real Estate. Jamal Mashburn really could’ve been one of the best small forwards of his generation, if not for these reasons.
