A beautiful and magical 15th century archeological Inca site to visit. Located in the Eastern cordillera of Southern Peru on a 7,970 ft mountain ridge. Machu Picchu was built in the classical Inca style, with polished dry-stone walls.
Machu Picchu was declared a Peruvian Historic Sanctuary in 1982 and a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1983. It has been included as one of the seven wonders of the world since 2,007. Totally recommended.
